This is really a two part review: 5 stars for having unique items and at a reasonable price. My mom has been searching all over for a specific laundry bag to no avail. Tj Maxx came through with flying colors as they had exactly what I wanted at a very good price. Was also looking for pet items. Although there selection is very limited, the quality is more high end than your local discount stores. SERVICE– 1 star at best. There may have been one other person in the store besides myself. I saw plenty of employees and not once was I greeted or even acknowledged. I then go to checkout. No customers insight except myself. I stand by the register while some gal messes with some hangers, again not saying one word to me. Oh no she didn’t, yes she did!!! She looks at me and walks off, not saying a word!!! Another girl approaches the register from who knows where and proceeds to check me out. People, Your shift just started I can’t imagine what you will be like at the end of the day.

I rarely step foot into a Tj Maxx. That’s not me being all snotty or anything — I don’t have any compunction about diving in for discounts — but they just don’t ever seem to be in a logical or convenient place in my universe. In fact, the last time I was in a TJ was when I showed up early for a family dinner in Provo and it happened to be across the street. Well, this time it happened in reverse order. I had a lunch, and had a few minutes afterwards before I had to get home so I decided to check the place out. This store is part of Jordan Landing, a massive shopping complex the size of Florida’s panhandle. Or you know, close to that size. Here’s the thing(and maybe this is me being a bit snotty?) but every time I do walk into a TJ Maxx it feels like it’s immediately old. It’s the same feeling I have in a WinCo. I once went to a WinCo on grand opening week and thought, «Man, this place is getting run down – time for a remodel.» Same feeling here. It’s not run down in the«beat up, chipped paint» kind of way. But it just feels tired and kind of old. Still, this is a discount store, so just don’t expect fancy and you’ll be happily surprised by the low price deals. It’s fairly well organized, mostly tidy, and easy enough to navigate to find what you’re after. Plus with a little clearance there are deals to be had.
