Fairly small barebones rink that is good for anyone with the sudden urge to ice skate. Because of the size, you probably won’t be spending more than an hour here however, prices for rentals and admission are very reasonable. Beware that conditions do depend on the weather as this is an outdoor rink. During the winter is no problem but I went with a few friends on a fairly warm February day and parts of the ice were melting making things a bit slushy. I’m not sure if the rink itself has parking but you can easily park across the street in the Wabash Landing shopping center lot/garage.

This place isn’t too bad. It’s a decent rink and the only one around. The hours are a little goofy and you can only skate during a certain session. Call ahead to find out when the session times are so that you don’t show up and find out you can either skate for the little bit of time left of the current session or wait a long time for the next session to begin. They maintain the rink fairly well. It is quite small and gets crowded so the ice gets chewed up quickly. If you don’t skate well on choppy ice, go early before the crowds rush in. It’s a good place to learn to skate and to take the kids but people used to skating on a full-size rink will find that it is very cramped and not as fun. Be advised. The rental skates they have are complete crap and very uncomfortable so make sure to wear multiiple socks. You would be best served going out and buying a cheap pair of skates if you think you will go multiple times. In all, I would highly recommend taking your kids there to get them outside and teach them to skate. I would also recommend going here if you are just bored during the cold, winter months and would like to get outside.
