I always feel like I’m dining on a different planet than everyone else at Scotty’s. Upfront: I have never enjoyed my meal here, but my hubby likes the veggie burger so every once in a while we go. I find 0 things on the menu to be appealing, and most of that is because the menu is so overwhelming and poorly designed that I end up missing a lot of food. This last visit my husband mentioned he wanted a veggie burger and I figured, okay, I’ll also eat a veggie burger, so let’s go to Scotty’s. The wait was 25 minutes(usually it’s been 40+), so we sat at the virtually empty bar. I ordered a beer, and it only came when I reminded the bartender. The menu was apparently new(this seems to happen every single time I go there), so I looked it over before ordering the veggie burger. No joke — everything on their menu reminds me of something that will give me a heart attack. Anyhow, I settled on the veggie burger with a «thin» bun and avocado slices. What came out was black bean mush with one avocado slice on a Thomas bagel thin. Not something that looked like a Thomas bagel thin; it was literally a Thomas bagel thin. And my mushy black bean«pattie» was not about to stay in it.(I heard the bartender tell someone else that the restaurant had just started making these in-house. Mine was so spicy I barely made it through, but otherwise it tasted decent. My husband was not pleased with the change.) I was also a little peeved that I personally had to slice my avocado into slices to go on my burger. For a side I got bacon brussel sprouts. I took one bite. They only tasted like oil. No taste of sprouts, bacon, or even salt. Even more upsetting was that the bartender never asked how our food was and just took away my uneaten sprouts without so much as mention that they were untouched. Everything about this meal screamed«homemade by a teenager,» which is not something you expect at a restaurant. Also, not knocking teenagers, my sixteen year old self didn’t realize you needed boiled water to make mac and cheese. Regardless, it was once again a mediocre experience and there’s a very low chance I’ll be back, hence the 2 stars.

Consistently great burgers and the waffle fries with queso I mean get out, good. I’ve never eaten in, always ordered to go and never had an issue with my food. There are tons to pick from with fun burger toppings and a lot you can do to your fries to make them your own. Prices are moderate but worth it.

Triple check your orders. Just received our delivery order and it was missing my wife’s entrée. This is not the first time our order has been incorrect from this location which is a shame because the food is good. This place messes up enough orders daily to feed their staff. Thankfully Mr Delivery, the 3rd party delivery service promptly refunded the delivery fee and missing item — all of which did get placed by them.

I been here twice, love the interior decoration, and the food was great. I love the burger I order, I forgot the name, but it is great that I ever tasted.

Driving from Chicago to Columbus and needed to find a spot for lunch – we had planned on Triple XXX Diner, but it was(unsurprisingly) packed. So, we drove across the street to Scotty’s…and I couldn’t have been happier that our original lunch destination was full! There was a 5−10min wait for seating, so we opted a spot at the bar. The staff was friendly, prompt, and helpful; and, the restaurant itself was very clean and inviting(I’ve never thought of a brewhouse as cozy until today). And, for a sports bar, the TVs playing multiple games were not oppressively loud. I ordered the avocado chicken sandwich and sweet potato fries – so good! And, they have an entire designated gluten free menu, which is awesome(good to know food is safe, and the offerings are diverse, unlike some places which are far more limited). My mom ordered a basic cheeseburger and fries, and was equally impressed. Our meal was ultimately under $ 30, and worth every penny. Highly recommend.

Place is okay, but the costs are pretty high for the quality and portions.

Their food is good. It’s clean inside. The wait staff are friendly. It’s usually really noisy and I am not a fan of the tall chairs. It is sometimes difficult to park.

Waitress was nice. After requesting the bears game to be put on, a new table was seated about 20 minutes later. I guess they requested tennis because they turned off what we were watching.

I always stop in when I’m in West Lafayette. They have awesome specials and it just so happens tonight is street taco Tuesday. What better way to celebrate than with tacos and a margarita! The menu has a lot of options, so this is a good choice for anyone. They have televisions everywhere, so it’s a great place to catch a game. On top of this, it’s really family friendly.

Pretty cool looking place with a nice outdoor area. We came here for dinner and I didn’t expect much. The food was okay, just your typical bar menu at decent quality but nothing spectacular. We tried the kitchen sink, which is their assortment of apps. Nothing really stood out. I also ordered one of their wraps and my group split two pitchers of sangria.

I’ve been here 25+ times since they opened: happy hours, family dinners, business meetings, etc… The place is clean, great TVs and atmosphere. We used to enjoy kids eat free on Sunday, hummus plate was spectacular and the food tasty. However, that’s the past. The last five years the food prices have steadily risen beyond the quality and portion size. My last two visits have been business lunches with the same result: overpriced food and slow service. Scotty’s serves food on metal pans with a paper liner. Are we at the drive in now? What happened to the nice plates? The last straw was $ 8.95 lunch special with only HALF a sandwich, chips NO fries. Ridiculous! I don’t know how else to say it: overpriced, under portioned, slow service. Two stars because the place is clean and they have some good happy hour deals, but I won’t go back, ever.

The Long Island ice tea here is my favorite in west lafayette/lafayette. I also love the garlic fries(you can find it on the side menu), and they are so delicious! I personally don’t like American food that much but I think the burgers here are delicious(you can make your own burger based on the options they provide).

I’ve been here a few times with my boyfriend when I am out there visiting him. We’ve never had any type of consistency there. Ever. The first time we went, I loved it. The food was different(bison burgers, woah!) and there was plenty of it, the portions are huge. Plus the sweet tea was so good, I wanted to drink that for the rest of my life. And the service was pretty good this time around. Though I think the girls that work there should spend a little less time primping and trying to look good and just focus on being good waitresses. I understand you get a better tip if you’re hot, but a little professionalism wouldn’t kill you either. The second time we went, we sat outside since it was a nice day and it was pretty crowded inside. You honestly would have thought we were invisible. No one came up to take our drink orders for about 15 minutes then it took another 20 just to get our cold food. I got a pulled pork with mac and cheese grilled cheese(bring on the heart attack) and was really looking forward to it until this cold mess arrived in front of me. We couldn’t start eating until another 5-ish minutes when we finally pulled a different server to get us napkins and silverware since our server was no where to be found. We ate as much as we could and got the hell out of there. The third time we were kind of in a rush to get to the movies, but we had an hour. We decided the quickest option was to sit at the bar and order food right away. We ordered mojito pitchers too, which were super strong but so yummy! Now, I’m not an expert or anything, but we were sitting at the end of the bar next to the kitchen, so we could see everything going on back there. Let me just tell you, the food sits underneath the hot lamps for FARTOOLONG! No wonder peoples food is cold when it is finally delivered to their table. I was relieved to see our food quickly brought to us, I mean we were sitting right there… To be honest, I will probably go back. My boyfriend loves it there. He’s more of a quantity over quality person and the portions are always huge. I just hope they kind of get their stuff together for the next time.

Used to go back in the day to catch Bears games. Always enjoyed the brews and range of food they served. They cover pretty much the entire pub food spectrum and then some. I usually always get some sort of sandwich and have never been disappointed. I never really found anything I didn’t enjoy save for the sometimes slow service. The servers tend to linger if they are serving their friends, so that gets annoying every so often. Definitely recommend this place, though.

Solid food and a huge menu. Excellent service. This place reminds me of a nicer version of wild wings. Our party ordered the buffalo chicken app – spicy and addictive – which came with some tortilla chips and celery sticks. The chips tasted a little stale, but nothing to bad. For the main dish, I got the chuck burger with farmhouse toppings(egg, Swiss cheese, bacon) cooked medium rare. It was very good and came out in a cute metal tray. I had the fruit salad which was very fresh. Apparently this chain is only find in IN. For a first time visitor, I was left satisfied with my meal and experience.

Urrgggh I am SO sad to have to write this review. I love Scotty’s… I love their salads(ranch dressing nom nom nom) and I love their cheese fries. But what I DON’T love is dirty glasses at the bar. Yes. you heard me right. Dirty. Glasses. Right. In. Front. Of. Your. Face… while you wait for your food. ew See pics for details(I know, we don’t want to have to do this but I need to warn people because I really think its gross, its a health issue for me). I guess if you just order a soda you are fine… maybe just use a straw :( sad days, very sad days knowing I can’t get a cocktail at scottys.

I like the fact that they take pub food and try to go a bit better on ingredients… but when you sit down and your entire table is covered by giant menus and crazy sale information… well, you get a feeling you’re in a place trying to compete with CraftWorks(Rock Bottom, Gordon Biersch, Old Chicago) or BJs. You got a bunch of beers that range from Bud to local craft without anything too crazy and like…200 menu items. I got a burger that was ‘build your own’ and some garlic fries. They overcooked the burger to well done when I wanted medium rare(they did offer to replace it, which was nice) and the fries were like… maybe considered a side portion compared to the giant basket of chips and fries offered to the other diners. Decent tasting, but nothing that makes me say wow. For West Lafayette though, it’s definitely not a bad place to go.

Food wise I would give a solid 2.5 but considering the«meh» service ill down vote to 2. I’ve been here a lot because you get a good size burger for $ 7 plus side, and it’s only campus. Not really many options that beat this one. On a good day, food is really good. And a bad day, food is terrible. Seriously do they only have 2 cooks that rotate? Cuz sometimes my burger comes out burnt and missing topping, and sometimes they come out just fantastically juicy. Service wise, expect to come in, dine and get out fast. I almost never get all the toppings i order on my burger, which is weird to me because… I mean how hard is it to make a burger correctly per order? I almost never come during busy hours so that’s not an excuse. There’s just so many things I want to say but overall, yea I would come back just for cheap meals. But when I start making money. Ehhhh…

Had the Chuck Shewman burger(peanut butter, bacon, cheddar cheese, fresh jalapeño) on a gluten free bun and shoestring fries. The burger itself was delicious! The bun was unbelievably dry — NOT the restaurant’s fault, that’s just Udi’s. But very pleased that a gf bun was an option. The shoestring fries were not hot, but I am not sure you could keep thise skinny little buggers hot for long. They were not listed as gf because they’re cooked in oil that also fries breaded stuff that isn’t gf. But I am only gluten intolerant, I dont have celiac and I was fine. Service was great, staff was very friendly although they were slammed. I will go back for sure.

Scotty’s is a great addition to West Lafayette. I like the location because it’s not too far away from campus but also not in the middle of the college crowd. The hot boneless wings are very promising, and the burgers are not half bad either. I usually get the bison burger when I’m here — Southwestern style is the best. Of course the waffle fries are also great. I am not a big fan of the Mo-fo’ sauce. It is a weird concoction of sweet spicy and bitter. I once had the chicken wings which were drowning in this sauce and it was probably the most unappetizing meal I have had. Ever since then, I have stuck to the burgers and strictly south western style. I once had the pretzel burger with the nacho cheese sauce and it was absolutely disgusting. I am sure if I ventured more with the menu this place would barely be a 3-star, but lucky for the restaurant I stick to the good items, hence the 4-star review!
