McMenamins West Linn Pub

I’ve eaten here a few times. It’s decent. I wish it was something more fun, funky and in step with West Linn, but it’s fine. It’s very much a burger joint. It’s a little tired and run down, but the food is decent and consistent and the beer menu is great. It’s real draw back besides needing a face lift is that the service is often brutally slow which is fine if you have the time and plan to sit for a while. I love that we have a Mcmenamins here in WL and I’d love to like it more.

Food was decent but the service was poor — not the staffs fault — they were waaaay under staffed for the amount of people that were there. Maybe they are usually that busy — but that should be a tip off as well.

Great beer, nice atmosphere, and an awesome deck to enjoy some PNW sunshine. The food list was short; but they had a nice selection. I tried a soup that was very unique; African something. I’m not a soup fan. But it was unique enough to be quite enjoyable.

Quite disappointed in our lunch on Monday. Incredibly understaffed, so not blaming the waitstaff entirely, but good grief! who has an hour and a half for lunch? not me. It took 40 minutes for our food to arrive, and when it did, it was cool, which is ok for some things, but not tots! They must have been sitting somewhere for a LONG time back there. Bottle of root beer slapped down on the table early on without a straw or glass. Waited patiently to request them, but not in the cards on this day. Very clear there was no time for such luxuries on this day. Felt cheated and unwelcome here. Go before 11:30, or drive through McDonald’s if you want something hot.

This is a great McMenamins — we have been 6 times in the last few months — every time has been good. The service is fast — which is sadly rare for McMenamins — and the food quality is notably better than their sister restaurants. We’ve eaten inside and outside, with and without our kids, when it’s crowded and when it isn’t. It’s been consistently very good and we’ll certainly go another 6 times in the next few months.

The salmon and tuna were great, tots were also great! I would come back. I want told about happy hour which I think should have been mentioned but besides that this place is a win!!!

So I have been to a few McMenamins and this one hands down had the best service we have ever had from a McMenamins! Luke our server was fantastic! Made sure my soda was full and checked on us often! We love the hummus and I had the gyro with Cajun tots! They were both delicious! The smoke house lightning mac and cheese was good too but almost to smokey flavor!
Once again thank you Luke for being so great! I’m a bartender server and I appreciate great service!

2 and a half. The food was good, normal quality you would expect for mcmenamins but there were flies everywhere. My dinner guest had to place a drink coaster over her glass of wine after every sip because they were fruit flies and attracted to it. Yuck! Potlatch salmon salad was delish but the flies, man.

Every McMinemanins seems to have different happy hour specials. Food is always good, with polite quick staff as well.

I have been here before with better results. This time was nearly a full hour wait. Probably not necessarily the fault of the staff as they may have been short handed. The food was okay. The ambience is good. If you are there to converse over a few brews, I would recommend it for that– the beer is good too.

Love this place! The drinks are just strong enough, the staff is friendly and the food is great! I usually get this excellent cajun bowl and it is so good I will have to go back again soon. I’ve never been to see the live music but even without it, it’s worth the visit.

Consistent good food. Nice variety, Smoked Mozz Mac and Cheese, a Gyro and a Burger. Large fry to share and a Ruby. Great flavors in a casual atmosphere. We’ll be back.

Patty melt with tots was good enough. They get an extra star for the Ruby Ale.

I stopped in here hungry and ready for a quick, fulfilling lunch. I ordered the Cajun Mac and Cheese which is advertised as macaroni with a creamy Cajun cheese sauce which was $ 8.75 I think, and I added bacon for an extra $ 1 because I put that shit on everything!
What I got was a sad plate, not bowl, of al dente macaroni inside a cheese soup with Cajun seasoning sprinkled on top… with a sad sprinkle of bacon bits which was comparable to maybe half a strip of bacon. I couldn’t really tell the seasoning apart from the bacon bits, that’s how skimpy it was. The plate was maybe 8 inches across and less than an inch deep. I almost added my own dash of tears as I considered crying drops of sadness right onto the plate as I knew I was going to dole out over $ 9 for this miserable dish.
After finishing, I couldn’t help but reminisce on my own memory of it being advertised as something completely different that what I received. So sad!
The service was marginal if not forgettable. The décor and atmosphere is nice. Location is good.
I left here feeling very underwhelmed and undernourished, so I will probably take my $ 9 Mac n’ Cheese business somewhere that knows how to get it done in the future.

Strip Mall Location: Stopped in for a beer and a Passport stamp this weekend. Good service and everything seemed to be up to the typical McMenamins standards. Didn’t spend much time there so not much more to report.

Prompt service, friendly/​knowledgable staff, good food, are all things YOU WILL NOT find here. Everyone knows not to expect much from the chain that relishes in notoriously shitty service but this hole sets the bar at a new low. I’m going to burn my McMenamins passport in their fire pit while I throw Cajun tots at the poor excuse of a manager who apparently missed the class on customer service (that is if it’s even offered for their employees). If you like paying to get punched in the groin, then this is the place for you!
***LONG OVER UPDATE***
The regional manager got a hold of me personally, shortly after I posted this review. He wanted to know more about the visit that prompted my tirade. He was receptive & responsive. Gained a lot of points with me. Have been back a few times to test the waters and it seems things are changing for the better.

Cozy and quaint.
The service was friendly/​professional, but a little on the slow side. Beer was on-​par for all other McMs locations. Food was prepared as requested and arrived hot.
Would go again if in the area.

I’m going with 3 stars, but, that’s being generous, limited menu, server… About as friendly as a chair. WTF… I don’t get it! I was looking forward to trying McM’s… Almost left and went next door to. 5 guys!

One of thee worst restaurant experience. Wait to be seated, waiter has no patience or care about his service towards us. Cocktails tasted like there was no alcohol in it. Wilbur burger was overcooked and slathered in mayonnaise, the clam chowder was watery bland as anything we’ve ever tried. I have enjoyed most all experiences in the Mcminnimans of Oregon, but this experience goes down as one of the all time worst restaurant visits.

Wow, I can’t believe I just ate the worst Fish & Chips in USA (NO STAR FROM ME)!!! I can’t believe this McMe is still survive in this economy! I guess they are supporting by other McMes.
BUT, my waiter was cute, nice, friendly & provided great service.
I love the atmosphere, interior & decorations!
SO, do come here but don’t eat the food, just drink and hang out with your buddies. :)
