A little gem of a place in between a sushi restaurant and a spa in quant little Willamette area of West Linn. I liked how clean and cozy the restaurant seating area was. I would describe it as old western saloon style hence the name Erst Linn Saloon, with wood slab tables, corrugated metal Wayne’s coating and cowboy hats. We were greeted and served immediately. The beer was cheep and cold 2.50(and up) for domestic draft and bottles. We orders the Slab Sandwich which had fresh roasted turkey piled high, cheese, lettuce, tomato on their own fresh baked bread for only 7! We also tried a few of their $ 1 chicken wings… excellent place for cheap eats and beer! I will be back for sure.

The new remodel at the West Linn Saloon is a resounding success. Met friends on a Saturday evening and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. The seafood chowder was outstanding as was the tri– tip sandwich. We will be back.

They say you can’t put lipstick on a pig, but don’t tell that to the new owners of the West Linn Saloon. The bar has been completely renovated including nice new bathrooms. Now on to the food, which is really amazing. The seafood chowder is the best I have ever had. The sandwiches are equally amazing. My wife orders the chipotle chicken sandwich almost every time we are there, I have had most of the other sandwiches all have exceptional tastes. One in particular is Bill’s Bronco Buster which is teriyaki marinated tri-tip, bourbon caramelized onions, pepper jack cheese and tomato on a bun… One of the best sandwiches I have ever had.

Eating behind the bar in customers faces is back apparently. I’ve been to this bar many times as its one of two bars by me, but this is the first time I’m rating it here, in fact I created this account to share this message with anyone looking this place up. A few things you should know: 1: If your not a regular expect to be ignored. 2: If you don’t immediately know what you want expect to wait another 10−15mins to try to order again. 3: The bartenders seem to love to talk with globs of food and drink in there mouths. I hope if you decide to go you have a better experience than I have had here on multiple occasions.

The entire place is a throwback to the 50’s. From smokers siting at a table out front blocking the sidewalk(disgusting) to the feel of a time warped blood guts roadhouse from the past. A good while ago we knew a musician who was scheduled to play here, so we went and just felt the place was too creepy to even sit down. Went by this week and… still the same… Too bad! It is in a terrific location but they obviously like what they’ve got and send families and couples up the street to another bar/restaurant.

Friendly wait staff and good food. You may also find yourself constantly staring at the walls as well. It is covered in athletes and their autographs. I say it’s a go.

Always looking for a great place for happy hour. After this visit, I am still looking! As a couple of the comments stated, the drinks are very strong, but that doesn’t make up for the lousy service, at least not in my book. Doesn’t really matter how strong the drinks are if you can’t get one! Came in and sat at the front table next to the bar for almost 10 minutes and neither of the girls behind the bar came over, finally had to go up to order at the bar. They did actually bring our food out, but I was wondering if we were going to have to go get it, and it was the only time they ever approached us at all. I went up to the bar to get a refill on my diet soda and had to stand there for almost 5 minutes while the two bartenders carried on thier conversation in the back, they finally came out of the back and then stood there and continued to talk to each other… in front of me… without even acknowledging me. I had ordered the taco plate and when it finally came to my table, it wasn’t tacos at all, it was taquitos… not at all what I wanted; hard, deep fried and barely any so called meat in them at all. I was very disappointed in the whole experience. It seemed everybody knew everybody in here. It definately felt like if you didn’t know everybody then you weren’t welcome. I do understand taking care of your regulars, but you have to at least acknowledge the new people that come in or you will never get new customers in. We won’t be back.

I had a love affair with this bar for about six months. It has an extremely small-town feel, the drinks are cheap as dirt and strong as shit(yes). Once you start going here frequently enough, you will recognize the regulars(and they will recognize you). Oh and they might hire good looking bartenders, too.

$ 1.99 for a bowl of tater tots and $ 7.25 for two pints of craft beers. Can’t complain too much about that! Wouldn’t say I’d make this a weekly hangout but it was fun to stop by.

Update: I went on Monday night for their soft taco special. I wouldn’t say the place was bustling but it was a lot busier than when I went last week. I also noticed when I went to look for the restroom that I had only seen about half the place before. The interior is shaped like an L and I had only seen part of it. It looked like they were getting ready for some poker action as I headed to the restroom. The waitress brought my beer right away and fairly quickly arrived with the soft tacos. She almost threw them on the table and slapped a couple of salsa packets on the table and walked away. Wow! Sorry I was inconveniencing her! That being said, the soft tacos were really good. Very big too! They actually were a lot like the ones I make at home. Taco seasoned ground beef, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes, onions, and a drizzle of sour cream. For $ 3.95 they were definitely worth the money(and the crappy service).
