Friendly service but the nachos we had heard so many good things about were terribly disappointing. The Seafood on the nachos and the cheese came out cold so we sent it back. It came out again hot but so few shrimp and lobster tails and so little cheese! Really disappointing for $ 15! Asparagus side was amazing. Also had bbq chicken salad that was supposed to be ‘dressed in bbq sauce” — just a pile of lettuce squirted with a thin layer of bbq sauce. Chicken on it was yummy. It was ok but would not recommend. If you want good seafood go to Mane St Seafood so fresh, plentiful and cheap.

My husband and I had lunch here. We shared the seafood nachos for an appetizer. They were fantastic. He had the fried catfish poboy that he said was really good. I had the gumbo… awesome. The inside is a little small so seating is limited and there is usually a line. The wait usually goes pretty quickly though. There is a patio that overlooks the river and is quite nice when the weather is. We will definitely be back.

Great atmosphere. Really have renovated the building from the last restaurant that was at this location. Friendly fast service. Enjoyed a bowl of gumbo which was well seasoned. Also a side of asparagus which had a great flavor plus good portions on both. Had a singer out on the heated deck was seated inside so could hear but also was not to loud so could have a good conversation without interruption. Highly recommend for anyone that wants the Louisiana cuisines.

Trapp’s was a local hotel referral. Very glad we listened!!! Great service and excellent food!!! W/a group of 5’people… Had the seafood nachos as a group appetizers, pretty much devoured that order on less than 4 min. Had to order a second round. The group ordered different meals; Bill’s seafood platter; Fried Shrimp Po-Boys; Red Beans and Rice; Boiled shrimp. Not one of use spoke for the first 10 min as we were busy eating… Always a good sign!!! I had a Cup of the Red Beans and Rice and a full Fried Shrimp Po-Boy w/fries…(Wished they offered a Fried Oyster). My plate was cleaned by the end. I did not have any desert, but two people ate the bread pudding. I did not taste either of them, but to my trained eye, they looked a little dry. All in all… I will be back! Soon!!!

Great service, great atmosphere and fun original food. We ordered nachos with shrimp and crawfish tails — amazing. We also got the jambalaya, gumbo and rice and beans. All were great. The jambalaya had perfect seasoning and just the right heat. Servers made sure our glasses were never empty while we sat on the porch overlooking the river. Coming back for sure.

I’ve heard great things about Trapp’s and have really been looking forward to dining here. The customer service is great, and the food proudly reflects this area within the name of each unique dish. I tried the grilled stuffed chicken with a side of asparagus and yams. The chicken was seasoned perfectly, stuffed with boudin, and topped with an awesome boldly-flavored sauce. I definitely look forward to coming here again.

Everything about this place is amazing! My date and I started off with the seafood nachos(which was huge and delicious)!!! And then for our meals we had the seafood platter and shrimp platter with asparagus and mashed potatoes. Simply delicious. Everything was cooked perfectly. The shrimp bisque was delicious. The food was speedy and hot. The décor and atmosphere was great. No complaints about this place. Definitely a must go in the Monroe area

The reviews for here are mixed so I was a little wary about going. So, what I’ve learned so far in Louisiana is 1. drinking when you go out to eat is just stupid expensive. 2. Everyone is super nice. I haven’t had a bad experience yet when it comes to customer service… but I digress… on to the review! The restaurant sits on the water and I generally sit at the bar to eat, especially if I’m alone. The bar area is super tiny. 4 seats maybe? But the décor overall is very nice. I decided on the shrimp po’boy and gumbo. I wasn’t a fan of the gumbo. it wasn’t bad but it just wasn’t for me. The po’boy was fantastic. The remoulade sauce was very good and the shrimp were lightly fried/breaded and tasted very fresh and delicate. I simply can’t give more stars for one reason. I wasn’t a fan of paying $ 8 for a house glass of wine. No bueno Trapps!

Good food good service and decent price. Catfish po boy was good, sauce had a little kick to it. Seafood nachoes was huge with good portions of shrimp and crawfish. Burger tasted awesome. Atmosphere is loud and comfortable. Crafish queso was awesome! Comes with homemade chips, as does the nachoes. Kids chicken strips and fries were a good portion. Jambalaya Four meals and an appetizer came to $ 60. No complaints here!

I had heard it was sort of a dive as far as atmosphere, but the food was delicious. It was a dive… but the food was awful. I ordered the crawfish poboy. The only thing I tasted was thousand island and stale bread. I wouldn’t recommend it nor would I eat there again. Very disappointing.

The food here was good but average, nothing special. The river patio scenery was great. Be careful of the patio tables they’re sort of shaky and unstable. We at cheese burgers, that would have been a little tastier with a different type of cheese.

I guess our expectations were too high! The remodel was great, love the reuse of materials. The food was just so so. The raspberry vinegarette was very good. The seafood pies were not what I expected, they had rice in them. They were okay but more like rice dish in a fried dough. Service was good. We will go back and try something different just because we really love this location. So glad they saved this building! Crazy thing though… looked at they bottle of Trappey’s Hot Sauce and it was bottled in New Jersey!
