I had the spicy crab claws far an appetizer and it was great with shrimp, grits, and creole sauce… just fantastic. Pleasant company at the next table and Brian, a very attentive waiter. Great meal to end the day. Oh, and Amber Ale to drink; double smacking good.

disappointed. I grew up in louisiana. and copelands is a staple in new orleans. i really wanted crawfish ettouffe but they said they were out of crawfish.(which actually impressed me, cause it meant that they werent using frozen Chinese crawfish tails.)(cause crawfish is out of season). but as we went through the rest of the menu. i noticed the waiter said they had other menu items that had crawfish tails in them. which even perplexed me more. wth? how can they have crawfish tails for pasta but not ettouffee ? in addition. the food came out very bland and unimpressive. ill never return to copelands again. and will be wondering for a longtime«what the heck happened to this brand»

When you are in Monroe there’s not a lot of choice so we have this place a try. Turn out it was a very good find. The staff were very friendly, and the restaurant was kind of a unique setting… but cool. I ordered the etoufee craw fish. and it was a delight. I would highly recommend this dish. Price was very affordable. Will go there again.

So we were just passing through LA on our road trip back to Ca. We were looking for an awesome place to eat Gumbo and Jambalaya! Highly recommended. We were greeted at the door as soon as we walked in by a great and friendly staff! A must try!

Our waitress was wonderful. I tried the new crab stuffed beignets. They were delicious. Actually they are not beignets. Something didn’t taste right with the spinach artichoke dip and pasta. Something tasted rancid.

My husband found an artificial finger nail in his apple almond salad he ordered for lunch. We will never go back. Up until that time we enjoyed eating there even though seating is usually long because the staff is fairly unorganized in this particular area. With the above mention Copland did not charge us for the meal but it is something we can not overcome

Planned our route from Florida just so we could eat here! Charlie, our server, was FANTASTIC. She recommended the Cajun Crawfish Pasta which was perfect for a lighter dish. She was so friendly and helpful! My whole family loved their choices.

We passed through on our way back from Florida. It was a Sunday and everythin was closed except the chains. We were pleasantly suprised with delicious, authentoc cajun fare. The staff was knowledgeable about the menu, the kitchen was accommodating as far as allergies and the service was great.

MEH… I got the Jumbalaya pasta based on my servers recommendation, the sauce was crap and the pasta was over cooked. It looked nothing lije the pic on the menu. Im a die hard foodie from Houston. Past is served ALDENTE meaning to the tooth. There was no bite to it. And I ordered the crawfish bread due to raves about it on here. Also crap. There were no artichokes and I expected it to be much richer. BUT, my husbands food was AMAZING. His delicious fish was served over this roasted garlic, corn, and potato mixture; to die. The fried pickles rocked and the biscuits they served with dinner were warm fluffy awesomeness. In addition, the service was superb. I guess you win some and ya loose some. Finally, the whole place was filled with this awesome aroma from some chick making deserts at a small counter by the main entrance They looked exquisite. Wish I had room to try one.

It’s not secret Copeland’s is chain. But let’s focus on the positives. For a chain, the food, service, quality and atmosphere is better than average. It seems there’s either great or terrible reviews for this location. I can only comment on how we were treated, which was great. And, the food, to be honest, wasn’t any different than we had a Cormiers, a local place that service a smaller, yet similar menu. Copeland’s can be hit or miss. When we arrived on a Wednesday night, we left with no complaints. Copeland’s is the rare combination where you can find good Cajun and plenty of steaks, and other dishes. The menu is large enough to cater to everyone, yet has enough solid choices to keep Cajun lovers content. It’s not the greatest Cajun you’ll ever taste, but better than average and much more enticing than normal chain food. Did I mention the portions are huge. What do I order? The redfish, blackened, every time. Why? Because as long as it isn’t overcooked, and remains juicy, it’s good. And added vegetables an mashed sweet potatoes, it’s a dinner few can complain about. Order than and you won’t whine about your meal. The same can be said for the catfish dinners. After that, you’re on your own. On a side note, expect to pay more than a small stand alone restaurant. That’s the norm at Copeland’s, but if you order the right dish you won’t complain and will likely return.

Worst experience I’m not a complainer at all but my husband and I came here for a date night. We walk in and the hostess is arguing with a customer should of been the first sign to leave but we waited patiently to finally be asked our name to reserve a seat they said about a 25 min wait on a Saturday so we thought that’s not bad at all. Went to the bar btw Ashley the bar tender was great the only good thing from this place. She noticed we had been at the bar for way over 25 min more like 45 min she went up front asked if they had messed something up of course they did. The hostess said she had buzzed for us and clearly didn’t. So we finally got seated then order and waited an hour before our food came out with a exception of one side that they just realized they are out of a bake potato… How the hell does a restaurant run out of potatoes? By this point I was over the place so I just asked for a side salad instead and ate dinner. That I could of clearly got at a dang chillies or Apple bees and paid half the price. So with all of that said we will never be back it was my first time and my last. I would recommend to spend your money else where.

I ordered the blackened catfish and it was delicious. Just the right spiciness. The server was not very attentive, but the food was worth the visit.

Late on Wednesday night(about 10:15pm) my wife and I dined here. 1st. Walked in and the smell of filth was overwhelming(it was late and my wife said lets just eat and go) 2nd water glass was dirty 3rd. My entrée, catfish Acadian, was laying in a pool of grease and undercooked. Just bad bad food! 4th. My wives entrée, blackened chicken on mashed sweet potatoes, chicken over cooked potatoes undercooked. Bad bad bad Service was good food was terrible Won’t be back!

Well what can I say it’s Copeland’s. What a great place for for great food! I had the fried sea food platter and of course the bananas foster. The best food in the world is in Louisiana! Laissez les bon temps roulet pronounced«lay-zay lay bon ton rule-ay»

I remembered Copelands as being pretty good(except that the oysters were lousy). But our meal, the first there in years, was excellent. No one was unhappy in the least with the food or the service. My favorite was the catfish acadiane – fried with a shrimp butter sauce covering it. Lunch menu prices were good. The dish was perfect.

It was a sunday when we came here to hit up the lunch buffet. It was okay. The best part had to have been the mountain of peel and eat shrimp that they had in that boat. I went hog wild on that but eventually… you can only eat so much shrimp that you want to try something else. The Grits were good, but the rest of the buffet was terrible and dry like the sliced ribs and ham. The bread pudding was always non existent. Three stars for customer service because the waitress was good taking care of us and the shrimp boat, which was fun to work at.

Its OK — Went there for«Steak Night»(Wednesday) Unfortunately @ 6PM they ran out Filets. Really??? Ordered a Hurricane from the bar — I would reccomend not ordering this syrup drink with literally no alcohol — Took one sip told the waiter to take it back — he told me he was still charging me for it I told him I am not paying for it. Talked to Manager and I didnt have to pay. I ordered some sort of pasta with sausage, chicken, and salad shrimp in it. it was ok… something I would expect from Applebees(that is being nice). However I ordered a salad that had bleu cheese and apples in it — it was good this is why the received a 2 and not a 1. I would go next door to Longhorn and avoid Copelands.

Was in Monroe back on October 15 for bidness… lunchtime and couldn’t think of a place to eat… finally hit me that I hadn’t been in a Copeland’s in years… I’ve always loved the Shrimp & Tasso Pasta… so I saddled up the pony and headed that direction… Man, when I rolled in I had an overwhelming urge to just sit at the bar and drink the afternoon away! But, alas, I couldn’t…Damn you, Responsibilities! So I sucked it up, ordered the Chicken Scallopini and by God it was delicious! The chicken medallions were just the right thickness and cooked perfectly… the artichoke hearts were tender and tasty… After finishing the meal I wondered why had so much time gone by between visits to this location or any other… I’ll be hitting Copeland’s much sooner than later in the future!

I am traveling on business this week and stopped in at Copelands tonight to eat at the bar and watch the Saints preseason game. Copelands is one of my favorite places, so the food, as always, was awesome! I tried something new tonight: the small plate Steak Labouchere… it was really good… small steak medallions with angel hair and a rich, creamy mushroom sauce. Yesh. Also noteworthy this evening was the bartender… Chelsea, I think her name was? Anyway, the bar area was packed, and for whatever reason, there were several«crazies» up at the bar this evening. Particularly, this one old guy, who was obviously wasted, kept trying to leave without payin the bill. The bartender never lost her cool, even followed the old fella outside one time(he was being very sneaky), brought him back in, and got him to pay… all the while being very friendly AND managing to keep the other guests in the bar happy. I found the whole thing entertaining and funny, but really did admire her professionalism in handling everything. Bravo. BOTTOMLINE: Typical Copeland’s deliciousness, along with some quality people on the staff. A+
