Stay away from here. There are much better stores to go to in Lake Worth. Lester will try to trick you into buying a bike and components you don’t need & if you attempt to return anything. They charge you a ridiculous restocking & service fee. $ 75. Basically this is a desperate shop, who care nothing for business & loyalty, just your money. not to mention they are rude and creepy. Ugh. Take your money and loyalty to any one of their competitors.

So Wayne is like the Sheldon Cooper of bikes: unintentionally funny, focused, uncompromising, sometimes a pain in the ass, always a genius, and strangely… surprisingly…likeable. He will definitely correct you if he thinks you are making a mistake. That’s what you signed up for: advice from an expert. He is fair and frugal… and he won’t steer you wrong. He’s not trying to be rude or to make you feel dumb. He’s trying to educate you on how to do it «right.». You take the good with the bad when you get to work with experts. Access to someone like Wayne is a privilege. Don’t get your feelings hurt when he doesn’t act like an ass-kissing salesman. He’s not. He’s a craftsman. You could go to any big box sporting goods store and buy bike gear from a clueless kid in a polo(who won’t know – or care – to disagree with you on gear choice). Go to Wayne if you need expert advice or a meticulously thoughtful repair.

The good: interesting selection of bikes, although mainly Schwinn. But, a lot of good restorations and retro styled bikes. The bad: Wayne, who apparently owns the place, is an ass. I am an avid cyclist, I know my way around a bike shop and the pluses and minuses of various accessory-type gear(more than I know about components, for instance). Wayne, however, knows better and systematically tore down every comment I made without having enough context on my comments to have even a modicum of understanding of why my gear choices have worked out brilliantly for me. I was ready to spend a couple hundred dollars with him, but instead I walked out feeling compelled to log in to Unilocal to share my terrible experience with everyone. It’s a shame, really.
