This place was so good I PEED myself. I was overjoyed when I saw my food coming and I actually cried and praised God that I was alive. I don’t know how I will survive knowing that this food exist and that I can’t have it every minute of the day. I was here with my boyfriend and he proposed to me. My first child was born here. The waitress was so amazing helping with the birth of my child. I will never forget the sweet taste of dumpling on my lips. Every moment I thank good for have making this beautiful place.

Food is good but they need to get rid of the guy with glasses that takes your order. He’s the most ignorant and rudest person I ever doubt with, other wise I would of gave 5 stars.

This used to be my favorite Chinese take out. Last Saturday night ordered our usual and had it delivered. Made up a plate and dug into the Peking Noodles with pork and out fell a piece of medical tape and a piece of string which apparently fell of one of the cooks fingers. The manager gave us a hard time about returning all the food and suggested we just return the Peking Noodles. I think not… no telling what else was touched with a cut finger. Well needless to say we will never eat there again!

This place is open late, so that’s great. I’ve ordered from here a couple times. But I recently made the decision to order this for dinner and not my usual post cocktail, midnight refuel. For sober people, this place is gross. beef teriyaki is small and dry, general gaos chicken is like dry large chicken breasts with General gaos sauce on it. Maybe would be good for some people, but not how I like it.

Not spectacular, not awful. Was craving Chinese food after watching«The Search for General Gau» on Netflix. The flavor of the General Gau’s sauce was good, but surprisingly they used large filets of white meat, not the usual chunks of dark meat. It was possibly healthier, but a little tough. We also tried the Chicken Lo Mein due the rave reviews on Unilocal. It was bland, with the exception of the onions in the dish. Similarly, the egg rolls were wonderfully crispy, but did not have much flavor. I might try other dishes from the restaurant, or might just try a different place next time.

We order from west garden every couple of weeks. Usually we order the same thing, chicken lo mein with two appetizers and the pork fried rice with three appetizers-great deal. We get delivery and it is usually prompt. Typically we are given a window of 45 minutes but the food arrives after 20. The food is always hot and delicious. I have four stars because sometimes they mess up our order but not in a way that ruins the night.

West Garden has pretty good food. The person taking orders can be a little rude sometimes but is nicer in person. Small joint but a good takeout place.

So I love West Garden. You get what you should expect from a small take out place in terms of customer service. The lady who’s usually at the front desk can be snappy but she isn’t rude. The man who works there can be rude but whatever. The price and the food are worth it in my eyes. I love their food. The general gau is my favorite. Honestly I’ve had it prepared a multitude of different ways at different places and West Garden is still my favorite. Almost all of their appetizers are really good. I would definitely recommend this place to people. I moved to Everett but sometimes when I’m at my parents house I insist we get West Garden for dinner because I crave it. My fiancé has refused to drive to west rox to get me some general gaus! lol: p

Not the best, not bad either… average Chinese takeout. It’s my go to place for take out, excellent crab Rangoon and beef teriyaki. If you’re easily offended, keep the order uniform and brief. Razor Ray(the owner) doesn’t like to waste his time. I’ve given this place tons of business and still get a little shaken when I’m on the phone ordering and my wife has late changes or additions. The delivery guy is a sweetheart. He loves my son, usually comes in for a sec to pick gim up and say hello. The whole experience from ordering to delivery is a riot to me. The two guys couldn’t be any more opposite.

So I’ve only ordered from here once. Random weeknight, got delivery to my apartment, which is located embarrassingly close to this location(It’s winter, I’m hibernating). Anyway, I was pretty happy with what I received. Quick, friendly delivery dude,(probably because he only had to walk 90 feet to get to me) and enough fortune cookies to keep myself occupied for a good hour. And oh yeah, the food. Exactly what I was hoping for. Great chicken lo mein, like really delish. Scallion pancakes, fried rice, a few veggie dishes for the friends, it was all good all around. Definitely one of the better spots in the area. Now I could really go for some of that lo mein…

We have been ordering here for 7 years. Always great food and consistent. On this particular night the woman taking the orders must of been in a bad mood. Asked for my chicken fingers to be put in a bag rather then on top of my lobster sauce so by the time I got home it wouldn’t be soggy. She said they don’t do that for combo plates? What? You have before. I’ll give you the extra 2 cents for the bag. You know I’m in there all of the time and have been for years. Sadly, that was my last time. I walked out and went to PuPu, where the guy behind the counter also offered to put my rangoons in a separate bag as well. Why didn’t I think of that?

Best takeout I’ve had since moving to the area. Ordered at dinner time on a saturday night and the food was delivered 25 minutes later. Prices were reasonable too.

After reading some reviews of nearby Chinese places that deliver I thought I’d give west garden a try. I ordered a general tso’s chicken which turned out to be just chicken breast with sauce. The soup looked and tasted disgusting and I got sick after eating lo mein. I never ever get sick from food. Do yourself a favor and don’t eat here!

This best is a good go to for solid, good, consistent chinese delivery. The food is always good. Their spareribs, on the bone, are great. They have really good pork strips and the fried rice is good too. The staff is really nice. I always order delivery and the few times I went to pick-up they knew who I was by my order! I’ve tried others in the area, number 7 was not very good, pupu was just bad, and hong kong 888 is ok. No one beats West Garden!

Someone had recommended this place to me, so I decided to give it a try. I dined in(they have 3 tables and 2 stools at a counter). The lady was friendly and straight forward. After waiting less than 10 minutes, a guy from the back called me up and had my food ready. He was very friendly and smiled. So, my customer service experience was very good for me. Now to the food. I had ordered sweet and sour chicken with fried rice, egg roll, and fried shrimp. I knew that I shouldn’t have ordered more than 2 appetizers. That was a lot of food! The chicken were large pieces and delicious. The shrimp was oddly shaped into rings, but they also tasted delicious. The egg roll had substance to it inside and was pre-soysauced inside. Delicious! Now the fried rice was also excellent. Usually I get bland rice at most place, but this rice had flavor. I didn’t add a drop of soy sauce to my entire meal because it didn’t need it. I will definitely be coming back here when I get a Chinese craving. about an hour later! It’s a small place to eat inside, but you can certainly eat there if you want. Not a single soul came in the whole 30 minutes I was there. The phone rang off the hook, and I imagine they were all for delivery.

Home of the Chinese Food Nazi! I have NEVER had a more upsetting customer service experience than I did here. The way they treated me was, in a word, jarring. I actually left in tears. Pardon my lack of brevity here, but I feel a moral obligation to thoroughly detail just how awful it was. It was late on a Saturday night and we were famished. We called West Garden half an hour before closing. I asked if they were still serving food. He said yes, but they’re closing at 12:50, so hurry up. Really? Your sign says you’re open till 1, but fine, whatever, we’ll be there as soon as possible. I proceeded with my order. I asked if their«Chinese dumplings» were potstickers(Chinese food is very different on the east coast, so I wanted to make sure I knew what I was ordering). He couldn’t understand what I was trying to ask. After repeating the question 3 different ways I finally gave up and ordered egg rolls instead. There. Egg rolls. I’ll take the egg rolls. Is that simple enough for you to comprehend? Onto the next item. There was confusion about what we wanted to order as I was on the phone, so I told the Nazi«scratch those last two items, we’ll just get the two combo plates, ribs, and crab rangoon.» When I hung up I KNEW he would get our order wrong. Granted, I probably should have reiterated our order at the end of the call, but on the other hand, I feel like it’s THEIR responsibility to make sure they’ve got it right. No?(Yes.) Sure enough, the order was wrong. I got bitched out for ordering wrong and started crying. I’m not unusually sensitive; he was just especially mean. The customer isn’t always right, but the last thing a business should do is alienate a customer by telling them that THEY fucked up. The next time we ordered — yes, unfortunately there was a next time, as there are few other late night food options in the area — the Nazi complimented me on ordering«correctly» this time around. By «correctly» he meant a bullet point list: item, item, item. No extra words. This will ensure your order is right. Who cares about the food being tasty. You won’t catch me dead here.

This is the best take-out place around. We order from them all the time and the food has always been excellent. The General Gau’s Chicken is a huge portion of full chicken breasts — yes, that’s right — you don’t get chopped up, breaded chicken pieces here, only full chicken breasts. We recommend: General Gau’s Chicken, Pork Fried Rice, Vegetable Lo Mein, Hot & Sour Soup and Crab Rangoon. Everything is made fresh to order(while you watch, if you come in and wait). Some have noted that the staff sometimes have difficulty understanding English — this is true, however, just be patient with them — they’re very nice and will help make sure they get it right. Just speak slowly and spell things if you need to. And, plus, your patience will pay off in divine Chinese food.

OK, my girlfriend and I just had the worst experience at a Chinese Food restaurant here. The staff behind the counter didn’t understand what we were ordering, despite the fact that we were pointing to it on the menu. Their limited English made ordering a major, major hassle. Then, after sorting through everything and literally pointing to the menu, they couldn’t get the cost right, and were more than $ 10 over the right price on a dinner for two. When we asked for a look at the receipt, the people behind the counter refused and claimed we were being difficult. At which point we asked for our credit card back and cancelled the whole order. I can’t imagine a worse service experience, or a worse experience just trying to order Chinese food! We left with my girlfriend in tears at how rudely we had been treated. I hate writing reviews like this, but it was like we were on a bad prank TV show, but there was no punchline. Needless to say, we won’t be going back.
