Excellent food, pancakes are huge and yummy in the tummy! Out of the way place that serves breakfast all day. Omelets and home fries are awesome! Nice people and family diner atmosphere with good prices.

I had the crab cakes Benedict — two crab cakes covered with poached eggs and Hollandaise sauce, accompanied by home fries. The crabs cakes had an excellent flavor, the poached eggs and the Hollandaise were perfectly prepared. The home fries may have been the best I’ve eaten, not overly fried/burned like in so many places. The potatoes were perfectly tender with just enough of a fried crust to provide some crunch. Very well done. The server was friendly and attentive and this with a full dining room of customers to serve. An excellent experience. I will definitely be back and I recommend the Poked Yolk to everyone.

I have been dying to come here ever since it opened! Usually I order the same thing every time we do brunch, but I wanted to try something(kind of) different. Walking in on a Sunday, it was quite small but we were able to be seated right away. The problem with our table is that whenever the door opened, I got a blast of cold air and had to wear my jacket the entire time. I would definitely recommend wearing a lot of layers when you come. I ordered The Broken Yolk and Brad ordered a Lumberjack Waffle. The Broken Yolk was good, it was quite spicy though, I thought it the home fries should have been a lot crispier. I ended up eating half of it before switching with Brad. Brad’s waffle came with bacon and gravy. I thought it was good but rich. I could only have about 3 bites. Brad liked the Broken Yolk better than the Lumberjack Waffle, too. Our service was just okay. I did order white bread toast, because I am a sucker for white bread toast, but I heard our same waitress tell the table right next to us «our white bread is so disgusting, it comes in a brick» I thought this was very rude and inappropriate, and I don’t want to hear about a restaurant’s food being«disgusting» while I’m eating it. I thought it was good, though. Brad said he wanted to come back, but I’m indifferent. I will say when you come, be sure to get their rewards card.

NOMNOMNOM. This review is being written after my second time coming here. The first time, I got a waffle, because of who I am as a person. The second time, I got the caramel apple cinnamon French toast and wanted to cry of happiness. The French toast was a perfect amount of squishy and it wasn’t an overwhelming amount of caramel. The apples were perfect. I loved it so much. I came with Jake R(fellow new Unilocaler, everyone go add him, he loves Unilocal I swear). We came here because of the photos on Unilocal. We were scrolling through trying to decide where to go(I was scrolling through and showing him pictures to make him want to come here), and I showed him the Elvis waffle. This has bananas, peanut butter & bacon on it. It’s my actual nightmare. But his heaven. So anyway, we got here and it wasn’t on the menu anymore! However, we asked the waitress about it and showed her the Unilocal photo(not my proudest moment, but low-key proud, yes), and she said they would make it! Good lookin’ out girl. They accept credit cards which rocks. Lots of smaller brunchy/breakfast places are cash only and I’m not about that life. Overall, awesome experience. Super reasonable in price, delicious, and the staff rocks. Way to poke that yolk. X’s and O’s! J

Pretty interesting flavors for a nice, sit down breakfast or Brunch. Good, attentive service, and clean. Our server Cheryl was most expeditious and kind. Frequent diner cards given to us at the end of the meal today, too. An extra incentive to return. Priced reasonably, for the creativity and flair of the food.

Stopped here on New Years eve for some brunch and had an OK experience. Was here with my wife and three kids. Place only had a few people there so we got sat right away, but at a table that still needed to be wiped clean. Waitress did do it immediately and apologized saying she thought it was clean already. No big deal really though. Décor is a clean modern diner style and works nicely. Only complaint would be that we did keep feeling huge cold draft whenever the door was opened. Don’t know how much they can really do about that though. For food they do have a daily specials menu with some nice selections outside of your normal Buffalo diner. They also offer a kids menu $ 4.95 and comes with a drink. I ordered two that consisted of a single egg, homefries and toast and a one that was a single pancake. Got them orange juice too. My wife got something that consisted of an eggs benedict on a belgian waffle and an orange juice. And I got a country style eggs benedict, which was made with sausage, sausage gravy on english muffins. Also came with homefries. As to the food, everyone was happy with their main dish. Homefries were all under cooked though in my opinion. Not crisp at all. Probably need to order them extra crispy next time. Never got the pancake served, she must not have heard me order it though as it wasn’t on the bill either. When looking at the bill I did notice the outrageous price of my wife’s OJ at $ 3.49 for the glass. The meals were only $ 8.49 and $ 7.99 which was I thought was fair for the amount of food. So while I wasn’t wowed by my experience it was good enough that I would go back and explore the specials menu.

Had the French Toast, bacon lovers breakfast and the poked yolk, all very delicious. Great service and price. Our only complaint is they don’t serve real maple syrup but we’ll just bring our own next time!

It is so rare to find a restaurant that has a breakfast menu that doesn’t look like every other place you have ever eaten. This is the place. The menu has outside the box menu items and specials. I had crab cake benny. That’s right I said crab cakes for breakfast. With poached eggs and hollandaise sauce on it. WOW! It was incredible. The rest of my family had the lumberjack. Hash browns, over easy eggs sausage bacon and sausage gravy on a Belgium waffle. My kids talked about it for hours after. These were specials but the regular menu has other items that will definitely having me come back for more. I wouldn’t even notice this place if not for Unilocal, drove by it a hundred times. You’re gonna want to eat here, trust me

Excellent family breakfast restaurant. The big fat Greek omelet was super yummy. Kids had Belgium waffles, great! Perfect service. Will visit again.

I like this place. It’s open at a decent hour and it’s a good cheap breakfast place for the most part. When you call to order they are always friendly. When you go in everyone is pleasant. The food is a little more than decent. It’s your typical breakfasts. The bacon is good, thick and crispy and flavorful. The eggs are always done right. And the toast isn’t soggy(I hate that). The home fries are a little hearty, not crispy enough for my usually so, I order them extra crispy. It’s our go to for breakfast rather than the Denny’s across the way.

I really wish this place was closer to where I lived, because it’s one of the best Breakfast/Brunches in the Greater Buffalo Area. Even so, it’s worth the drive out to West Seneca. We made some napkin calculations, and if you’re going to one of the popular brunch spots in Buffalo, in the time it takes to wait there for a table, you can drive out here instead! Although — no alcohol, so if you want a boozy brunch, go elsewhere. So, the first visit, I had a country benny, which was sausage on muffin with eggs and country gravy. Awesome! Lee had Apple Caramel French Toast, which he really loved as well. The first time, there was a Bills game going on so the wait wasn’t too long, but the second time there was a little bit of a wait, so that sort of changes the calculations if you have something to do. I again had another benny, this time it was the Jose benny with chorizo and a tomatillo crema sauce. So Good! Lee had another French Toast concoction that he really loved. They cook bacon just the way he likes, not too crispy, but not too fatty. Their coffee is delicious and fresh, and the wait staff is really nice and friendly. This is probably my current breakfast crush. Oh, they also have a frequent diner punch card, which definitely encourages me to go back! Go try this place!

Always top notch from both service and food. Our waitresses are always super friendly and have the«tell you how it is» attitude but not in a bad way. Everyone must try the«broken yolk» meal if they come here, and also the raisin bread. I’ve also had the eggs Benedict, by far my favorite meal so far. Make sure you get their card when you place an order. You get a stamp for each specific breakfast or lunch entrée you order, and after ten stamps you get a free meal. We were not aware of this our first visit, so because of that we missed out on 2 stamps. Each time we’ve came there was no wait and still several cleared tables, so not quite so overpacked in the early morning weekday hours. Also very quick service from ordering to getting our food. We’ve had some minor mishaps such as arriving at opening time and them running a few minutes behind so we were waiting outside for a bit before we were let inside. Also the portions differed — dine in seemed much larger than when we ordered take out. Oh and if you get to try their pumpkin waffle with pumpkin drizzle do it — soo good! Besides paying $ 7.99 for only one waffle… Overall, this is my new go to breakfast place. Not exactly down the street from me, but if I’m craving some nice breakfast I will make the extra drive out to Poked Yolk.

Been here twice now, both times had to wait for a table, which is always a good sign. Both times it was worth the wait, great food, great friendly service and clean. The portions are generous and you shouldn’t leave hungry. My only suggestion would be to refill the coffee a bit more often. Other than that, no complaints at all.

The perfect mix of old timey diner feel and a fresh, modern take on classic breakfast food. The Poked Yolk was a pleasant surprise this morning. It was perfection from the first bite. You’ll walk in and see the tables packed with people wall to wall. You may have to wait but I promise you it’s worth it. Eggs Benedict — Cooked to perfection atop a slice of canadian bacon which sits perfectly on a halved english muffin. You have the option to order the home fries with pepper and onions and I would highly suggest the addition! The seasoning was so incredible. It didn’t need a dash of anything. My better half enjoyed the Three Little Pigs Omlette. Hearty yet still fluffy eggs hugging loads of bacon, diced ham, and crumbled pork sausage. Add in home fries and toast and you will be asleep on the table the instant you take your last bite. The service was fast and friendly. Great atmosphere. Couldn’t have asked for a better breakfast on a beautiful Sunday morning.

I had a religious experience here. No joke. For the first time in my life I asked for no green peppers and my dish didn’t have a single trace of green bell peppers. As I took my first bite of the Jose Benny the skies opened up, light flooded through and Queen sang«Is this the real life? Is this just fantasy…» But first, let me tell you about the home fries cause these home fries are on point, crispy on all sides with not a single burned onion in sight. Everything on the Jose Benny was delicious, from the green sauce, to the perfectly runny poached egg to the salty chorizo. Much respect to the cook who poaches those eggs, they are an artist. My SO had the broken yolk which was two over easy eggs over aforementioned homefries, onions, chorizo and chillies(Yes Virginia, this place had both jalapeños and fresh chillies on hand!) The worst part of this entire experience was that this place is so far away from where I live in the city that I will now have to make up excuses to go to the Southtowns to eat here.

Three of us stopped by for breakfast for the first time last week. We experienced the most amazing breakfasts. My hubby had«The Poked Yolk.» My sister had the«Egg Sami» and I had the«EGGstra Healthy Sami.» The only thing that we would do next time is to ask for really crisp bacon, and well done seasoned home fries with onions. Great service, menu, and food! We will be back soon.

Yay new breakfast joint! I mean, it’s out of my way, but if I need to meet any friends out on South Transit, I’m recommending Broken Yolk. I had their veggie burger which was totally awesome and the side salad I got with it was incredibly fresh and tasty. My husband had the Yolk burger and really liked it. While he’s typically a medium well person, he made the comment that when he goes back he’ll probably order it just medium. The service was great and the new restaurant is clean. We loved it and we’ll definitely be back!

Quaint little place with a subtle comfy atmosphere. I had the biscuits and gravy, with a side of corned beef hash. Biscuits were really good, and the gravy was good too. Peppery and full of sausage. My only qualm is that the corned beef was chopped a little too finely. While the potato dice was on the large side, the small confetti of beef was a little troublesome to eat. Delicious nonetheless. My friend had the breakfast burrito and added bacon to it. Which was apparently perfect to him. Chock full of eggs, cheese, chorizo and spinach. In a 12″ tortilla. He could only finish half. This is quite the little gem of a breakfast place, you might pass it if you didn’t know better. Highly recommended, give it a try!

This is probably my new favorite breakfast place. It’s in an assuming strip plaza, but the only thing you need to know is: order the broken yolk! It’s surprisingly delicious! It contains a few eggs cooked to your order and they break the yolk on one of them(unless you request them not to) so it spills over into the most amazing, lightly crisp home fries that are made with chorizo, peppers and an assortment of delicious spices. My friend ordered a waffle meat pie of sorts — I tried it and it was pretty good, but I’d definitely order the Broken Yolk when I come back. Service is friendly, ambiance is super casual — kind of like a diner. Prices are very reasonable; highly recommended!

I was in the mood for some pancakes and decided to try this place after Unilocaling around for a breakfast place that is close to home. The restaurant is in a small plaza not far from Mayer Bros Cider Mill(for those who aren’t familiar with Lancaster/West Seneca area). However, with the technology nowadays, everybody seemed to have GPS or using their phones to go places. But it’s always nice to be warned before you go to a place you’ve never been to. Warning! This cute little restaurant brought smile to my face. I like the décor and the table settings with big windows that brighten the whole restaurant. I got seated right away and lucky to be able to beat the lunch crowd. I ordered their special, Lemon Blueberry pancake, which offered a pleasant lemony flavor with burst of fresh blueberries. It wasn’t as soft and buttery as what I expected, but I still enjoy the taste. Oh silly me, not only I ordered the pancake, but I also ordered The Broken Yolk. This dish was the highlight of my day — the chorizo sausage cooked with homemade potatoes, green pepper, onions, and melted cheese, topped with 2 over medium eggs, and it tasted impressively delightful. The meal also came with some toasts. What was I thinking? Hey, you only live once, right? Other than breakfast, they also offered lunch menu such as soup and sandwiches. The prices were affordable and the service was excellent. The waitress was attentive and friendly. I ordered 1 slice of pancake and they made 2 pancakes so I only paid for 1 instead. If you’re in the area and looking for a breakfast place, check this place out. Guaranteed I won’t pay for your bill but you will go home with a smile on your face.
