Best Indian Buffet which has South Indian food(Andhra & Tamil Nadu). Lot of food options and they have many varieties in breakfast items, starters, veg, non-veg, biryanis and desserts & masala chai also. Their veg starters, tandoori chicken & fish pakoras & biryanis are the best. They also have Mega buffet once a month.

I was a bit surprised by all the super low reviews on here compared to other Indian restaurants in the area which are higher rated. I didn’t see that much of a difference between Mirchi and some of the nearby restaurants. I am not a buffet type of person(I’d rather stick to fresh items from the menu) but maybe I have to try the ‘super buffet’ at some point as I am just starting to scratch the surface of exploring Indian cuisine. 40 items seems like a lot … and they only do it once a month, it seems. I went here with a coworker and I ordered the Chicken Tiki Masala(I know … total white person move) and my coworker got the vegetable Biryani. She said the Biryani was horrible. On the menu, it seemed to be described so well but I had a few forkfuls and to me it tasted like bland rice with a bit of spice added in. I can see why she was disappointed … it really lacked flavor and texture. My Chicken Tiki Masala was good … I feel like its hard to mess that dish up. It had more of a sweet taste than a spicy taste … lots of cream … which my coworker told me is not as authentic as it should be. She said it was ‘Americanized’ tasting. We went on a Saturday night and there were only a few people eating in there.(Half Indian, half not-Indian). That seemed a bit strange as normally Indian restaurants in Westborough are packed with Indian people. The real star of the show here is the atmosphere. It is modern … kind of like a W Hotel lobby. Dim lighting, modern IKEA-ish furniture, clean. It is very relaxing and the circular booths to the sides are great for couples. It seems like the fanciest atmosphere out of any Indian place I’ve been to in Central Massachusetts. Probably a good place to go if you are craving Indian food but do not like spicy food … or if you are looking for a place to take a date or a business lunch. The atmosphere makes up for the food being mediocre. Maybe we just had an off-Biryani that night.

This is a South Indian restaurant. I went here for the buffet which was supposed to be a special buffet. They got an impressive wide array of dishes for the buffet. It’s was very busy in Mother’s Day, which is good cause there’s high turn over and the food is fresh as it could be. But I think the rush compromises the quality of flavor in this case. The biryani I felt was very sub par. The bread pudding was the best dish out in the buffet. It’s well staffed and the plates get cleared out quickly. Theres a big line and wait time for the buffet, so there’s a lot of demand as it seems to be a favorite for some people. It’s hard to tell if it’s just hype. The mango milk had too much ice which melts and dilutes the drink. I felt like there’s too much masala in the dishes, which overtakes the flavor of the dish even if the quality of the meat is high. I wouldn’t call it spicy but pungent. Their also was no Rasmalai. They need one to have one perfected signature dish. They should consider pulling down the shades of the Glass between the tables and lines. Cause it’s feels rude eating while people are hungry outside and for hungry people staring at people inside. I feel like the restaurant has the infrastructure and potential, but also a lot of demand with the increasing sub continent population in the area. So only time will tell. In comparison with the buffet at Mandarin down the street which is the same price, it was subpar. Even though it’s hard to compare different cuisines. No reservations, so plan accordingly.

I am seriously a big fan of Indian food and I must say, I was very disappointed with this place. I can’t really say it’s the best Indian cuisine I’ve ever had because honestly, I’ve taste better coming from an Indian food court stand.

I have been eating at Mirchi for years now and I love this place. Recently the quality of food during lunch buffet is down. For example if you visit on Monday for lunch buffet you would see«idly upma» or «idly manchurian». These dishes looks good but I never felt they are made fresh. I visited Mirchi on Sunday and had Idly for lunch buffet and I come on Monday and see an altered version of Idly. Doesn’t sound right to me. Please limit the number of items in your lunch buffet but don’t compromise on your quality. One day people will realize and will stop coming to you.

I think they have heard Unilocal reviews, Mirchi is lot better now in customer service. Food has always been good at Mirchi but now they have also stepped up in the customer service department. Wait staff has been re-organized and they seem to be customer friendly. I’m still giving them only 4 stars is because there is still room for improvement.

I have been there for dinner(which was good) but this review only for the lunch buffet. we have been meaning to go to their mega buffet for a while but never made it since we were confused if it was still on or not as the website did not show that info. So we just decided to go there random Sunday while visiting cousins. I have to say the buffet and the item in the buffet far out reach the ones local to my North Andover specially Bollywood grill and to some extent raagini(good food again BTW). There were good 30 items or so and it was a regular buffet. Keep up with the competition around by having more varities and good taste. The food was awesome lots of veggie apps and non veg chicken kebabs. The veggies apps were pakoras, idlis, upma, mini uttapam black chickpea/potato dry curry type. Also there was soup. This was accompanied by sambhar and rasam and two types of daal the Veg curries were really good too. Palak paneer my fav was well made with less sweetness and more of the garlic/ginger taste, there was eggplant dish, mixed vegetable, veg biryani, mushroom pulao and couple other that i don’t remember for non vegetarian there was two kinds of chicken biryani, goat curry, chicken tikka masala, chicken tandoori and there was one more item i cant remember. also there were 2 or 3 desserts along with juice/tang/Kool aid type of drinks(made indian way and way less sugary then regular kool aid) also there were salads, chutney and friend papads for go with the meal overall i was in heaven and very much impressed. This is place to visit specially on second sunday of every month for the mega 50+ dishes buffet for 17.99.

I have known this restaurant for the past 2 years. The first time i have been here was for their Mega Buffet on second sunday in Jan 2014. I was totally surprised with the 40+ items on their buffet. They had 4 types of biryani in the non-veg section(chicken chettinad, goat dum, chicken 65 biryani and chicken dum). The veggie selection was also huge and 3 – 4 varieties of desert. They had idli-sambar, uttapam and vada. All the items were good but i cannot say they are excellent which is understood for a buffet. The spice level was top notch and definitely suits andhrites. Now i was so impressed especially with the spice level that i kept going for their mega buffets much frequently. Introduced this place to so many of my friends and didn’t disappoint. Gets crowded on mega buffet days and there is a long wait so recommended to get in early. Now coming to the dine-in experience. We three families together went in for a dinner. We ordered cut-mirchi, gobi manchuria and chilli paneer for apetizers. All three were good. Then for main course we ordered paneer butter masala, navaratan korma along with garlic naan and vegetable biryani. All the dishes were top notch except the veggie biryani which we felt could have been better. We finished off with few soft drinks. Ordered two thumps-up, sprite and limca. Thumps-up and limca were out of date. They expired long back. We didin’t notice until we finished them and brought it to the staff’s attention. They did some research and declared that it was a mistake. We had to check-in ourselves next day as we consumed out of date product, luckily nothing happened to us. ***They should really check the expiry date of each and every product that they purchase***. I hope they make this a point. We were hoping to have a conversation with the manager when this happened to us but unfortunately we haven’t seen him.

Chicken 65 biriyani, chicken pepper fry, sukha ghosht(if you get good pieces), chicken lollypop, and drumsticks are very good. They have one of the best buffets in the area with plenty of options.

Best Biryani I’ve had — same with the samosa’s — you need to try this place if you haven’t yet.

These guys cannot give fried mirchi on side and their RESTAURANT name is MIRCHI, I feel bit silly. He told they cannot drop mirchies in fryer and spoil oil, then how do they make cut mirchi ? Not good answer better try other stuff.

Service: If it weren’t for the bad service, this place would have probably gotten three stars. Slow, excessively rude, incompetent staff. I sent back the masala chai I ordered because it was cold. He got me the same cup of tea after reheating it in the microwave for 40−50s. I could tell because the cup was hot, but the tea was just slightly warm. You never reheat tea — that’s Tea 101! Food: The food by itself is not too bad — it’s over-priced, but not bad. The biriyani is quite good — flavorful, spicy. The curries are good — good quantity, loaded with spices. They do taste like authentic South Indian food. However, be cautious of ordering«spicy» food; can get really spicy at times. Ambiance: Good ambiance, huge space. Summary: The food is pretty good, but definitely not worth the money. I have given this place 3 – 4 chances thinking maybe the guy waiting on us was having a bad day. But it is consistently bad. Will not be going back.

Spoilt food and bad service. Went for dinner today –Friday night 6:30pm. Ordered vadais for appetizer and it was sour. Never taste like this before. Also was accompanied by SPOILT sambar. Very disappointing. Plain rava dosai was ordered but brought in rava masala dosai with the SPOILT sambar(it had gone bad). Complained but nobody came to apologize. Asked for Manager and was not available. Probably serving left overs from the buffet in the afternoon. It used to be a good restaurant. But no longer. Not worth going here.

The quality of Mirchi food is getting bad these days!!! Especially the weekday buffet! Sometimes they serve previous day food. At least proper care should be taken to see whether the food is spoiled or not!!! The sambar that we had in the weekday buffer was spoiled. We could sense the spoiled taste while eating! sometimes fruit custard also fall into this category. I wish I could have given 0 star, but giving 1 as its the least! Hope the management takes care of food quality!

Mirchi is great place for some local indian food. The food is good definitely room for some improvement. When I went recently I just thought the service needs to become better where the waiter should want to give a good experience when you come to a restaurant. Management please train your employees to face a standard service. Thank you

Have only tried this place for the Sunday brunch, but its awesome! probably the best Indian brunch in both Worcester and Boston areas. The selection is great, accomodates both vegetarians and meat lovers, lots of spicy and non spicy options. The service is friendly, and responsive. the place itself is nothing fancy, but a great find for Indian food lovers. Place gets packed on Sundays, so come early

First of 18 $ is insane for not only a mild eater like me but for most. I met one more first timer who complained. I am only 140 +lbs, I can barely eat two plates full . A) pongal was very good B) nothing else I remember. I am a sucker for good sambar and I don’t remember implies soso C) indo Chinese was interesting bearable D) sweets were 2 ½ star

Love the food here! The goat biryani is delicious & probably my favorite dish. I’ve been here several times and service is usually quick and attentive. But this particular trip, our server continually came by to fill our water/pour more beer and generally check in on us. He was also super friendly & made some recommendations. Definitely one of the best experiences I’ve had here. Can’t wait to try the lunch buffet sometime!
