Went to this restaurant today for lunch for with my one year old son. At first impression most restaurants would not be excited to see me. More than likely going to be a small check with big hassle. Not here! I was over the top warmly greeted by a team of staff members smiling and cheerful to see my son and I. We were quickly seated and attended to by a very friendly waitress. Within minutes I realized in my rush to leave the house I forgot my wallet! Disaster. I quickly grabbed my son and ran to the hostess stand to apologize and try to cancel my order before it was too late. The manager on duty Paige(I hope the spelling is correct) immediately interrupted to tell me to please return to my table and enjoy my lunch. Not to worry. I assured her I would call immediately as I got home to pay with credit card as I of course did. The meal was outstanding! Fresh, quick, well presented. The service was fantastic and if you consider the waitress knew I didn’t have a wallet is pretty incredible. You MUST try this restaurant the food is creative, fresh and well prepared the service is phenomenal and has a wonderful upbeat atmosphere. Really a top notch restaurant for any occasion; quick meal, date or family dining. I can’t say enough about how I was treated today. Yeah 1 adult and a kid not a lot of $ but trust me very few places would have made the decision that Paige made. Kudos to you! I never write Unilocal reviews but I felt obligated to write this one to show my gratitude. I will be back again and again for sure. ABSOLUTELYOUTSTANDING. Thank you!

We’ve given it two tries now. Burgers are bland and overcooked. Entrée selections are just not appealing. We got several apps to share last time and they were overpriced and odd flavor combinations.

So, I came back here, and had much better results this time. The burger, which last time was crumbly, too juicy, and couldn’t stay together, held together this time. The only weird thing was it looked like half a burger(semicircle), but my friend who got non-gluten-free burger had the burger look exactly the same, so I think it’s just how they form them. Tasted good and was cooked correctly. The service was also better. I had no problems getting my soda refilled. All in all solid. I do not however know if last time or this time was the aberration.

I think I have been to 5 Not Your Average Joe’s and to this location around three times. Last night I was dining solo after a day trip. The place was busy and noisy inside so I requested an outdoor table which was a nice change. My server was prompt and friendly and he refilled my ice tea and brought iced water without me having to ask. He also cleared the table prior to bringing me the check which impressed me. I wanted the mustard crusted chicken but did not see that dish on the menu so I ordered the mustard crusted chicken salad. I was expecting slices from the mustard crusted chicken breast but instead the salad was topped individual pieces of battered chicken. While surprised I was not too disappointed because the chicken pieces were plentiful, meaty and tasty. To me the chicken pieces had more batter but less mustard taste than the chicken breast I usually order but was still enjoyable. The only two draw backs to this location is the restaurant is on divided road which can make going there a small effort if you are traveling east on rt 9 and the outdoor dining view is of cars from the abutting parking lot. Satisfying meal to end the day!

Ordered the summer squash bolognese… I am NOT a vegetarian but the dish sounded interesting… especially the mushroom bolognese sauce. It was so delicious! Not only extremely tasty with a «hint of a kick» but also beautiful to look at… I had the leftovers tonight with added shredded cheese — just got better and better! Kudos to the Chef!

I love their bread & olive oil dipping sauce! I could go there just for that! It’s been a while since Ive been to a Joes but the bread seems slightly more dense than I remember. But don’t worry, I managed to shove it all in my face! There was a slight wait but it went very quickly(10 minutes) on a Saturday night. Our waitress was very friendly and efficient and our food arrived hot and fast. Plenty of parking in private lot.

Great service and great gluten free food! The gluten free bread and dipping oil was just right. The lettuce wraps have the most amazing sauce. The manager was very helpful and offered to make a whole other meal when I tried something new and didn’t like it. Caitlin is an awesome server.

We arrived last night for their buck-a-shuck oyster night. At 6pm, we were informed that they were already out of oysters. There is no excuse for running out of oysters by 6pm. The manager on duty was not very polite in response. She did offer a(very small) gift certificate for a future visit, but considering my party of 5 spent $ 200 during this dinner, I find that consolation prize not very consoling. Very, very disappointing. I was left with the impression of a bait and switch and the manager needs to work on her attitude… if you’re going to put yourself in that position then at least work on your apology skills.

Busy place. Reservations can be made using open table. Food is great. Very flavorful and fresh. Service is attentive. They were very good about a food allergy for someone in our party. They handled that order separate and brought it out separately but at same time as other food. Portions are probably what you should be eating not typical restaurant sized portions with some of the dishes. Leaves room for appetizer or dessert.

This place is a rip off. I ordered a $ 7 salad and got a plate with a handful of greens and two tomatoes. I ordered a bowl of soup and they brought me a cup. They did also bring a bowl, which was nice. But, after I ate the bowl of soup I poured the cup of soup into my bowl and it was the same amount of soup. My husband paid $ 13 for an ok grilled cheese sandwich with a small pile of shredded apple on the side. Will never come back.

Ate there last night and the service was good the food was good but not spectacular it was average. The server should have advised us that two appetizers of the same item would be too much food but neglected to tell us when we asked and when my daughter had her food wrapped to bring it home she had an entire order of fries that they did not put in the to go container. Very aggravated about that. The carrot cake was disgusting and we only ate one bite of it. The server should’ve asked us if there was something wrong with it and he should’ve comped us for it.

First I need to start off saying I am not a chain food restaurant lover by any means. I am all set with frozen food that costs too much. But with that said I would pick to eat at Not your average Joes anytime! I love their bread and dipping oil. So good!!! But my ultimate go to and I can’t lie I get it every time is the salad with fried goat cheese!!! OMG so good so good so good! I have eaten at Joes in Acton and in Westboro and both locations have been great. The one in Westboro has an outdoor seating area which is a must once the nice weather comes around this area. Good food and great drinks. A go to «chain» restaurant. Fresh and tasty.

The food is decent. Service is excellent. This is not a high end restaurant however the service you will receive clearly is. The main hostess is by far and away the best hostess I have ever encountered at any place in the nation. If I owned a restaurant in this area believe me I would pay her what ever I needed to hire her.

So I went here for lunch because I was hungry and well, this place was on my way. So they promoted a fresh menu, which I was quite happy about as I am the kind of person that loves fresh stuff. The mango smoothie I got was good. For an appetizer I grabbed the shrimp spring rolls. Now, I didn’t know going in that it would be cold and I am not a fan of cold food for meals(I dislike shrimp cocktails too). Then I got the clam chowder because I wasn’t too hungry for real food. You know what I discovered then? This place LOVES mint. Like, the spring rolls were more mint rolls to me. And there was even some mint in the clam chowder! I like mint okay but this was too much for me. Maybe I’ll go back to try something else? Not sure yet…

Food is always excellent and the garlic Parmesan w/bread they serve will make your eyes roll back in your head. It’s so garlicky-cheesy-good! Waitstaff awesome.

A very good chain restaurant. Food is always consistent and the menu and some desserts will change seasonally. I am a big fan of the steak tips. They are well seasoned and cooked to temperature. This entrée comes with garlic mashed potatoes and green beans, although they are very accommodating with whatever sides you want to have. There is also an extensive kids menu, and the atmosphere inside is warm and inviting. Bar area has multiple TV’s to keep an eye on the day’s sporting events.

This review is really based on service versus the food because we actually really enjoyed the food and would have giving it a 4 star rating had the overall experience been better. I’ve been a server and I understand that it can get busy especially during the prime dinner hours. Before I go into the service experience, let me caveat this by saying that our server was very nice and had good intentions, but didn’t have any follow-through. This is how the night started: we called ahead for reservations at 6PM(hoping to get luckly) and there wasn’t any available until 8PM so we decided to be risky and show up at 7PM and wait for our 8PM reservation. The 4 of us were seated immediately and there were a few open tables. Ok — that is fine. Server comes over, get our drink order and everything was going great. Bread came to the table to so we decided to put in our entrée order and forgo the apps. I asked for silverware & napkins as we were starting to dig into the bread. 5 mins passes, I ask again and he apologizes and says he’ll bring it over with our drinks. Drinks come, no napkins :(, I ask again — 10 mins later — still nothing. Our entrees then come out and you guessed it — still not silverware and napkins — maybe the dishwasher was broken? The manager starts clearing the table next to us and I ask him and finally we get what we need to actually whip our hands and eat. It was just SOSTRANGE. Anyway, we still managed to have a great meal since our 4 entrees were well proportioned and very tasty. We had the Chicken Pappardelle, Chicken Enchiladas, Waldorf Salad with Salmon, and Margherita Pizza with Sausage — we shared everything and I would definitely get any of those items again. We’ll try this place again when we are back in town, but I really hope that they resolve either dishwasher malfunctions or perhaps get the servers to slow down a minute and actually service the tables that they have.

I stopped in alone to grab a bite to eat at the bar and watch a college basketball game, knowing full well this is not a sports bar, but I wanted to give the food a try. After going, let me reiterate, this is not a sports bar. I was the only person at the bar not on a date, and I got to watch the game with«Call Me Maybe» and other smash hits playing with the TV on mute. Not the restaurants fault, because like I said, this is not a sports bar. The bartenders were very nice and were prompt with their service. The oil/cheese mix they give you with the free bread is very, very good. I was going to get a salad, but decided on a veggie burger instead and got the salad on the side. Well, the veggie burger I did not care for very much. It was very pastey and when you took a bite, it all just squeezed out of the bun. The flavor was decent, not great, but I prefer my burgers to actually hold the shape of a burger and not just be mush between buns. The side salad I got though, now that was incredible. I ordered the poached pear spinach salad and it was delicious– I wish I had ordered it with chicken as an entrée. The pears that are poached in wine are delicious, and the rest of the salad was just as tasty. I’d be willing to retry my experience, ordering the salad… and not sitting alone at the bar.
