Sand Dollar Inn

I wanted to rent rooms for friends visiting on their summer vacation. They wanted to be within a few minutes if beaches yet not far from a few local restaurants, so I thought I would check this place out. The owner let me see a room and I was stunned by the stench of musty dampness when he opened the door. How can it smell so bad? Is there mold under their old carpets? The room had mismatched very old used furniture. Shameful! I told the owner «no thank you» and got out of there fast to breathe fresh air! No amount of Lysol would kill that musty smell, and how unhealthy for their guests ! I do not like to leave negative reviews but feel compelled to WARN FUTURE RENTERS!!!

I really loved this place. The owner was so kind to us. We were fasting and had brought bbq with us and needed a grill the owner offered the grill and supplies to go along with it! The room was small and did smell at first but once you turn on the AC it was perfect and cozy. Really great service and very kind owners with lots of stories to tell!

This place isn’t theTaj Mahal in Agra, India if you know what I mean. Don’t stay in room 21. What a disaster. I’m sorry to say I stayed in this slum on ⁸⁄₂₃. No coffee maker, no outgoing phone service, WIFI doesn’t work. The furniture look like something someone picked up at a service merchandise tag sale. It was real cheesy. The door had to be jiggled to get it to lock. There were repaired holes in the walls. The A/​C unit had only one knob. I had to remove one to adjust the other. The frig was on a night stand and when I opened the door it almost fell off of it. At least the bathroom was clean but bathrooms are supposed to be cleaned daily. For the price I expected better. If it were me, I would gut each room and start over. I’d be ashamed to admit that I owned this place.

The place is pretty rough. The room was musty and smelled pretty bad. I guess you get what you pay for.

Terrible. We thought it seemed like a great deal because the price wasn’t bad and it was by the ocean. But the place is terrible. The room smelled, the carpets were disgusting, and the walls were paper thin. I didn’t get minute of sleep, probably because the light outside the door stays on all night and there are blinds but no curtains on the window. Terrible.

OK so it isn’t much to look at from the outside, your typical roadside motel. The accommodations were fine (a bit rustic) but the bathroom was clean, the A/​C worked, and the beds were fine. What made it for us were the owners; incredibly friendly and made us feel right at home at this family run establishment. There is free continental breakfast. We were able to make a last minute reservation on the 4^th of July weekend.

Room was a little musty when we got there, but it aired out and was fine for a basic motel room.
