This is my favorite pizza restaurant. The quality is consistent. They have thin crust, the toppings are fresh not pre made, the amount of sauce and cheese is just right.

Pizza, service and prices were excellent. There is a weird vibe about it, I agree. I wouldn’t call it «family friendly» as there were a bunch of locals who clearly are regulars and take over the bar in a somewhat obnoxious way… you know the type of gross men who think it’s ok to ask a woman if they can touch her boobs. Will go back with a group or get take out, but can’t see my partner and I feeling comfortable here by ourselves.

My husband and I love this place. Great pizza and wings and tvs all around the bar. It’s our go to bar in Westerville when we want to sit up at a bar and watch a game with a few beers. It’s sort of a grungy bar, nothing fancy, but that’s what we like about it.

I LOVE this bar. It’s a great neighborhood bar. Outta not very expensive, pretty laid back crowd, and the pizza is awesome. Bartenders are better than you would expect as well.

I have mixed feelings about Classics. The Food — There is no denying they make a mean pizza and the wings are great. I always order my wings well done. The taco chicken pizza is really good. I’m a hero every time I introduce someone to it. The Bar — I go often enough because it is super close to my home but the vibe just doesn’t do it for me. It’s a sports oriented pick up place. The staff is always super friendly and the drinks are cheap. They have pool, darts Golden Tee, basketball, etc. Overall, It’s fun and the pizza is really good but if it wasn’t for the location I don’t think I would hang out here.

I love coming home to this bar. You get to see a lot of familiar faces and they have CHEAP drinks. The staff is top notch, they treat customers like family. They have a heated/sheltered back patio for smokers. The pizza is some of the best in Westerville and I always indulge when I return to the area!

I was very disappointed with taste of pizza. Didn’t like the sausage. Brownie bites seemed over baked crisp on outside. Not what I expected. All in all, a disappointing dinner. First time ordering there for many years. Delivery time as expected. Pricing ok.

This place is about as good as it gets for starting out your night. Great drink prices, pool, golden tee and Classics Pizza in the same place. The food is amazing and the bartenders are always attentive.

The fact they call themselves a Sportbar is a joke. This is not the first time I have been there during a major sporting event and been disappointed about the experience, but this will be the last time. We went there over the weekend and during the Dayton vs Florida game of March Madness. We asked the bartender if the game would not only be on the TV’s, but would the volume be on during the game, she said«she thought so». With that we sat down and ordered a beer and also walked next door and ordered a pizza. By the way, it wasnt until we ordered our beer and paid for it that we found out they had a Bucket Special, she failed to mention. Oh well no biggie as we decided to leave after our first beer anyway as it seems that the promise of volume for the big game was only a dream. And that listening to Bön Jovi was the preference of, if nobody else the staff worknig that day So it seems that Classics calling them a Sports Bar is just a lure to get you in there. So dont fall for it as we will never again. Oh yea and dont order the BLT pizza either, it was aweful too.

Music is too loud — it impedes conversation with the person next to you(and I could tell how loud it must have been when I walked out and took a couple of minutes to adjust to normal quiet). The high metal ceiling probably doesn’t help with the acoustics. Food is served from a separate counter. All food is in disposable containers(presumably to keep clean up easy, but trash cans were overflowing). Pizza was pretty good for a local bar. Thin crust. The wings were disappointing. Really small bones in some were the thinnest I’ve seen in a wing. Sauce was okay. For domestic bottles — discounts during happy hour and on buckets of 5 — 6 beers. Bartenders were good WHEN we had their attention. But they each had smart phones they spent lots of time on and food they were eating from other restaurants — those things sometimes came before serving drinks. I wouldn’t make it a point to go back. But, if others wanted to, I could go for cheap drinks and pizza(especially if the group didn’t mind it being too loud to talk to each other).

Some of the best wings you can get from a pizza place that even rival that of some ‘wing houses’. Pizza and subs are good. Overall best pizza you can get in Westerville.

I was told they were open(the pizza window) until 11 but when I got there at 10:17 the window was closed and we couldn’t order.

Don’t let the dark man cave and odd smell stop you from venturing inside… once there you’ll find really great prices on beer and plenty of people-watching opportunities. Okay, so this place is a bit difficult to rate. Although the pizza is good, it isn’t really a restaurant to go eat food; its a place to order some muchies(pizza included) when you need something to soak up the bucket of long necks that didn’t even make it until kick-off. Its a dark bar with a lot of TVs showing whatever sporting event is happening at the moment. Its décor is designed as many college bars are; solely focused on ease of clean up(the floors are concrete and from the bar area to the bathrooms, it seems you could ‘hose the place down’ when necessary). It is typically loaded with dudes, but on game day its a diverse crowd of all ages. Underaged kids aren’t supposed to be in there, but I don’t think they enforce this rule during the day. The service could be a lot better, and if I had to describe it best, I’d say«no-nonsense yet attentive». The servers don’t want to be your friend, or hear about your day or even your experience there in the moment; they simply want to make sure they serve you a really cold beer precisly when you are ready… which to some is the only way to describe service, but I often yearn for more. The crowd gets interesting after the game day crowds exit and the evening set arrives. Many times I thought studying the flow and demographics at Classics would be an interesting anthropological study, but I’m not sure I could hang out there without having some beer. It simply isn’t a cozy place, but those who frequent it, don’t mind. Its a popular hang out for happy hour professionals and college students alike. Its a bare-bones minimalist décor, with cheap cold beer and a walk-up food counter with decent pizza… classic.

Great pizza. The rest strikes me as pretty standard bar-scene stuff(which I like.) Fun times.

This is a fun place to go to pretty much anytime. Their sandwiches and pizza are very good and inexpensive. The bartenders take care of customers in a timely manner. The beer is reasonably priced and there are also daily specials. The jukebox is good and the volume isn’t too loud. The patio is one of the best in the area and even nonsmokers hang out there. I usually go alone because making friends here is very easy. Would recommend.

I was suprised of the size of the bar and glad to see there is plenty of seating and its clean and child friendly. I don’t think the other classics pizza locations have an area to dine in so this was perfect. The kids working were nice, you order at the window, get a buzzer and sit in the bar next door. We got the cheesy garlic bread, 2 loaves which is generous, real mozzarella but no garlic, still ok and a descent price. I got a veggie and an italian sub, both were fine, nothing special, but not bad. The pizzas also a pleasant suprise since alot of places really suck. Thin crust, not much sauce but both the pepperoni and the bacon pizza were very generous with the meat and it tasted great, crunchy and of descent quality. In all not bad, beats Donatos and most other delivieries anyday, I still prefer a thick crust, Papa Johns or something more upscale anyday.

Classics is my home bar aka one of the only bars I go to when I come back and visit my parents and friends. My friends and I ALWAYS come here since it is in close proximity to all of out parents houses. The reason why this is one of the best bars in Westerville is because of the people, the price, the food, the location and the ambiance. Depending on what day you come into Classics you will encounter some different age groups of people. If you come in on a Friday, Saturday or Sunday you will encounter a packed bar full of people in their mid twenties and thirties. If you come in on a regular week night you will see a wide range of people from low twenties to mid fifties. For the most part, Classics tends to be a working professional type of bar even though it has a nice hole in the wall feel to it. When walking in to Classics, to the immediate left is where you can order food. They have a good selection of regular bar food and cheap pizza. When walking into the bar area(the food area is tiny compared to the rest of the bar), to the left is a dart board and basketball shooting game. Straight ahead is the bar which is a a horseshoe bar that is the main attraction of the bar and takes up a great deal of its space. There are a ton of seats at the bar and the entire right side is taken up by the bar seating. When walking to the left of the bar past the basketball game you will encounter tables and then 3 different pool tables. There are bathrooms to the right of the bar that are kind of nasty, but what do you expect its a bar. Around the entire bar is a ton of plasma TVs. So many that it is almost impossible to not see one in your vision at all times. If you keep walking to the back of the bar you will see an door leading to the outside area. THISOUTSIDEAREAISONEOFTHEBESTPLACESTOKICKIT!!! Classics just redid the outside area and ITISCOVERED100% INTHEWINTER it is nice and cozy out there with their heaters on. Outside is a projector on the wall that is always tuned to a sports game. Prices are great. As a poor college student I can easily afford most everything. Domestics are $ 2.50 for bottle or draft. Selection of drafts are limited, so do not expect to get a craft beer on draft. They do have specials that you can see on their facebook page. The best deals/specials Classics have are their 5 buck pitcher nights every Sunday and Monday and their happy hour buckets are either 6 or 7 beers(depending on how early you get there for happy hour as its extended times) FORONLY10BUCKS! I have no idea how you can not love this place. This is probably the classiest style of «hole in the wall» bars that you can find. If your a smoker, the patio is well heated with a nice HD projection screen. This isn’t a «sports bar» as most place go, it’s more like a gathering of the locals. You’ll find any age group here having a great time. For me the food is great. I stop off here once a week for dinner for the kids, I love the poppers and the BBQ chicken pizza is great. Their wings aren’t the best in the city, but for a Wednesday night it’s killer. Being a guy in my 30’s I love having a place close to home that I can take my biker dad to and have a beer and talk. I’ve always met great locals, just a wonderful hometown bar.

There will always be a special place in my heart for this crazy place. My soon to be boss took me here after a string of visits to spots in the arena district during my recruiting trip to columbus. I had never been to this underrated city before and while i enjoyed the arena district, the brick buildings, energy, and crowds, I just feel i was experiencing the ‘real’ columbus. Classics was our last stop and I will never forget it. Greeted by loud music to accompany what seemed like a million tv’s showcasing every sport played nearby we took a seat at the bar. My boss told the bartenders I was contemplating a move to c-bus from NYC and from that point on I was in trouble. These guys went out of there way to show me a good time, mixing all kinds of drinks and telling me hilarious stories about life in c-bus. I had more fun than new year’s eve in times square. Perhaps, my boss paid these guys off but I left feeling really good about a move to columbus. Great people, great place.

Classics Pizza & Sports Bar used to have one thing going for it — it used to be the first and only sports bar in or even near Westerville. Well, that isn’t the case anymore. Most of the restaurants in this former dry town now serve alcohol and you are better served by going to almost any of these places. Classics is an attempt to cash in on the small Otterbein college population in the area by combining some of the worst types of bar conventions into one, miserable experience. First, the music is blaring so that you can’t hear yourself think, let alone follow the score of the game. I will never understand sports bars that feel the need to play music at a decibel level that would be considered a crime against nature by many international courts. Well, this bar is one of those and the music is always on. I have to admit that even if the music was good, this would still be a problem, luckily I’m not forced to justify that as the music is rarely ever good. Expect the T-pain robot-voiced song of the week and a lot of it. If you can get past the music the TVs are decent. Nothing special, but they are not offensive to the eyes either. They are sorta placed weird if you aren’t sitting at the bar, but for the most part you should be able to see what is going on in your sporting event of choice. The number of TVs could be a problem during busier times of the year. If there is a big game in one sport, the majority of TVs are likely to be fixed on that and there just aren’t enough spare ones to keep up if there are other events going on that night. The bartenders are a crap shoot. Even the same one can be moody one night and a delight the next. They are never mean, but they certainly seem to know who their regulars are and if you are not one of them, don’t expect equal treatment. The bar is a four-sided ordeal with plenty of stools, but if you are sitting at the far end of the bar away from the bartender have fun shouting something fierce to get their attention. The drinks on the other hand are too expensive and anything mixed is a ripoff. They seem to be under pouring their shots, or at least under pouring the standard 1.5 oz. From what I can tell they pour in about 1 to 1.25 oz. which may not sound like much, but when you consider you are paying 5 bucks and only getting 2⁄3 of the alcohol that you were expecting it is easy to realize the ripoff. The place does have two pool tables, which are well maintained and are probably the best part of the bar. You have plenty of room to play and there is enough light to see what is going on. The back door is right behind the pool tables and people often go out that door to smoke, so if you are rather adverse to cold, that may become a problem because it can get a bit chilly during the winter time. Seating is plentiful. The bar has never been that busy when I’ve gone there, but I’d imagine that if it were busy it would not be that uncomfortable. The bathrooms are clean for a bar, but this is Westerville after all. Another huge problem with the bar is the location and the cops in the area. The bar is in a strip mall with things like Giant Eagle and Panera, and it leads out into a huge parking lot. After all the other businesses close the only cars in the parking lot are the cars that are attending the bar. I never feel comfortable drinking because I’m always afraid I’m going to go that .01 over and end up spending the night in the drunk tank. If I were a Westerville cop and I wanted to make my quota I would seriously just make an hourly stake out of Classics. Classics also serves pizza and the pizza is adequate, but nothing special. I feel like that should be the bar’s tag line: Come to Classics, It’s Nothing Special. The menu also includes salads, burgers, subs, and wings(bone and boneless). I’ve only tried their pizza once, when some friends had it delivered. We just had a pepperoni pizza that tasted like we had some dough mixed in with our grease. It wasn’t a bad pizza, but it is really hard to make a bad pizza. Delivery was pretty speedy from what I remembered and the food arrived hot. Not bad, but probably better enjoyed if you were already sitting in the bar and you got hungry. For those of you who don’t want to tip your drivers there is a window when you first walk into classics where you can pick up your carry-out orders. Items on the menu range from $ 9 — $ 15. If you find yourself up in Westerville and you are desperately in need of a place to go drink and eat some decent food while sports plays to a deafening soundtrack, well, head to Classics. If you want something in the area that is better in every way? Check out Old Bag of Nails to the south in Uptown Westerville or Rusty Bucket to the west on Polaris Parkway. The reason this place is getting such a low rating from me is that I just can’t understand why a sports bar is trying to make itself a dance club or something of that nature. It needs to do away with the music!
