Pancake House

While this is a little bit of a trek if you live in Columbus proper, like Starliner Diner it’s worth the time.
Friendly, knowledgeable service. It’s one of those places that you feel right at home right away.
I had the Breakfast Wrap with Chorizo which might sound boring… it’s not. Very flavorful. Because I have to try everyone’s biscuits and gravy I got a side to give it a shot. Probably the best I’ve had in the area.
They have their own house made hot sauce which is available for sale. It’s great.
Highly recommend you make the trip!

I finally convinced my husband to go here even though he’s not a big fan of breakfast foods, but we were both pleasantly surprised! For such a small location, the staff is very fast and kind, and the food was great. Breakfast and lunch served. Can’t wait to go again.

Stumbled upon The Pancake House by accident. That first visit I pondered whether my experience was a fluke. I sat at the counter and asked a lot of questions, I know you’re surprised that I engaged in a conversation. Jose prepared me a chorizo wrap and we added jalapenos and onions… size was way larger than I’d anticipated. Service was attentive, engaging and professional. Ask about Jose’s HOT SAUCE… Be sure to use it while you’re sitting there. The max capacity I’m unsure of but it’s worth a wait if you encounter a full house. Try to learn about these guys buying the diner and how things have changed. Jose makes things grin scratch! Oatmeal Pancakes, Buckwheat Pancakes, regular pancake mix, Spaghetti Sauce… he doesn’t use packaged products for things like this.
Today I went back with my adult son. He’s a biscuits and gravy snob… he grew up with my sister making milk gravy with bologna or sausage and knows good from nasty. He chowed on three biscuits and gravy and he insists that he prefers this definitely over Bob Evans.
Be sure to consider the daily specials… meatloaf is not a packaged product just sayin.
THE PANCAKE HOUSE on Shrock near Main in front off Kroger is definitely worth a drive.

Terrible service, pancakes were as bad as instant ‘just add water’, and overly expensive for the quality. The place is really small so the number of patrons made it looked packed. Won’t be back.

I love this place! Great service! Great food! I had the Belgian waffle and bacon. Delicious. Husband had biscuits and gravy and a pancake which was also amazing. I don’t know what kind of butter they use but that’s also delicious! This place is small so go early or avoid the weekends. Totally worth it though. Can’t wait to go back and try something else!

The pancakes are great, the eggs and bacon are on point. I’d give this place a 4; but I ordered the apple pancakes and was disappointed to find they were from a can. Thus, a 3 star rating.

Best place in town to get breakfast the service is great food is always hot and you don’t pay and arm and a leg for it

Ordered #4. Came with eggs, hashbrowns, french toast and sausage links. French Toast wasn’t anything spectacular. I was actually pretty disappointed with how small the pieces were. Guess I have been spoiled by other places. The syrup was not that great either.
Service was good, pleasant wait staff and it’s clean inside. Pretty small seating area. This place was just so-​so. Decided to go here instead of our usual spot (the best breakfast sandwiches) and wish we would have stuck with our normal spot. Probably won’t be back as we just weren’t impressed

Excellent food and friendly staff. Really good prices. Corn pancakes are delicious. When there for brunch with the girls and we’re all very happy. Definitely coming back soon

The staff was friendly, which is the reason for 2 stars instead of 1. The food was mediocre at best. I had to request replacement silverware due to dried food on the first set. As I was waiting for my meal I noticed an employee putting coffee grounds into filters. He was handed a tip & continued to handle the coffee filters and grounds without washing his hands. Currency is filthy; that is food handling 101, you NEVER handle food after handling money without washing your hands. One visit was enough for me, I will not be back.

Was looking for a new place to try in the Westerville area and Pancake House turned out to be a great choice! I was taking my grandmother to breakfast so I was really hoping the whole experience would be good and Pancake House did not disappoint. The ambience is really nice (small, quaint, old school), and the service was fantastic! Very friendly, frequent topping off for coffee, and the food was out very quickly! The staff was really on top of it!
The food itself was also very good! Both my grandmother and I got the 2 eggs, bacon, and 2 buttermilk pancake meal. Everything was brought out exactly as ordered (bacon was perfectly crisp!) and the food was delicious! What more could you ask for in a small diner? Highly recommended!

Worst service and food Sunday… crispy bacon came raw and we had to go to another table to get syrup and all other condiments. No check was brought so we walked to counter and WAITED about 10 mins or more!!! Told the person ringing us out how BAD EVERYTHING WAS she said NOTHING I CAN DO and kept ringing us out after I said let me speak to someone… finally after she charged us our waiter FINALLY came over and took name and # to have mgr call… STILL WAITING

This place is dirty and gross. We killed two earwigs while we were there. One was in the sugar container on the table! The food is nothing special, we went there for the coupon in the Valpack, but we will not be going back.

The pancake house was a big disappointment. The food was greasy the pancakes we’re nothing special. the problem that was worse than the food was the lack of simple sanitation practices in the kitchen. The cook was was using his hands without gloves to handle raw meat and then touch partially cooked and cooked food without washing them. It was disgusting.

There are new owners in town. They are more attentive to the customers. They are using more real food than process stuff. I am happy to see the change. Keep up the good works.

The food and staff is truly amazing and friendly. I hope they are looking for a new location because they have lots of business and not enough sitting area. But it some how works out! We will be back!

Pancake house is a basic diner. Very little seating and the food is consistently decent. It’s not necessarily anything stellar or special, but the servers are really friendly as is the owner and cooks. It’s a good place to go if you want a break from the big chains for breakfast. Cozy, homey atmosphere.

Great food at a reasonable price. Everything was cooked perfection as we ordered. Tell your server what you want to eat, and they will put together the best meal option for you. I’m sure other reviews will tell you the pancakes are good and very large. There are not that many tables available. Parking is very limited. Shopping center parking is right nearby.

Like stepping back in time, where life was slower and people friendlier. Food was hot and filling! Consider sharing stack of pancakes. You get 3 plate-​sized pancakes and sadly, had to leave some behind. The cornmeal ones are yummy! Biscuits and gravy with two eggs over easy, hit the spot. But the gravy, or sausage in it, could have been a bit spicier. If you are looking for a great tea selection, bring your own. :-)

Great little diner. Not very large and parking near the restaurant was limited. Staff was very kind and accessible. I think it was a lighter traffic day so this probably gave them more time than usual but lucky for them and my review. They were accommodating and the prices were extremely reasonable for the quantity.
Tried the chorizo and eggs. (Weekend special) Came with hash-​browns and I had them add some gravy. They give you lots of additional choices and I picked the two pancakes over the toast. The chorizo was good and spiced perfectly. Hash-​browns were pretty standard but the gravy was delicious. Pancakes were good. Nothing unique but still hot the spot.
Overall was tasty, staff was kind, and fair prices. Def going back.
