Love the food here and the staff. They’re unexpectedly closed way too often though. We pull up and cry out front regularly. We still eat breakfast though… just somewhere else. :(

We made it here once before and really liked it, decided to come back on 6÷23÷16 and they are closed, a neighbor business owner said they are trying to sell.

Haven’t any idea how the food is, because every time I’ve gone, they’ve been closed. People are inside, so I guess they just lock up when they feel like it. I have a Groupon coupon that’s worthless now. And yes, I went at the proper times that they were advertised to be open.

Normally I’d give them a much higher rating. But two weeks in a row now not open. Last week we show up and late open was written in the window. This week The cooks didn’t show up and not open. The hostesses said they texted the owner and he gave them another number and they were trying to get in touch with that person and was having no lo luck. As long time customers I find this to be bad and they might have just lost two customers.

We had great food and great service. Go for the toast stay for the meal. The corned beef hash was amazing

Fantastic food and very inexpensive. Was disappointed that the biscuits and corned beef hash had sold out before we got seated, because they looked awesome. An order of pancakes is two pancakes that are enormous enough for a family of four to share as a side. It’s very small and in a strip mall location but the service was great.

The food & service has definitely gone down since the last time I’ve been here, kinda sad cause the food still looks some what amazing. Let me tell you why… — I waited for 15 minutes party of one, while 3 people went ahead of me. Wasn’t to happy about it but whatever… I’ll stand there and wait patently. There was a place at the bar, which I eventually got sat at. — My waitress brought me orange juice instead of apple juice but went and brought me the right drink, no big deal. I didn’t mind them being short with me as they were moderately busy and could tell they must of had a bad morning. — My waitress never returned to check on me, I ran out of juice and felt I had food lodged in my throat(my fault for eating to fast) but I had to get up and bug the life up out of another server to get more juice so I could breath. — Not only was my food was really salty, it didn’t taste that great and I never got my fruit salad I ordered. Until after I paid for everything and was walking out of the door. My food sat longer than 5 minutes on the rack and the folks who came in after me had there food way ahead of me. — The way some of the cooks handled the food looked to be very unhealthy such as grabbing garbage cans with gloves on and then touching food with the same gloves without changing them. I remember when they had a A-team and everything was on point. I unfortunately will not return again.

This place is still awful… well at least the service is. Waited 15 min up front and were the only customers waiting to put our name in. 2 servers walked by and no greet. No host and no help. It didn’t appear anyone was having a good time there. Looks like it may have become a lost worse. Wasn’t able to try the food since they didn’t even make eye contact. This was a chance I should have known better.

Awesome food and amazing service! Stayed at Easton and we wanted a non-chain restaurant. Took us about 8 minutes to get there from Easton. My friend had the corned beef and it was amazing. They slow roast it overnight and it was tender and not full of salt like most places. I had the two egg platter. It was a lot of food. The homemade bread and biscuits were amazing. Can’t wait to go back and try the Reuben which uses the amazing corned beef.

Typical diner seating ! We both had the corn beef hash with 2 eggs and toast! The dish was delicious with huge portions! The tiny potatoes and fresh corn beef will make at least two more meals. The wheat toast was yummy and very fresh.

This place was AMAZING! We sat at the counter where we were able to watch them make all of their magical yumminess! It was helpful, as we were able to Oooh and Awww over the food and decide what we were going to eat… I decided on the signature corned beef hash… I was not disappointed! The plate was HUGE… Came with delicious, tiny-diced hash browns that were seasoned to perfection, a mountain of their mouth-watering corned beef hash, topped with two eggs made to your liking. As if all of that weren’t enough, you get your choice of bread. I chose the homemade white bread. The bread was heavenly! I was trying to figure out how I could get behind the counter and smuggle a loaf of the bread out of there. I am a gal with the appetite of a 500 lb man and was only able to finish about ¾ of the meal… VERY healthy portions! Our experience was great and we will be going back very soon!

Best breakfast makes delicious homemade bread and rolls and real homemade corn beef hash. For any of those dishes alone, it’s worth a trip. The staff is friendly and will accommodate requests for substitutions. They also have a good house hot sauce. Their eggs and omelettes are pretty much what you might expect. They’re delicious but a bit heavy and greasy(which is not always a bad thing). The egg dishes are also on the monochromatic side, that is the eggs, potatoes and veggies all take on a sort of grayish cast, which doesn’t necessarily impact their flavor but is not as appetizing in appearance as it could be. Handling the potatoes in such a way as to reduce oxidation and more discreet grilling of ingredients would solve this problem. They do not offer tomatoes as an omelette ingredient(one of my favorites) but they do have a salsa that you can ask for. I eat here several times per year and will continue to do so.

Well I stopped by yesterday to give it the old college retry but alas they were closed due to repairs. Um a lil birdie said they had a public health inspection and failed it. They closed during business and were closed again today soooo take your life into your own hands eating here.

When I moved to Westerville in 2012, I was so excited to find this place. Everything had a home made feel and taste. That was THEN. Now, with new management/ownership or whatever, they have replaced many wonderful ingredients with pre-packaged items from their food distributor. They used to have the best breakfast sausage anywhere around. Now, it’s the same stuff you can buy at Wal-Mart. The«home style» hash browns? Now they are diced so small, you need a spoon to eat it. The corned beef hash used to be AMAZING! Now, it tastes like they are using pre-cooked corned beef, whereas they used to prepare it in house. The morning cook that was always there, and always consistent, is gone. I miss her! Now, there is a new face every several weeks. Its like they always are training, and my food suffers. I understand a good business must control costs, but you lost what made this place unique. You took what got this place on the map(and PBS), and gave it up. The food is still decent, but no longer exceptional or unique. Sad to see it go.

My husband and I had a pretty good first experience here. Our server was very friendly and helpful. She started out by asking us if this was our first time, which I always appreciate. When we answered that yes, it was, she began to tell us some highlights about a few of the dishes. It was clear that she loves the food there — her enthusiasm as she talked about the food was very genuine. Before we even got our food, I decided that we are definitely going to have to come back here. There were some very yummy-looking things carried past my table while we were waiting for our order. As a matter of fact, from the looks of the different dishes I saw, and based on my first experience here, I will probably have to go back many times. I ordered one of the specials — a breakfast burrito. It had eggs, onions, potatoes, choice of meat(I requested sausage), and choice of cheese(I got the cheddar). It came with a side of salsa and sour cream, and I ordered a side of the sausage gravy. Honestly, the burrito needed none of those… it was the best breakfast burrito I’ve ever had and was amazing with nothing extra on it. My husband’s experience wasn’t quite as good as mine. He is on a quest to find the best biscuits and gravy anywhere, so that’s what he ordered when she told us that both were homemade. Unfortunately, he was disappointed. The biscuits were a little undercooked and the gravy was a bit tot«floury» tasting. He said he would give the biscuits and gravy 2 stars. He also ordered a side of bacon. He really liked the bacon. He likes his bacon crispy and said he would give the bacon 5 stars.

Perhaps it’s time to close the doors when the staff outnumbers the customers. Lunch on Wednesday and the place looks empty. One customer at the counter when we arrived. Place looks in desperate need of a health inspection. Backsplash of stove, grill and deep fryer look like they have not been cleaned since the place changed owners. They are fast! Maybe too fast as I watched then pour a basket of fries directly from the fryer onto a guy’s plate without waiting to shake off the extra grease. When he picked up his sub it looked soggy. The food is okay for a diner. But the price is too high for the quality. I think the patrons have figured that out which is why there is no longer a lunch rush. The owners(who were not around today) have not figured that out. This used to be a diner like the bar on Cheers, where they knew everyone by name. Now there’s a different person at the grill each time I go. They don’t know my name cause they haven’t asked and I pay cash. I don’t know theirs because they don’t wear a name tag and they are not friendly. They serve, they cook, but that’s it. Their chicken salad is good. But for the rest the specialize in grease. Perhaps great after a bender, but they open too late and close too early. I guess I go for nostalgia. While a few years ago this place was made famous on a PBS breakfast show, this is no longer the same restaurant. Sad.

Somehow, despite growing up literally five minutes away, I’d never visited The Best Breakfast until just a few months ago. I’m doing my best to make up for that, though, by getting my wife, my friends, and anyone else I can conveniently lay my hands on over there as much as I can. It’s a «basic» place — and I mean that in a very good way. You don’t go here for Avant-Garde breakfast. You don’t go here for fusion plates, locally inspired tapas, or white table dining. You know what you do go to The Best Breakfast for? Pancakes the size of a manhole cover, stacked four inches high. Corned beef hash with massive chunks of delicious protein and potatoes. A plate of sausage gravy with fluffy biscuits that you can use as flotation devices in the event of a water landing. Snarky, friendly, service from a staff that will remember your name, what you ordered last time, and what you like after just a visit or two. It’s a great example of the kind of places that used to be in every town, and we’re lucky enough to still have one here.

When it come to mom & pop local breakfast spots. Homey Diner is it ! Seriously, people are waiting in line to get in here. I Unilocaled it and knew I wanted to try the slow cooked«Corned Beef». Was amazing. Also they only use local baked loafs of bread. Thick cut & toasted on the spot when ordered. Excellent. Worth the drive from town.

This amazing breakfast /lunch location tucked back in strip mall off westerville road next to Larry B’s bar. It’s quite small so if you go in the mornings I’m saturday or Sunday expect a wait or to sit on the bar area. Little mom and pop breakfast place with thick bread. If you sit on bar stools you can see the food made in front of you. If you order orange juice the glass is huge. …not your typical small Bob Evans sized glass. First time there I ordered eggs, potatoes and bacon with side of white bread. I added onions and cheese to my eggs. It was great. They also make their own hot sauce which is excellent. The second time I went, I came around 11am on saturday compared to 10am on saturday the first time and was able to sit at a table. I ordered the steak and eggs breakfast which came with potatoes and side of wheat bread. .it was delicious and the steak was good. Servers always friendly and service is quick. I know this place is known for their breakfast sandwiches which looked amazing. I might try that the next time. You do have option of meat on most plates to choose between sausage, bacon, and Ham. The ham is super thick and looked delicious. I give this place excellent rating. Definitely be sure to check it out!

I love diner-ey/dive-y establishments for a good, filling breakfast and this restaurant certainly fills the bill. Here are the highlights of my recent visit: 1. Good, hot coffee that is flowing aplenty. 2. Friendly, fast service. 3. 7 am open time = breakfast before going to work! 4. Delicious omelet(veggie) served w/salsa. So huge that it’s big enough for two meals. Cons: Stop using styrofoam! I’ve also tried the Italian sub off the lunch menu and, as expected, it was quite delicious. And again, HUGE. Definitely enough for two meals. Overall, a very pleasant neighborhood diner.

There is nothing like having breakfast cooked on a seasoned flat top. Greasy food needed after a long night. This hit the spot. This place is not elaborate by any means and has a diner feel. The waitress was very nice and helped give us with our order by providing tips and heads up on portion sizes. The potatos were just as good as home and the bread on the side was buttery and perfectly toasted. The center of my breakfast was a veggie omelet. I made sure the omelet was cooked well to ensure it wasn’t runny. The omelet was a little over cooked, which i was worried about but it was just like i would have cooked at home. This location is a stretch for me to drive to so it won’t be on my regular rotation but worth coming again.
