The only time I’ve gone to this beach was because I tried to get on to Cupsogue and got turned away because the parking lot was full. Only made that mistake twice. Now I make sure I’m on Dune Rd by 9am on the weekends so I don’t get turned away and have to end up paying $ 20 to park at Pikes Beach…$ 20 !!! Just to park. Total rip off!!! They have bathrooms here but no concession stand if that is your thing. An ice cream truck is usually parked there all day though. Pikes Beach is a lot less crowded than Cupsogue because the parking lots here are pretty small. The beach itself is very clean.

Come with a Southampton town resident during«the season» or with anyone you damn well please the other 9 months of the year. Along with Rogers, it’s better and less remote than Cupsogue, and less frequented by people who will never return(oh, and people who cannot swim yet challenge rip currents). Parking spills over across the street and I’d imagine mirrors the # of folks they allow in, which is a positive restriction. There tends to be an ice cream truck of some sort stationed in the lot when it’s full, though I’ve never tried to breach the boundaries on foot for some treats.(I was 93% sure I’d reviewed this joint previously)

I like Pike’s because the sand is white and clean. The people are friendly and when it’s crowded it is still NOTHING like a crowded public beach. You’ve gotta be a local resident to use the beach, so that helps keep the crowds down. Bonus for having a lifeguard on duty, bathrooms, showers and a safe vibe where you leave your shoes at the end of the pier. Even waves for surfing!
