Welp, it is Cisco’s now and if you ask me this place should probably catch ablaze like the last Cisco’s in it’s exact spot. I haven’t seen worse bartenders in my life than the jokesters they employ there and not to mention a very lightly stocked bar by the dance floor. On a brighter not, the bar on the upper level is much bigger. Charging cover for a place that has a dance floor the size of my office is ridiculous. The outside patio is larger than the inside. Whether you are inside or outside you feel like a sardine because of how small the place is. I recommend you go there only on a week night if you want to grab dinner or catch a game. Weekends there suck!

Love the décor! Located in soccer-mom suburbia, it’s sophisticated without being garish and the food is quite tasty, and presented prettily. It’s more of a Friday– or Saturday-night date place, and if you’re not coming with a romantic interest or s.o. could feel a little awkward, courtesy of the dim-lighting and cozy seating.

I have been to this place a couple of times and every time is a fun and new experience. I like the setting it has: in the restaurant and in the club. The the rolls and the main dishes are good. You just have to now what to ask for. The staff here are nice and helpful.

Ehhhh… WARNING: If you own a bank of america card you might not want to use it and just use cash. It’s hard to explain, but they add this % charge to your card. Basically, they assume youre going to add a tip anyway so they kind of do it for you. However, DON’T worry they(BOA) will get rid of this charge in a few days, so don’t freak out when you look online at your statement. So just watch your bank account to make sure they do this. So keep you receipts just in case. Suki gets tons of calls and they didnt charge you but BOA. AGAIN, the actual price that you paid for at the bar will be fixed/adjust in a few days, just watch your account and make sure. It is a new thing BOA does, but it doesn’t actually take the money that you didnt pay for out. Example, I bought a drink for $ 9, I gave $ 2 tip and the charge I see on my account is like $ 20. But in a few days BOA will adjust the charge and charge you the $ 12 that you paid for and not the $ 20 you see on your account. Just to make things less confusing, bank of america users, try cash instead if possible just so you don’t have confusion. :D Nothing major since they are suppose to adjst it back, but kinda a downfall by BOA. I could really pass on this place, well at least on Saturday nights. I was just bored. The décor is nice. Outside: the patio gets extremely crowded, they have heat lamps, it has a fire pit but you can’t really go over there, again too crowded. The inside: the dance floor is ok, not that big, two bars, there are bottle service tables that surround the dance floor, can b hard to get a drink, they have another room going towards the bathroom, but thats for parties. The drink prices are pretty expensive, actually more than Chapter 8, Canyon Club etc. My friend wanted a white wine, all they had was a cheapy, not so great wine. I suggest to pay with cash when buying drinks! Arrive before 10:30 if you’re on the guestlist that way you do not have to pay anything. I know most places have the before 10:30 rule, but usually you are told. But I was not told this, when I looked on the flyer it did not say anything and so I ended up having to pay to get it! :( The music was okay. On saturday had a lot of mash ups/hip hop/techno/electronic. Honestly, I could definitely pass this place up. Nothing special. Only plus is that it does have free parking, unlike LA areas.

I used to go to Suki 7 at least once a week for dinner and drinks until I got sick and tired of dealing with the fact they clearly wished they were a Hollywood night club. The servers are great, the food is great(every dessert is amazing), but the managers clearly do not know how to do their job. it’s a shame, but that seems to be the pattern when it comes to 678 Dine places. The last straw is when I witnessed a fight break out and their ill equipped security staff couldn’t handle the situation, it looked like a few people were hurt. I am assuming that’s why the police often times are there. It’s a shame this place tarnishes Westlake’s reputation.

Went to Suki 7 last night(Friday) with my sister. Had reservations and were seated immediately by a very congenial hostess. Sissy had the grapefruit martini and I had a Fat Tire. Both were yummy! Let’s first discuss the décor. Sure, it wasn’t the most original, but it created such a great mood! The gold bricks on the wall, the agate wall behind the bar(stunning), and the amazing private room with the water feature were standouts! It was dark and very cozy. There was an acoustic guitarist playing Elton and Eagles(a plus, though it didn’t complement the décor, really). The food: It was really really good! We got the vegetable tempura appetizer. It was great with the unique veggies you don’t really see in this plate. For our entrees, we ordered sushi. We started with Albacore sushi and yellowtail hand roll. The fish was surprising FRESH. Really really fresh. We then ordered the Red Dragon roll and Flaming Grady roll(which was SPICYYYY but amazingly good). They were both very impressive and the service was great! I would say the highlight of the meal was the chocolate cake. It tasted like a flourless torte and it came with vanilla ice cream on a crispy coconut macaroon. O.M.G. I practically licked the plate. I would highly recommend this restaurant, we had a great time! Robert is a great server as is the rest of the waitstaff. The parking was easy and we didn’t wait at all. It was cougarville, but it didn’t detract from the ambiance.

I didn’t eat here… I’m reviewing the club that this place often becomes at night… Apparently you can order food here too As with all the numbered franchises(P6, Suki 7 and Chapter 8), the management finds the most attractive 20 somethings to host, bartend and serve in this establishment… A LOT of eye candy walking around serving as quite the pleasant distraction… I’ve been here a few times… I’ve usually avoided it because it can get kind of stuffy(I’m talking about the people, not the venue…) and expensive… As I watched my female friends walk in for free, my cousin and I were both asked for $ 40 dollars… EACH… I better be drinking from a golden chalice delivered by the hand maidens of Venus… Am I in Vegas? I know that Westlake can be a bougy area, but that was freakin’ ridiculous… We talked em in 40 total… Ended up being a good night… I can honestly say that the music here is definitely a step up from a lot of the other areas in the area because it would seem that they import their DJ’s from all over… Definitely a PLUS… Drinks are delicious… Probably helps that I know a bartender or 3… I’ve yet to actually drink one of the specialty drinks here for myself, but I can assure you they make girls drunk fast… Outside smoking area fills up quick… Take a quick look around and you may have a celebrity sighting… Or so I’ve heard… Parking is definitely a plus since the restaurant is in a mini mall type of deal… People tend to be a well to do mid 20s crowd that screams white collar… Trust fund kids and their parent’s credit cards… I’m not a hater, I just call it like I see it… Beware of the occasional drink whore or sleazy/cheesy/greasy guido… I’ve seen a few guys drop some serious cash here too… More of a scene and be seen kinda deal… A few nights that I’ve been here, they’ve had go go dancers and the like… Not entirely my scene, but definitely has its moments…

This place was hyped-up for me so my review may reflect that mostly due to it falling short in my opinion. I arrived also on time while my entire party was an hour late(Californians). While sitting at the bar I must say that the bartender was kind and actually listened though she had no idea how to pour a Guinness(Strike one star). The first time she gave my glass to me it was ¾’s head and frankly no one gives me that much head unless she at least bought me dinner as well. Next the waitress, opps sorry I meant to say SERVER(politically correct and all) took forever to come get our order(strike two). Now the next item was trying to get the waitress, opps server, to come and bring us another round once we all got to the table. I mean I had to get up and go find her(Strike three). When my Guinness came to the table it was half-head(a new bartender a guy was now behind the bar(Strike Four). I mean if you are going to have GUINNESS on tap teach your people to pour it properly. After the first round of food arrived we wanted to order more, so again I had to get up and track down our server(see I can learn to be nice) and BEG her to take another order from us. Now mind you there was only three other people in the whole restaurant area so it was not busy at all. Though the food I must say was not bad and I even found something new I liked but just not worth all the effort to get it. Try someplace else unless you like playing hide-and-go-seek with your wait staff.

Went there for a bit of an early dinner– early for this place is like 6:30. Went with co-workers– needed some fun. It was quiet and a bit cold at first but it livened up a bit later. Interesting crowd– young and old… interesting. Décor is nice, interesting– quite dim. We ordered some of their signature drinks– most were very good. We stuck to just a bit of sushi and a few rolls. It was all very good. Didn’t really try any of their«asian-fusion» stuff but it all sounded good. Service was very good. If I lived there, I would go there often. A bit spendy but worth it.

Our waitress was so damn cute. So, you stroll into this place and you gotta wonder what they are trying to do. Geisha House meets Crimson/Opera but decorated like Tao, but with funky purple lights near the sushi bar. Cool? All in all the space is nice. The food is not bad either. They pay for the A grade fish. The food pairings are a little wonky at times but all in all it’s good. It’s not a «real» sushi place but then again they do have a full bar. God that waitress was cute…

I’ve been wanting to try this place for a while, so I took my niece for her birthday. I was not expecting a traditional meal and went in with an open mind. We sat at the sushi bar… best sushi bar seats I’ve ever sat in. They are big swivel lounge chairs with plenty of room to spare from the next one. We decided to order the Omakase for $ 60 each. I figured we would get a sampling of their best stuff. Our sushi chef said he doesn’t do the omakase, and we wouldn’t want him to??? REDFLAG! Ok, so what now? He says the other chef in the back will do it and proceeded. So we did not get to watch the chef prepare our food(why did we sit at thebar) or talk to him about what we liked or disliked, but dishes began to arrive. I was very surprised to get all nigiri style traditional fish, done haphazardly with so much wasabi that it was hard to eat. My niece had to pull the fish off the rice and scrape off the wasabi. It was not so good, however the fish was fresh. I came here for fusion, I was open to it, and I got phony traditional with too much wasabi. Nothing tasted great or was memorable in anyway. I know where to get really good traditional sushi, and I was disappointed that I ordered the omakase. I later read the menu, and the omakase was described pretty much as served, so I can only blame myself for not reading prior to ordering. I am going to give them another chance, go back and order some of the fusion stuff, and see how they do.

Last week my girlfriends and I were so excited to have an appetizer at Suki 7 before going to the Sex and the City movie. We got to Suki 7 around 6:30 and decided to sit inside. The hosts greeted us with a look of disdain on their faces. We looked inside and noticed the restaurant was practically empty. After telling the host we were going to need a table for 5, she looked liked we had inconvenienced her. She then told us that we could sit at a small four seater booth which resulted in us choosing to sit outside. They only handed us one menu and it took 15 minutes for a waitress to greet us. Being short on time and not having many upscale dining choices in Westlake, we stayed. Usually restaurants want business, but at Suki 7 we were definitely not welcomed. Economic times are harder right now, I recommend spending your money somewhere where you are wanted! Very disappointed!

While I very much enjoyed my repeated experiences at P6 and Chapter 8, I gotta say that Suki 7 didn’t really do much for me… We came here a few days before I said goodbye to the 818 and made my way back to the Bay Area. I had a great experience working at Countrywide for a year, but I can’t say I wasn’t happy to leave, seeing as August 2007 was marked with bad news after bad news. Even my manager, to whom I’d given notice a couple of weeks before, asked me more than a little surprised: «Do you know something I don’t?» To be honest, I’d been thinking this whole housing bubble had to burst for a couple of years now but I kept mum and just smiled. Oh, and if I’m boring you with this aside, you’ll probably get equally frustrated with the service here at Suki 7, because it took ages for anyone to finally come and take our drink orders. I swear by the time the waiter finally showed up I was tempted to order 2 martinis instead of 1 since I didn’t know the next time they would grace us with their presence. As far as food is concerned, we ordered a few appetizers and sushi plates, but nothing really made me smile. When you’ve got Tomodachi just down the road, you’d have to be a fool to dine here instead. Now if you come here for the late night ambiance, then I truly can’t comment because we were here on the earlier side. Still, as far as Suki 7 is concerned, I came, I saw, I tried, and I shan’t be back.

Drinks were fine, over priced, but that’s to be expected. Good dance floor. I was told that this was«the place to be» on Thursday night, but that’s not really saying much. One of the things that bothered me the most was that they were showing Full Metal Jacket at the bar. It was the end of the movie, so we got to see the soap bar beating scene and the murder-suicide. Does this make sense to anyone? Second thing that bothered me was that you could go to the bar, but then had to walk all the way around the building to go to the dance area and stand outside, waiting to get in. The process needs to be more streamlined. Would I go back? Only if I were wanting to go dancing on a Thursday night. After all, it’s the place to be.

I took a poll here in my house and the consensus was that Suki 7 is worth three stars, despite the super-chic décor. It’s trendy Asian-chic and pretty cool for the suburbs, but my first impression was that this place was all flash and no substance — probably a good place to go for cocktails with your girlfriends or if you’re trying to impress a date or client, but kind of not worth it otherwise. We went on a miserably rainy evening and the place didn’t look full, but we still got the whole«Sorry, all our tables are reserved for the rest of the evening» speech. No big deal, we prefer the sushi bar anyway. On to the sushi: It’s not bad, but for the price, you expect a bit more. We splurged on the 18-karat roll — baked lobster, avocado and asparagus — and were pretty disappointed. It was kind of like a bland California roll. I would have preferred a good California roll, I think. Dunking it in our wasabi/soy slurry definitely helped a bit. The sashimi we had was pretty good, but we’ve had better. Our favorite part had to be our super-friendly sushi chef. He and his wife are spearfishers and he showed us some pictures of his latest catch. It was almost like we were at a neighborhood sushi place for a while — and his seared scallop with lemon was pretty damn good.

Gorgeous place. Good looking staff. Great presentation. «Eclectic»(gosh I hate that word) menu. Taste of food… EH. Prices for the EH food… whoa! Amazingly unique infusion drinks are what you need to come here for. These things had the most creative blends of ingredients(lychee, blueberries, arrays of tea, quality vodkas) and I’ve had the most well known mixologists in the country make me infusions before and these were on par if not even better. The Chapter 8-P6-Suki 7 owners clearly have great taste in style but as far as sushi… not so much.

3.5 Stars. When I was living up there I used to go to Suki all the time– not by choice. I have definitely had better sushi, but this place is good given the fact that Westlake Village is lacking in nightlife, etc. All of their specialty cocktails are really good. Downside is that there is one bar serving the restaurant and on a busy night it could take forever to get your drink. You have to try their infused sake. The p&p is good and I highly recommend it, but the spicy one is pretty nasty. The sushi here is ok and I never will understand the hype about their robata. Bacon wrapped around a cherry tomato isn’t a novel idea. The robata doesn’t taste like it was roasting for 24 hours. Seriously, you would probably enjoy a skewer from your home bbq more I’m sure. However, I do recommend the spaghetti with squid ink, that was one of my favorite dishes. Going to Suki is more for the ambiance then for anything else. The crowd is good, music/dancing are good, outdoor fire pits are nice(just like Chapter 8). Going for dinner might be dissapointing, but if you live in the area then it’s worth a try I guess.

3.75. But I rounded up to 4 because there’s not a lot of options in the area. The food Is pretty good sushi. However, certainly not the best I have had — LA, SF or elsewhere. Although pretty good, it’s pretty darn expensive. Here’s what I had: 1 specialty cocktail($ 10) 1 beer on tap($ 5) 1 specialty roll($ 18) 2 piece nigiri($ 6) shared garlic edamame($ 4) wrap in tip, and you’ve got about a $ 50 sushi dinner with just above average quality fish. I like to get a little more for my money, especially since I only got 2 fish dishes, and there isn’t much to the nigiri. I will say, though, that the specialty roll(it was a spicy lobster roll), was pretty good and large. word of advice — if you don’t want to have too much garlic, skip on the garlic edamame. it’s tasty, but there’s a TON of garlic on it. The food service was great. we got our food fast, but drink service was extremely slow. It took forever to get drinks. If you buy a full dinner here, you get free admission into the adjoining club at Suki 7 called«678» or something like that. The club apparently«goes off» on Thursday nights. It was ok.

Suuuuwanky and Suuuuuweeet Suki 7! What a jewel in Westlake Village. For staaaahters, we naaahshed on Gaaahlic Edaaahmame… ahhh. Slightly on the oily side, but nonetheless perfectly seasoned. Succulently Sweet Smooth and chilled Sake poured table side in(the hugest) shot glasses coupled in a niftly box(to catch the overflow) which ahem — i poured into my shot glass — creating a whole other shot(ok — call me country — I dont care — I couldn’t let that go to waste!!! it was so smooth) Lucious rolls of contemporary sushi — Soft Shell crab and Hamachi in an almost too-pretty-to-devour-but-I-did-anyway(cause that sake was so damn tasty) presentation. I could taste every bit of ingredient in the rolls. Fresh, crunchy texture with asian infusion dancing on my tongue. I couldn’t pass up the Hamachi Kama —(Yellow Tail Collar) Another beautiful presentation of a gargantuan collar — perfectly seared —(I wish they served it with a lemon — but darn that Sake was so tasty — I really didn’t mind) nestled on a bed of seasoned kelp.(ya, you gotta try it.) Definitely go for the Furukake Crusted Salmon — perched oh so sexy on a bed of creamy orzo.(Could it have been Crack Crusted Salmon?) Hmmm. You’ll have to find out for yourself. Seating is extremely cozy — the plates, portions, and flavors make prices just right. How cool is that? This is a true gem in the midst suburbia! Definitely make reservations cause for a mid-week dinner every table was full.
