Stopped by early for lunch as we’d never been here before. Staff was very helpful, walking us through the menu and eve giving us a sample. We settled on the Gabagool and the Enforcer. Both sandwiches were great. The crusty Italian bread just makes it all the better. For dessert, we had a brownie and ricotta cannoli, both were delicious. I’ll be back to try other sandwiches when I’m back in town.

Best Italian deli selection in western Wayne county. Only place around town to get select cold cuts without going to the expensive Holiday Market or Cantoro’s. Sandwiches are excellent and on point.

Went here at 5:15 today. They close at 6. I got the Costa Nostra. It was very good. Everything was fresh. Not complaints on the taste of the sandwich by any means. However, I must say that(at least 1 of the girls) working was very upset I had come in. They also verbally got upset when a guy came in behind me. I get it, it sucks when you just cleaned everything and close soon. But your hours are your hours and your customers are why you have a job. It’s not like I came in 5 minutes till close on Christmas Eve. I came in 45 minutes before closing. They were not hiding that they were upset though, by any means. For me, it doesn’t matter how good your food may be(which it was). This experience may hinder whether or not I go back. I would suggest hiding your frustrations or anger until your customers leave.

Best Corned Beef, and at $ 6,49 a lb., can’t beat the value! Love this small, personable Deli!

Unilocaled this place because I was meeting a friend near the airport. Turns out, it is a bit of a drive from the airport. I had the Cosa Nostra sandwich, and it was exactly what I like in an Italian sandwich. They had one soup of the day, but the lady behind the counter warned us away from it on that particular day. I can’t recall what it was, but it didn’t sound great anyway. I also had a cannoli. They offer both cream filled and traditional Ricotta filled. I had the traditional, and it was great. I don’t make it to this area much, but if I did a lunch time again, i definitely stop in again.

Best sub or deli sandwich in town! Perfect for lunch when your on a time crunch! Or eat in. Great service and great food. Please put the pulled pork sub on the menu!!! The Don is my fav, a very well done Italian style sub, pair it with the sour cream and onion chips and life is good! Def try the«Heavy Hitter» which is an awesome version of a French dip w/au jus. They do hot/cold/toasted etc. Plus they have a nice bakery/dessert selection if your feeling like going the extra mile… Would absolutely recommend

very clean/nice. went in last sat. 11÷14÷15 w/friend. I had the roast beef(can’t remember the name.) friend had«The Don.» He loved it. it was very fresh. the bread was crispy outside/soft inside. the cole slaw on the Don was very tasty. I’d prefer this place to subway or jimmie johns. get better food for the same price and help the mom/pop shop.

I went there today after my coworker went yesterday and reported it as a good spot. I am a sammich junkie especially a great sammich. This place delivers indeed. I had the Gabagool and a order of potato bacon soup. First of all a great sandwich begins with great homemade bread and it was as fresh as can be. Now top that with fresh ingredients and you have it. THis was a sandwich that brought back memories from years ago. So good and the soup was most likely homemade real flavor to it. The store itself is very nice and super clean. They have a nice setup for eating there. The service was prompt and I was not rushed one bit. I have to mention the desserts, although I regret not trying one I will probably get two the next time. The eclairs looked awesome. I will be making this a regular lunch spot for sure. Nice job L&P.

Goomba was a little dry, but the other offerings are great, solid bread, desserts, sandwich of the month is always good. Bring back that pulled pork sandwich with the onion straws and I’d eat here every day.

I was in the Westland area and stumbled upon this cute deli. I walked in and the dessert case immediately caught my attention. Tiramisu– done! I figured I should probably get something substantial as well and asked for recommendations from the young ladies, who were very friendly, behind the counter. They suggested the Goomba, essentially sausage and peppers. Just the name alone, made me want to order the sandwich. Sandwich was very good, dessert perfect, and customer service excellent.

I really like Loaf and Pound for lunch. You can get in and out in less than an hour. And I love the folks who run the counter at lunch — they call me Mortadella because of my unnatural love for the stuff(at least that’s why I hope they call me that…). The interior is small and basic. My favorite sandwiches are the Cosa Nostra, The Don and the Italian, all If which are kind of similar but taste different. They use fresh mozzarella balls, sliced to order. They slice their meats for each sandwich. They have a monthly sandwich special too. A couple of helpful hints: If your sandwich comes with peppers, ask for options because their spicy peppers make the sandwich for me! Their bread options include a hard roll and a soft roll. The hard one is more traditional but it’s work to eat and tears up my mouth. The soft roll is my preferred choice. Take home half of your sandwich. Their sandwiches are big, and if you’re not a championship eater plus you get the combo(comes with chips or a salad plus a soda) you’ll likely have some leftover. It holds up well. Get more spicy peppers on the side. Their name is also a special they have daily. A loaf of pre-sliced Italian bread and a pound of lunch meat(basic ham, basic turkey and some damn fine salami). Current price for this deal is $ 6. Think about what you pay for a pound of lunch meat. Yeah, it’s a good deal.

We were looking for some fresh bread and we noticed the Loaf & A Pound store. I walked in and noticed they only had 3 loaves of sliced Italian Bread and discovered they were $ 2.50 a piece. Looking at their wall posted menu revealed many interesting sandwich choices and a number of beverages. We weren’t really hungry so we ordered a Latte and a Coffee. The Coffee had to be «freshly made» in the back of the kitchen and took a long time. It came out lukewarm and weak and was not really the highlight of our visit. In the meantime, on reviewing the other selections, we ordered a loaf of the sliced Italian Bread & a pound of Salami for $ 6 and a decadent looking slice of Tiramisu to go. Everything was fresh, tasty and the desert was excellent, The store was very well designed, clean and neat. The 2 staff members were very helpful and friendly. The only hiccup was the coffee and actually the manager did not charge us for the coffee for our time and inconvenience. We liked Loaf & A Pound even though the name is a little confusing. It seems to be a nicely done, start up business. I am going with 4 stars and I’ll be back…

I’m not sure where all the pictures of the sandwiches with meat came from… I ordered the Spicy Italian and for $ 6.99+ tax it had two very thin layers of meat and one of cheese. Bread to meat ratio was way off. Sad to say there is more meat on a subway sandwich. Wouldn’t recommend.

When I searched for bakeries in my area this place came up so we decided to check it out, as we got there we realized it was more a deli than anything. We got two subs and decided to try a piece of the tiramisu. The sandwiches were okay, nothing really special. But the tiramisu was pretty good! The people working there were nice and they made the sandwiches quickly which I appreciated. I would suggest going for the desserts but not the actual food, or maybe try something other than their sandwiches.

First time visiting on a recommendation from another. I also saw they were one of a few 5 star restaurants on Unilocal. Dinner hour Friday they didn’t have all breads normally offered. The deli case with pre portioned salads only had cole slaw. The staff working had some trouble responding to my wife’s questions. The space lacked comfort, no music or air conditioning. We both ordered the«Goodfella» sandwich without the slaw. The bread/roll was soft as advertised but I was expecting a much higher grade of meat than what we were served. Overall the place was clean but tables needed to be wiped down between guests and spot swept as well.

Off the chain. Make sure you try their custom butterfinger canoli for dessert. Their bread is fresh daily and every sandwich is excellent. They have a secret sandwich called«The Yousef»… I advise you to try it!!!

I was excited to try this place as the reviews have all been so good. When I came at about 11:45, the place was empty. As others have mentioned, this is more of a take out place than anything. There are a few tables, but not many. They have a huge selection of meats and cheeses to choose from. They also have several sandwiches listed that you can choose from. I got«The Don» which consisted of various italian meats, cheese, lettuce, tomatoes and a vinagarette on the side. The sandwich was huge! Well with the $ 6 I spent on it. They also have chips, salads, soups, drinks and desserts. I was dissapointed with the brownie I bought. It tasted like it came from Sysco or GFS and was pretty stale. Overall, great sandwiches, nice staff, good location! It’s worth a trip!
