This is now the Golden Coney Island, under new management. It was small, extremely hot inside(over 80 degrees) and had the standard middle eastern /Greek /coney menu. The prices were a bit high, so I didn’t actually order. Just walked out and went down the road to somewhere else.

Ken tried this place out first while I was traveling for work and liked it enough to bring me back the following week. He couldn’t stop talking about the tasty fish, fried right when you order it, and the friendly, proud owner. I wasn’t expecting much, but I must admit that I was pleasantly surprised! I knew I wanted to Orange Roughy, $ 5.99 for three pieces plus coleslaw(I think they charge a little bit to fry too… but JOP, $ 6 – 7 for perfectly seasoned, large pieces of Orange Roughy?! Sign me up!), but I also wanted to try the fried shrimp. The owner allowed me to buy ¼lb of the jumbos(they also have large sized) for about $ 5 – 6. Same thin, seasoned cornmeal batter on both. Loved it! Ken had the fried chicken — 3 piece dark with fries and coleslaw for $ 5 – 6. Yeah, $ 5 – 6. I tried a bite of the leg, and it was juicy. The thigh was so juicy you would have thought it was broasted. And wonderful seasoning on the chicken too. Everything is cooked when you order it, so you will wait 10 minutes or longer. But there are comfy tables and chairs to wait at and dine in. I liked that I didn’t smell warm, raw fish when I came in. The raw fish in the case looked fresh. Our food tasted fresh. Try them!!!
