The customer service was great until I found out that I would get a cheaper rate if I reserved a unit online first.
Here’s the short version… I was searching online while the rep. Luis was making my reservation and realized I could get the unit for $ 40 cheaper online so I asked if I could cancel what he was doing and reserve it online right in front of him so I could get the discount or if he could give me the online rate. He told me If he did that, I would lose the money that I just paid for the first month. Not sure if he gets paid commission or what but that was BAD customer service. I’m sure he could have done something to help me out but all he did was try to make me pay way more then I should. I recommend no matter how much of a rush you are in always do your research before you pay anything!!!

Think twice about using Public Storage if you are wanting a long term solution. They exploit the fact you don’t want to move your stuff and raise your rent annually. Here we are in a recession and they have raised my rent each year. I am now paying 22% more than when I first started. So don’t get roped in on the $ 1 first month special. Energy cost and salaries and taxes aren’t up 22% so the only conclusion you can reach is gouging the customer. I am hoping my situation changes and I can move my stuff before my rent is up 33%.
