After a horrible experience next door trying to get some food I popped in since I had eaten Arepas at the same location years ago when it went by another name. When we walked in all the seats were turned upside down on the tables, I asked if they were closed but the cashier said the kitchen closes at 8pm and the business at 8:30pm… We walked in at 7:30pm. I asked if I could see a menu and the cashier told me she was just gonna tell me which arepas I could order, priced at $ 7 give or take a few cents regardless of which you ordered. I ordered the Reina Pepiada, an arepa with chicken salad, avocado slices & cheese. About 10 mins after ordering I was hand the arepa in a small box & left since clearly they didn’t want anyone eating inside. In the car I opened the box & it was the biggest disappointment of an arepa I’ve ever experienced, it was smaller than any arepa I’ve ever ordered. The outside of the arepa was still room temperature instead hot and toasty like it should be, the filling was bland and extra mushy… It was a very unpleasant experience. Over priced & under delivered.

I was disappointed. I ordered the arepa and asked for cheese on it. It took quite some time to get and when I went to eat it realized all they did was cut the arepa and piled in some cold cheese. When I got home I cooked it myself so the entire arepa was hot and cheese melted. I thought the food was pricey too. I live within walking distance and would have probably gone more often had the food been better.

Good fast venezuelan food. A price is a little high. Tequenos in this place have a unique flavor so it’s worth to order them. Not so many tables to sit, but you can find a lot of different Hispanic products imported to take home and fill up your pantry. They have lunch specials for those who like to eat Hispanic food on a daily basis. This place has been opened for like 10 years and it keeps loyal clients.

Good arepas. Good food. But the service is not great. We felt like we were bothering the girl and that she was doing as a favor…

Long time to get order. This walls also due to the fact that the empanada ordered was frozen, as informed by the guy,!of course we came to know this after we were told it would be about 5 min and then told it still going to long, then followed by a «I told you it would take time». Asked to replace the empanada for another that was already made and was sort of frowned upon.

Good food, great customer service. Little bit pricey but I guess it’s the norm here in South Florida

Their arepa Reina Pepeada with green sauce is good as well as their tequeños. Pair it with a «marron» coffee for breakfast. Nice selection of retail latin products for sale.

from the day you moved was the beginning of the end, when I was a small local was very good but due to changes and increased responsibilities that got out of hand the restaurant, the service is not very good. The prices are very high. the manager is always arguing with his employees in front of customers, few people they serve. has little parking spot. generally very expensive for what they offer.

This place is disgusting and overly priced! Wow! If I could give it NOSTARS, I totally would! I went with my mom because I was looking for«Pirulin»(a rather popular Venezuelan item). I did find it but it was CRAZY expensive. about $ 15 for a small can(which is about $ 5 in Venezuela). on top of it, the item was expired as well as other Venezuelan candy they had on display… Since we were already there, we decided to have lunch and ordered a Venezuelan dish, which is very easy. some of the items to the dish were not available so we had to settle for some other alternatives. I wanted to drink a Diet Coke and they didn’t have that either… I got some beans, but they looked more like a soup. I had to tell the guy to give me some real beans rather than just the broth… The food was«blah» and the service was pathetic… On top of that, the place was dirty and the crowd was less than pleasant! I really hope they close this place down… As a Venezuelan, I feel embarrassed about this place. this is NOT a Venezuelan place! It is HORRIBLE!

This place used to be Universal Market, and the basic principle really hasn’t changed. It is owned now by what I think is the hardest working woman in all of Weston, who used to be in an Arepas shop right next door. Arepas Magnet Plus is a Latin-American market filled with goodies from lots of countries like Venezuela, Colombia and Argentina. This place has it all, an Argentinian butcher with nice premium cuts and a little bit of a deli with fresh cheeses and nice pates, a Venezuelan bakery that serves lunch specials and caters and its new addition right in the corner of all-natural fruit sorbets(Cepillados) which really elevate the place up a few notches. You must come try these things for sure… especially when it’s really hot out. I give it 4 stars out of 5 cause the place is a little pricey, but otherwise worth to indulge and to take home a little taste of «back in the day in ____» (Fill in the blank with your respective South American country).
