I waivered between 2 or 3 stars. My friend and I had to repeats our order to the waiter 3 times. My friend had to request to get her appetizer twice. I ordered the rabbit pasta. It was okay not great and instead of offering cheese to put on top of it at the table it came with way to much cheese on top already melted. The duck with cherries was delicious which is why I settled on 3 stars. I ordered crème de caramel and the taste is as off as well as burnt tasting.

Amazing dining experience. The food was five star, and the service also made us feel very special. I’ve been meaning to try this place, but it’s usually filled up. We finally got our chance. We will definitely be back. Highly recommended. I had the short ribs and risotto, which was amazing. The short ribs were tender and just fell apart. My husband had the Seabass a.k.a. Branzino and he loved it. The cappuccino was so good as well. It came in a very special little glass cup and tasted amazing. A small and intimate place, so try to get reservations before it fills up on the weekends.

The service was excellent. The ambiance is also very nice. The place is quite small maybe 10 tables so call ahead. We liked the food but I think it was overpriced for the area, even if it is Westport. Go early during fall/spring and go for a walk afterwards in the area.

This is a lovely restaurant I’ve enjoyed plenty of times in the past. When I learned today they had white truffles on their menu, I called to confirm and headed on down for dinner this evening. To my dismay, not only was I told incorrect information about their opening time, but I was also not able to eat there because it was a private party this evening. Bad, bad, bad as I planned my entire day around the truffle extravaganza I had planned. Experiences like this don’t warm your heart to want to return and instead keep you away. Sad.

While in Newport, my husband and I had a fabulous experience. Chef Pietro was the guest Chef at The Revolving Door Restaurant in Newport, R.I. in July. What a treat. His dishes were sumptuous and seasoned perfectly. He reached out and welcomed us as we sat at the Bar observing him preparing Dinners. We had such a positive experience we dined there twice! Residents and visitors should make reservations at his Restaurant Da Pietro’s. Don’t hesitate. You will thoroughly enjoy his fabulous meals and desserts. Wished we lived closer. Thank you!

My girl friend and I went there to celebrate our 5 year anniversary. She has been wanting to go there for a while so we decided it was time. It was absolutety fantastic! They have a HUGE wine selection and we were able to find a delicious cab under $ 50, it paired very well with our meal. To celebrate our anniversary they also treated us to a glass of champagne! For starters we had the escargot and the burrata. The escargot was served in a delicious sauce, and the puff pastry it was paired with did wonders to absorb all the flavor. The burrata was probably the freshest/softest I’ve ever had. For the main dish she had the veal and I had the NY Strip. Both came with mashed potatoes and greens. Although the sides were great, the meat was the star of the show. I asked for mine either medium or mid-rare, chef’s choice. It came back mid-rare and was PERFECT. Nothing hurts more than seeing a quality piece of meat get ruined by lack of attention. Thankfully the chef was on point and served one of the best steaks I’ve had in recent memory. For dessert, we couldn’t agree on anything on the menu so we got that night’s special which was an apple strudel, paired with coffee and cappuccino. It was flaky, crunchy, and not overly sweet like they tend to be. The best part was that after we got our bill we were pleasantly surprised that it was less than we were prepared for; does not happen often. To sum up we will definitely be going back at some point in the near future. I highly recommend anyone who’s been on the fence, to hop off and dine here as well.

Absolutely fantastic food and service. The ambiance was perfect for a «date night». We will definitely go back hopefully next time for a dinner with wine pairing.

Intimate and truly an exquisite dining experience in an old world setting that really you don’t see a lot of anymore inside of Westport. I wouldn’t necessarily classify this as the finest of dining it’s more like homestyle Italian. There are a great Friday of Mediterranean dishes but really the sauces and the presentation or what usually attract people to this place. I’d say there’s a decent following for the power lunch for attorneys or bankers and maybe their clients but for the most part this is sort of a «special occasion» type evening location. The restaurant is been around for a really long time and the one thing that always reminds me of how great it is is that they attend the local festivals and farmers markets to give tastes of the kinds of foods that they serve. I’d say give it a try if you’re looking for the old world that used to be in Westport much more regularly than it is now.

Da Pietro rarely disappoints. I’ve eaten several times here and always have had excellent food. It’s consistently good. Note this is mainly regarding takeout, although the few times I’ve dined in, the service was good. Small, intimate space and good for a date.

This a small place with a small top notch waiter staff and one great chef that made for a great dining experience. I had the Escargot in Mille Foglic to start. Canard Aux Baies(Duck w/wild cherry sauce) and finished with Profiteroles Au Chocolat for dessert. Every Dish exceeded my expectations. With every taste you can tell a special chef had prepared the food.

We took an important client for a dinner meeting and thoroughly enjoyed our meal from start to finish. The warm bread and olives were a nice start. We had the sea bass cooked to perfection with a delightful beurre blanc

Thought the food good but not exceptional. The foie gras was flavored nicely but was lost in an oversized brioche. Beware of the specials prices. White truffle is going to triple + the cost of your dish(Be nice if they told you that up front). Unfortunately the truffle didn’t do much for the pasta. A pretty average plate of noodles. High expectations but got«meh.»

We met our cousins here tonight, half way between where we both live. We didn’t know what to expect and we were blown away. The food was delicious, the service wonderful and at the end the chef came out to personally meet everyone in the restaurant. This is truly and gem and we will return

We were told they had specials — one in our party ordered the linguini with truffles and 2 woman each split the risotto with truffles(2 ½ orders). What we weren’t told was the cost. We were charged $ 100 for the linguini and $ 150 for the 2 ½ orders of risotto. This was a special dinner for a friend’s significant birthday and we were not going to make a scene at the restaurant but our meal came to a whopping $ 600. The specials we ordered were 2.5 and almost 4 times as expensive as anything on the menu. I feel we were at best misled and at worse robbed.

I took my husband here for his birthday dinner and we were so impressed! Both with the service and the food. We started with a Mediterranean salad which was so light and fresh and delightful. He had the veal which he claims was the best he’s ever had. I had the ½ roast chicken which was phenomenal — crispy on outside and moist on inside — terrific! We did not have room for dessert but did have room for after dinner drinks ;)

I was taken here by my wife as a surprise for my birthday. This is a tiny little place across from her work and had always intrigued me. After reading and hearing good feedback about the place I was excited to finally try Da Pietros. I must say that all of my expectations were exceeded. We were a half hour early for our reservation but were still seated promptly and greeted by the very friendly staff. The wine list is quite extensive but we just decided to go by the glass which had some nice choices and I may have just found my new favorite wine. Next we had complimentary bread and olives. The bread was warm and fresh. The butter was chilled and a bit hard, but the warm bread took care of that. The kalamata olives were delicious, marinated in a combination of oil, sun-dried tomatoes, garlic and spices that gave them a nice kick but not too overpowering. I could have made a meal of just those. My wife and I shared a Mediterranean salad which was fantastic, a perfect blend of fresh, crisp veggies and mozzarella in an amazing balsamic that was one of the sweetest I have ever tasted. I literally licked the plate clean. For my main course I had the veal special which was tender, buttery veal medallions topped with fresh black truffles. This was the most flavorful veal I have ever eaten and just melted in your mouth. The dish was accompanied my mashed potatoes and sauteed veggies. Absolutely delicious. My wife had the half-chicken which was cooked to perfection, juicy and perfectly seasoned. She raved over it and the bite I had was amazing. We wished we had saved room for dessert even though the menu was really pulling me in. The staff was very friendly, helpful and prompt and I would like to thank Pietro for all of the complimentary Moscato on the house. I will definitely be back very soon with friends. 5 Stars all the way.

I laughed, I learned and I ate scrumptious food all in one afternoon. Today I attended a fabulous, intimate event organized by CT Bites and Da Pietro restaurant in Westport: A cooking demo and lunch with Chef Scotti. I found out about it through«CT Bites Invites» that I had signed up for. Man! Am I glad I did! :-) The moment I entered the restaurant, I noticed all the happy smiling faces. Everyone was simply delighted to be there … after all, who wouldn’t be delighted to spend an afternoon with Chef Scotti? Chef Scott, his wife Janine and the staff were so warm and welcoming. You can tell that, not only is this a great place to eat, but it is also must be a great place to work. Chef Scotti made three delicious dishes for us. He started with a demonstration of how we can transform curds into fresh mozzarella cheese. It was absolutely amazing to see a master at his craft. His fingers worked the cheese with such panache. He then rolled the cheese with arugula and fresh tomatoes. After chilling it for a bit, he cut slices of the cheese and served it with a drizzle of balsamic vinegar. The dish was absolutely beautiful to look at and even better to eat! For the main course he showed us a very simple yet delicious recipe with swordfish, tossed in tomatoes, leeks and white wine, served on a bed of pasta. Every ingredient in this dish shined … each very delicate and each really distinct in taste. This is indeed mastery of an amazing chef! The trick for cooking perfect fish, according to Chef Scotti, is to cook the it on very high heat and do it fast… so that it does not get overcooked and chewy. The dessert was most definitely the grand finale! Are you ready… get this… chocolate bread pudding with bourbon sauce. Soft, airy, moist bread pudding soaked in chocolate cream, with layers of bananas, topped with chef’s very special bourbon sauce. An utterly, purely, heavenly creation! What a simple recipe, and yet how complex in its flavor profile. Chef’s special tip on this recipe was not to leave the bread soaking in the milk for too long… it tends to make the pudding mushy. Hats off to you, chef Scotti. Fairfield County is blessed with your pure genius!

We tried it for the first time last night for dinner. Before we ordered, we noticed that our table lamp was one of the only ones not lit — it remained un-lit the entire time(a personal pet peeve of ours!) Bread came out piping hot, but the butter was frozen solid. Our second bottle of Pellegrinio also came out half-frozen. Our appetizers were outstanding. The tuna tartare was incredible. I had a special baby artichoke dish with capers, also very delicious. Our main dishes were good, but didn’t knock our socks off. Chris had the fettucine bolognaise. It tasted good but it was drowning in the sauce. I had the salmon crostada over pesto fettucine — delicious. The salmon fillet was huge, but I wasn’t complaining! For dessert, the molten lava chocolate cake. It was OK, not nearly as good as the one served at Pasta Nostra though. Service was a little slow at times, but overall we had a pleasant dining experience.
