The old school Italian guys at work are introducing me to quality italian restaurants in the area. This pick is a winner. Excellent italian with generous portions and an very reasonable lunch menu. I had the escarole soup and the mussels. They were both amongst the best I’ve ever had. Highly recommend this place.

We have been enjoying dinner at Tarantino for over 20years. The food is consistently excellent and priced fairly for Westport.

This location along with Columbus Park and Applausi are all excellent. This family is one of the best when it comes to service and making you feel like you’re a part of their family. I really have no complaints about this restaurant and the lunch special for $ 15 is great! Check it out.

Great Old School Italian Restaurant. Great wine and great food. Highly recommended if you are in westport! Maria’s homemade pasta is fantastic!

Every single bit of my night was amzing. From the host to the waiter, bus boys, runners. Everything. Food was light and flavorful. The ambiance was calming, relaxing. Thank you for the service. I will be back.

Feels like a neighborhood place, which is impressive, as down-the-block Mario’s has had that draw and more for years. Really delicious food — lemony beet-goat cheese salad, fresh cavatelli with just-thick-enough sauce, chicken scarpiello featuring perfectly cooked(i.e., not dry) chicken and perfectly spiced peppers. We were too full for dessert. The noise level was high. Not only was there a very loud person sitting next to us whose every word we could hear, but the general decibel level is higher than we like. They could use a little noise-tempering.

Good food… horrible service. The bus boy waited on us while the server waited on all of his other tables. Plus a 25 minute wait after dessert for the check. Unacceptable.

Good service, a bit pricey even by westport standards but good food and great location if you’re wanting something easy to access from the train.

As perhaps younger and less affluent than some of the other patrons at Tarantino’s, I always go during happy hour to grab a drink(or two) and an appetizer(or two) off of the happy hour menu. The meatballs and calamari are excellent, as are the caprese salad and fried oysters. Beatriz, the usual bartender, will make you a delicious cocktail regardless of what you order. Her mojitos and espresso martinis are some of the best I’ve had – and I’ve had many. As far as the crowd goes it’s what you would expect(and hope for as a restaurant owner) for the price and atmosphere. Couples, a few families, and a collection of people off the train predominate. Overall, it’s an excellent and reliable go-to that I’ve never left disappointed. One quick note to the chef: you’ve been overcooking the meatballs lately and they’ve lost their tenderness; I’ve had better – from you!

Tarantino is always good. We’ve been eating there for years and always enjoy the authentic Italian food, service & hospitality. Plus the bar is great while they get the table ready. The reds are well selected and priced. It’s a very nice dining experience. Mark A.

The menu is not particularly creative. Basically, they offer up standard Italian restaurant fare. At the same time what they do have is well prepared and presented. If you dine here you will not leave with any complaints. Overall, this is very good Italian restaurant that delivers about what you would expect given the prices they charge.

Tarantino is solid Italian food with great service. I dare you to go there and not enjoy yourself. Oh, and they make a mean cocktail too.

I ate here with family in celebration of my sister’s graduation from High School this past June. I ordered Salmon Picatta, to say it was amazing does not do the dish justice. The fish was delicately cooked to perfection, the lemon sauce superb and was garnished with some of the largest capers I’ve ever seen. It was possibley the best Italian food I’ve had and is. The service was above par, the atmosphere sophisticated yet relaxed and the food to die for. If I did not live so far away, I would visit more often. It is a hidden gem and a rare find.
