I have had a great experience every time at this salon. Friendly, attentive staff. I see Kimberly every two months for a cut and glaze. I have not been disappointed yet and have been seeing her for a few years. Highly recommend.

It is always a pleasure coming to this salon for 1 reason, the talent! Nadia (stylist) Nicole (colorist) Kimberly (stylist) are all wonderful and extremely talented. The make my very difficult, course, wavy hair into hair that women envy. I hope Vincent appreciates all the talent he has working for him.

I had a fantastic experience at this salon – I don’t understand all the negative reviews! I got highlights with Sheila, and she couldn’t have been sweeter. She did an amazing job, and really took the time to look at my hair and figure out what kind of highlights would work best. Then, Cohl cut my hair and she was fabulous! She was friendly and attentive, making sure I was happy with the end result. I used a Groupon to try out the salon and plan on going back to both stylists in the future.

I have been going to the Vincent Palumbo salon for over a year now and each visit has been a positive experience. I highly recommend asking for Cohl Katz and can guarantee that you will not leave disappointed. My hair is extremely challenging to deal with, but Cohl always manages to deliver exactly what I want and ensures I walk out looking my best.

I highly recommend Cole Katz at Vincent Palumbo Salon. She is an incredible artist and stylist. She has many years of experience in the fashion world as well as the entertainment community. She is incredibly attentive, kind and has a fabulous sensitivity to what a client wants, combined with her artistic experience. Our entire family goes to her. One could not find a better hairdresser anywhere. Very high praise for this talented lady. Westport is lucky to have her here.

My home away from home! Diane is a fantastic talent — for cuts to blow outs. She is professional, warm and funny. She is one of the only stylist on the planet who can make my thin, fine hair look great. Everyone is so helpful and friendly.

The receptionists at this salon are incredibly rude and treated me like I was inferior because I was using a Groupon. They made it very difficult to schedule a Groupon appointment. Customer service and friendliness are completely lacking at this salon. I’d only go here if you don’t mind feeling unwelcome or like you’re imposing. There are way too many salons in the area to put up with this kind of treatment.

This is by far my worst salon experience. My color oxidized within the first few days and every time i tried calling to set up a time to fix it i could never get through. That being said, i finally set something up 3 weeks later. I had to come in for a «consultation» where at that point my colorist confirmed the color had oxidized. We scheduled a time for me to come in and «fix» it. I was under the impression i would not be charged but upon my surprise i was. The manager classified the appointment as a «redo» and never actually spoke to me. I have been getting my hair colored for 12 years and i was shocked at the lack of professionalism considering the supposed pedigree of the salon. Needless to say i will NEVER go back.

I have been going to The Vincent Palumbo Salon for years, but after my last appointment with Meagan, I will NEVER go back there again. I always get the same thing, a single process and highlights. This time the color was way off. I knew something was wrong when Meagan came into the sink area and put conditioner on my foils so that «the color wouldn’t run down on the highlights» — she’d never done that before, and I knew right away there was a problem. Needless to say, I was very upset when I saw the color. Meagan and the manager (Blair), stoned walled me and said it looked just like it always did! Why do hairdressers do that? Their refusal to admit that the color was off or that they’d made a mistake infuriated me. It’s not like it was my first time there! Then they said «what do you want us to do?» By that time I had been there for hours, I was starving and had things to do, so I agreed to come back and let someone else fix it. The next day I decided against going back and after talking to the receptionist (totally clueless), I left a voicemail for the manager. She, of course never got the message and they were calling asking where I was.
Btw, the owner was skulking around during this whole episode and did absolutely nothing to help.
Then, to add insult to injury, they charged me even more money then I usually pay, and when I questioned the bill, I discovered that they’d charged me for services I didn’t even have during my last visit! Also, I agree with the other reviewers about the reception staff — all young girls who don’t have a clue about customer service.

My advice, never trust your color with Rosie. She applied bleach to my hairline and left it on too long, over processing my hair and damaging it. I was left with white hair along my face with orange streaks, not to mention breakage and scalp irritation. Rosie also made it very clear that she was extremely busy that day and only had 15 minutes to work with me. After being horrified by the result I was told it could not be color corrected for at least 8 weeks because the damage that was done was far too great. In addition I was also told that it wouldn’t be correct until at least 2 or 3 additional more color treatments. I never felt any compassion for what was done to my hair. I was also told that Rosie was supposed to run everything by her manager before doing it and well she didn’t that day. I was practically in tears, I left numerous voicemails for the owner and all were left unanswered. There are plenty of high end salons in Fairfield County, so skip this one if you want to preserve your look, confidence and your hair. It is now months later and it is still not fully correct. I have been calling for the past two weeks to have someone look at it and no one returned my phone calls. I finally got the owner on the phone and he was rude and accused me of trying to get free services. I am sorry but I was offered numerous blowouts and glaze treatments, all of which I turned down. All I was looking for was some good customer service, compassion and sympathy. This place has poor management and unfriendly staff (which has been noted by other reviewers below), and for what they charge run as far as fast as you can!

First, the receptionists are snotty, gossipy and judgmental. This has been the major issue in this place. Secondly, the salon lost much of its clientele when they hiked up the prices significantly and stopped doing chidrens haircuts in a town filled with families. The hairdresser are good, the colorists as well. The owner, I think, just doesn’t care about feedback to make this place better. However now that the business has gone down and they are begging for their clients back through Groupon perhaps he will listen now. Again, get rid of the girls at the reception!!!

It was my first time at VP and I had a really great haircut with stylist Penny! After reading reviews before my appointment, I was a little apprehensive about the customer service… a catty salon staff is a huge turn off for me. However, everyone was perfectly friendly, especially Penny! I will definitely be back!

I’m a new customer of Vincent Palumbo Salon, and have been to this salon twice for a haircut. Each time I have found my haircuts to be impeccable. I am very happy to have found a local salon that knows how to cut fabulous hair. I would recommend this salon for the amazing hair professionals it employs. They each listen to what you want and do everything they can to have you feeling grand when you head out the door. (This would apply to the hair washers as well!)
I only wish I could say the same for the reception staff. I’m torn in my rating because I have noticed an unpleasant vibe from reception in the occasions I’ve been at this salon. Each time, the ladies at reception have been very unwelcoming – no greetings and they barely look up from their desks to acknowledge you.
My recent experience with the reception staff after my second cut convinced me that this attitude is a regular thing. After my cut, I went up to the front desk for payment and noticed the total price was incorrect. When I inquired, the receptionist rolled her eyes as much as a rude preteen to their mother, insisted that the price is correct and that there was nothing she could do about it. Eventually another receptionist intervened and corrected the total amount, with less bite (but not without her own glare).
To be honest, if the first receptionist had not been as rude as she was and explained why the bill was the way it was WITHOUT the egregious attitude and nasty looks, I think I may have just paid the bill as is because the cut was still great.
I believe the office/​general manager needs to look into this catty behavior because reception is the first and last impression of Vincent Palumbo’s a customer will experience. Both times I’ve left feeling good about my hair but not without a bad taste in my mouth caused by the eye-​rolls, looks, and general arrogant attitudes.

Worth a visit!
I visited the salon for the first time to get my highlights. The lady who did my hair was very careful and courteous. She was not the friendliest but she did do her job quite well.
I was few mins late to my appointment but the front desk did accommodate me since I called them prior to my appointment and let them know. Overall I had a very good experience. The salon was very clean, will definitely go back.
Also, I used my Groupon coupon, and it turned out to be very reasonable.

Josué is an excellent stylist. He is courteous, listens more than he talks and when I came back in the same day because I wasn’t sure it was exaaaaactly right, he went above and beyond to make sure I was happy with my cut.
Also, The receptionists are kind and the young lady who washed my hair gave me a scalp massage that almost relaxed me to sleep.

My hairdresser Katie was amazing I would have rebooked if they asked. Good experience overall but the front desk was a little weird and quiet… they barely said two words to me. Just giving feedback for the owner so Katie can retain her guests :) she was awesome and made me feel great!

Relocated space is great, products worthy of visit alone and a lot less pretense than prior with high rents!

Racquel is the best colorist I’ve ever had. She is a true miracle worker. I came in with extremely brittle, over processed bleach blonde hair. Racquel listened to me explain the look I wished to achieve, and then executed a coloring plan along with recommending products in order to give me the exact results I wanted. Everyone at the salon was both friendly and professional. The salon itself was spotless and modern. I no longer have hair that looks like it came out of a peroxide bottle, but rather a natural, complimenting natural dirty blonde. Highly recommend this spot!
