I put in an order for a 7:30 delivery at my workplace. 7:30 comes and goes, no food, so I work on something, notice it is 8:30, put in a call, and they claim the driver just left is on the way. I wait until 9:00, no food, call again, they make the same claim. 9:30 comes, and I stop by the security desk and they say that no one made the delivery. The place I work is very secure, all deliveries of food have to be intercommed in, and they meet with security at the front desk, and then security emails the person who placed the order that food arrived, so if it isn’t there, then it hasn’t been delivered. I call again, and they don’t pick up. I stop by the place after work, and I tell them about the delivery not happening and the phone calls. The woman there claims that all the deliveries has been made even after I explain that is not possible because the driver would have had to have been logged in and met with security, so security would absolutely know if the delivery was made. She walked away, and offered no resolution. AVOIDTHISPLACE!

Zero stars. Consistently late on delivery times and totally unwilling to make things right when they screw up an order. Please avoid at all costs. It is with a heavy heart that I write this.

This is definitely a solid option for Chinese takeout. But don’t expect your average whole-in-the-wall Chinese takeout joint. This place is pretty pricey for Chinese delivery; especially for a place where you can’t sit down… However I will say they make all their dishes with fresh veggies — no frozen crap, so I guess you get what you pay for. It’s a super quick and somewhat affordable option for quality, healthier Chinese takeout

While, yes, the execution of specific orders with specific substitutions and the like is not exactly expertly done, as long as you pick uncomplicated orders there is no reason why this place can’t be your favorite Chinese takeout in the Norwalk-Westport area. I’d especially recommend the General Tso’s chicken entrée with either chicken or shrimp(also I’d go on the spicier side with this one). Otherwise, they deliver very close to on time(always within a margin, on either side, of around ten minutes which is expected).

Called for delivery and advised that I have an allergy. They omitted the ingredient from one sushi roll but not the other. There is no mention of the ingredient in that roll on their menu. I called to complain and was told 1) I didn’t ask them to omit the ingredient from my entire order(which is ridiculous– I told them I was allergic to this item) and 2) that all restaurants in America serve this roll with that ingredient. It’s listed on their menu for every other roll besides this one, which is why I ordered it. How can I tell them to omit it from this roll if I have no idea it’s in there? Shouldn’t telling your server about your allergy prevent this from happening? Wouldn’t an apology for making me sick be appropriate rather than blaming me?

CT is full of awful Chinese food, but this one takes the moo shoo cake. I ordered pork dumplings which were okay, general tsos chicken which lacked flavor and sauce and were overcooked and dry, and the chow fun was flavorless. They didn’t give us chop sticks and the food was cold because they were 30 minutes late delivering to us(90 minutes after we ordered). I will not order here again.

The food is pretty good and prices about the same as things in the area, but the service is TERRIBLE. The last time I ordered a delivery to work, we tipped the guy a few bucks even though we’re practically next door to them and he looked at us and complained about the amount. It was probably about 15% for bringing one small bag of food and going less than 1 mile. They also already charge a delivery fee so we paid beyond that as well. Today I ordered twice online and drove to the restaurant twice only for the girl to say she hadn’t gotten the order either time. Her answer to me was that the phone is better. Fair enough, but then why do you have an online order portal if it’s not reliable. If I see you have an online order possibility I assume that it’s reliable. When ordering for a large group it’s much easier than by the phone. I ended up walking out without my food and I doubt I will ever go there again. There are too many other options in Westport to have to worry if they loose the order or not.

I am picky when it comes to Chinese food. Therefore it says a great deal that I find these guys to be very good. They utilize GrubHub, have a large delivery area, and are very expedient even during piqué hours. Very impressive. Westport historically is a very competitive market for Chinese restaurants. If they survive their first year, it usually indicates a place cuts the proverbial mustard. Westport Chinese Takeout is a perennial family favorite.

To be totally honest, I don’t understand why people think this place is so bad. Sure they have some pretty bad pieces on their menu, but there also some really great dishes as well. Personally I enjoy the juicy pork buns. Granted that they aren’t really pork buns(bit of a misnomer really) but they are still awfully delicious dumplings for any Chinese place. Also wonderfully executed are the fried pork dumplings which have always been really fresh and well done for me. If I had to give a suggestion for the chef, I suppose it would be to create more dumpling dishes on the menu and to make sure that they are done. Personally I haven’t had this problem but it seems like others have. Besides that it’s a great place to go if you don’t have much time and need to pick up some good Chinese!

My family used to love this restaurant. Fast service if you pick up and tasty. The past 3 – 4 times we have ordered though we have been disappointed. Things seem greasier and some menu items seem to have changed. We pretty much make the same order each time. My 5 year-old used to only eat Scallion Pancakes and soup. The Scallion Pancake recipe/presentation is different and to us, almost inedible. Not sure if ownership or chef has changed but it has not been for the better. It has us scrambling to find another quality Chinese restaurant in the area.

Have gotten here on 2 other occasions and the food was okay. Fast delivery and easy ordering thus I tried again last night. It was probably the worst Chinese food I’ve ever had. Horrible sesame chicken, way too soft tofu in a bad sauce with frozen peas and carrots. Steamed pork buns were average and wonton soup too gingery. Next time definitely will drive to Village Gourmet in Norwalk for great food.

It is seldom that I rate a place one star, but there’s also seldom a place I won’t give a second try. Sadly, I can’t justify spending another dime here, and I dropped $ 60 on a few items that were really terrible at Westport Chinese. They excel at efficient order taking, but the fun ends there. I called in an order for pickup, and was hopeful that the food would taste as good as it looked online. I felt swindled, as one does when ordering those majestic colossal cakes at a diner only to find that they taste like cardboard. The duck sauce was diluted, likely intentionally to save a few bucks. Leave the water for the real ducks please. This was offensive. The same holds for the drippy spicy mustard. The fried rice was bland, and closer in color to white rice. Again, it appeared as if ingredients were withheld to save on costs, and as a byproduct, flavor suffered significantly. The scallion pancakes were inedible, dripping(literally) with grease. They were discarded, and I had to warn my son not to tilt the container for fear the grease might ooze out the side. The Westport Roll(a cold sushi roll) was placed in the same bag as the piping hot dishes. Would have been fine if I ordered seared tuna, but alas no. The«crispy» beef was, well, not crispy and not spicy when«very very spicy» was requested. The General Tso’s Chicken might be appropriately renamed to Tso What. It was drenched with the sweet sauce more than I had ever seen. So overpowering, I could not taste the chicken. I can probably skip the candy apple at Halloween now. There was one soggy, tiny piece of token broccoli in the corner of the dish. I almost felt it had been sent there as punishment for something it did. Why even bother with it? Had the price been 40−50% less, I might have offered two stars, but I would still not return. A real shame since I was hoping this might be a go-to place for Chinese take-out in Westport.

Surprisingly they have good rolls. Make sure to order through grubhub app for faster delivery. I tried all the rolls and they are all good. Just dont get the eel /unagi roll. Their general tsos and similar dish doesnt come with fried rice, you gotta tell em if you wanted fried rice with it. I dont like their chinese food and their japanese menu is better. They should change their name to Westport Japanese Takeout lol

Terrible. I’ve given this place two tries. Horrible both. Rubbery chicken feels like it’s been microwaved. Noodles and shrimp taste a few days old. Sushi is doable. Go somewhere else.

If you really want to eat, go elsewhere. Ordered on line for delivery. Nice looking website, easy to navigate and they send an email confirm with an order number. They even say on the confirm that they’ll call you within 10 minutes if there’s any issues. Ok now fast forward 1 hour, no food delivered yet. A call into them reveals the absolute chaos and incompetence spinning inside this establishment. After 15 minutes on the phone, the guy couldn’t find the order number. He said he could see order numbers lower than mine and higher, but not mine. He actually thought it was funny and said he didn’t know what to do. So I hang up and start looking into plan B for dinner. 2 minutes later he called to inform me he found the order and they’d start cooking it right away. He stated the problem was and this a quote; «it’s busy here». So at this point my order would be delivered somewhere between 100 and 120 minutes«after» it was ordered. Mmmmm plan B food was good and I should have started with them to begin with

Delivered in 40 minutes during blizzard Nemo? Amazing. Good solid take out, as it should be since take out is what they specialize in. As other reviewers noted, no seats at this place, just a pick up counter and lots of outgoing deliveries. The Moo-Shoo is tasty, and big portion. Same for the Chicken and Broccoli. Standard take out — but four stars for the fast and reliable delivery. They also always include dry noodles, bonus for me!
