The owner calls me «Elvis.» He might call you Elvis too, if you like that sort of thing. Or perhaps even if you don’t. I don’t believe he knows my Christian name. Village opened the same year I was born. Some of my earliest memories are of eating here. I don’t want to calculate just how many times I’ve eaten here or had take out. High triple digits, I’m sure. I’m probably not the best judge as I’m clearly biased by my level of familiarity. But their pizzas are great. Thick crust, generous toppings. Heavy, stupor inducing. Challenge yourself. Beat yourself up a little. It’s worth it. You’ll learn something about yourself. They have gluten free options for those of you who hate your taste buds, and like to suck the magic out of life. Their other dishes are good too, carb– and calorie-heavy. Pasta, calzone, gyros. Hell, yeah. It always smells wonderful in there. Warm, windows fogged. Cozy and satisfying the way so few things are.

Village is mine and my sisters favorite restaurant. They are located right in the center of old Wethersfield. It’s the cutest area, especially in the summer when they’ve got the outdoor seating as well. We try to visit at least once a month. From their pizzas to their gyros and grinders ahhh so delicious. Always cooked very well and the staff is always super friendly. I believe it’s a family business that owns it. Even when we can’t make it in, I always do take out. They’ve got the best food!

The boyfriend and I decided to get out and explore the area after just moving and decided to stop here on a whim. We got the broccoli pizza with chicken and the wheat crust as well as the souvlaki. The pizza had broccoli and chicken aplenty and the crust was perfect. Great flavor. But the souvlaki was amazing! So delicious! I wish my belly was bigger so that I could keep eating it!

Their pizza is top notch. Take out or eat there this is the goto place for pizza in Wethersfield. During the warmer months they have a nice patio out front to eat outside. Inside the tables are clean and the service is second to none. Highly recommend them for a casual night out.

They have a wonderful location, in the town center of Old Wethersfield. There are plenty of people working here and the service is friendly. The pizza is mediocre and American-style, versus Italian-style(whether it be Neopolitan or Sicilian), meaning the texture of the crust is different and you have to specify adequate sauce coverage or you will be disappointed. I expected better quality and more topping for the price paid. I do give them credit for managing to make a hamburg pizza non-greasy.

ok. so really this is a cumulative review over the course of 4 experiences. i don’t normally wait so long but. life has been nothing short of completely nuts over the course of the last many months. so with that being said, here are the important pieces of said visit, IMHO. 1. the Greek salad leaves a great deal to be desired. i’m fairly certain the only thing to qualify it as such was a decent helping of entirely average feta a cheese. disclaimer: i am obsessed w Greek salad so i may be a tougher judge than most. 2. shared a pizza with friends after a drunken afternoon at old town and was obsessed. maybe it was the Irish car bombs but i thought the pizza was the bees knees. thicker crust. good sauce to cheese ratio. really couldn’t have been happier. 3. bae ordered me a surprise pizza to be delivered at home. again, a solid pizza, really no complaints. 4. attempted to order delivery on a Sunday evening. the service over the phone was so horrendous we said forget it. i have a very low tolerance when it comes to such things so I’m afraid we probably won’t ever be back. alas, it was a good run but i have left village pizza in my rear view mirror where it will likely stay.

Love this place. I’ve had their seafood pizza, mushroom pizza, hamburger pizza, and cheese pizza. They were all pretty delicious, oily so grab a napkin to sop up the oil. The salads are good though. I’ve really only tried their pizza and salads but I will definitely try their gyro next. Location is perfect because you can eat inside or outside. It’s close by the cove and there’s an ice cream shop right around the corner. I would recommend this place. Around dinner time is super busy especially around summer time. Lunch time is busy too so if you’re in a rush call and order for pick up.

This is one of a few places in town we go for pizza and grinders. The pizza crust is great and always generous with their toppings. Grinders are huge and loaded with meet and veggies, which the price reflects. Service is very friendly and efficient and they always have plenty of people working(servers and kitchen staff) on busy nights. Local pizza shop atmosphere inside and a half dozen or so outside tables to enjoy the beautiful Old Wethersfield scenery. They also deliver! Usually very fast and food comes hot.

I’ve been here a lot in the pat couple months with my friend and enjoy the service. There are free refills. You get to customize your pizza and ask to go easy on the aside or cheese. I shared a medium cheese pizza with my friend and we were able to have half xtra sauce(for my friend) and regular sauce(for me). In the end I was full and happy(stomach ache free)

Tasty pizza. Comfortable atmosphere. Although the staff is friendly, the servers seemed confused about who should actually be tending to our table… which was a little awkward when it came to ordering both drinks and food. I’m sure it was just a miscommunication, but we were hungry and had a lot of trouble catching the waitress’ eye despite an almost empty restaurant. And there was a hair in our bread rolls. Needless to say, the pizza saved this place. We ordered a large Hawaiian pizza on wheat crust(a nice option!) and we really enjoyed it. The size was perfect to split between three people, and the wheat crust was surprisingly tasty!(Not your typical cardboard texture.) If there’s a next time, I’ll go for the infamous chicken parm sandwich, which is raved about in other reviews.

Great Food, Large Portions, and Friendly Staff. This place has all the things a good business should have. To say the food is good would be an understatement. The portions are large and the prices are right. The staff is very friendly and the owners are good old fashioned business men. Also if your looking for a caterer then you need to go with these people… amazing across the board.

My favorite pizza place in the greater Hartford area. Their cheese to sauce to crust ratio is perfect. The crust, oh my lord, the crust is the most warm, fluffy, delicious crust to ever be attached to pizza. The restaurant itself is located in an old grocery store and they left the tiles up making where the produce, fish, etc. used to be located. The feeling is great in there and there is also nice outdoor seating for the summer. This place is my go to whenever I want to order pizza and is one of my favorite parts of Wethersfield. It is worth a visit to anyone who even remotely enjoys eating pizza!

I’m being generous and giving 2 stars. My family was excited to try a new pizza place, and this one had great reviews. We were encouraged when we arrived to a line out the door and a parking lot attendant who told us this pizza was comparable to Frank Pepe’s. Considering how full the restaurant was, our party of 5 got a seat within 10 minutes and a server arrived promptly and quickly got us our drinks. We ordered a pizza with peppers and onions, and another with hamburger, pepperoni and bacon. The hot bite-sized dinner rolls that were brought to the table after we ordered were good. The wait for the pizza wasn’t very long, and when it came, steaming hot and gooey looking, we were excited to dig in! Unfortunately, the veggie pizza was incredibly bland. I wanted it to be good, I tried convincing myself that it was good, but it just wasn’t. The meat pizza was more flavorful, probably due to the exorbitant amount of grease soaking it. The kids were enjoying it enough, and we had eaten about half, until my daughter almost took a bite out of a slice with what looked like a mosquito cooked onto it. We all stopped eating. When the server finally came over, and I pointed it out(the insect was obviously dead and legs cooked into the cheese), he asked if it had flown down and landed on it. I showed him how that couldn’t be quite possible. He asked if we wanted a new pizza which, at that point we didn’t. We asked for the check. He quickly brought the check over, and I was surprised that not a thing had been done to make up for the fact that we had had a bug cooked onto our meal. I didn’t expect to have the meal comped, but, I was surprised that there had not been any type of discount, or perhaps the kids sodas taken off the check. As a former server, I would have made some sort of adjustment. It was disappointing that the service wasn’t better at what was obviously a very popular family restaurant.

Village Pizza is a staple in Wethersfield. It’s a go-to restaurant for community donations, sports team gatherings, take out before a big dance, or just a place to stop in during a walk around Old Wethersfield. There is great outdoor seating which is perfect for a summer night. The people that work there are so pleasant and kind. The food is delicious, especially the pizza and salads. I enjoy just the good olé’ cheese pizza. Plenty of parking: there is a lot and street parking throughout Old Weth.

You may wait for a bit but this is a pizza that is worth it. Pizza places don’t usually stand out in my mind like Village Pizza does and I have only eaten here once. The downtown Wethersfield area is very neat too.

Anne C. and I have been looking for another pizza place in our new home area and I think that we may have found it. While the small size was a ‘small’ size, it was 8 pieces and was more of a personal pan size. The flavor was very good, I enjoyed the specialty pizza called Primavera Pizza, which has Olive oil, fresh garlic, broccoli, mushrooms, fresh tomatoes, zucchini, mozzarella and herbs. It was very good; Anne C. enjoyed her own pizza with sausage, spinach and garlic; it was very good also. The sauce was tasty and I really enjoyed it; the crust was the regular crust; next time we’ll have to try the thin crust. We also tried the garlic bread with and without the cheese; it was ok; the bread seemed more of a sandwich roll bread with butter and seasoning; there wasn’t much crunchy-ness to the bread; the taste was ok; it was better when dipped in the red sauce that was on the side. I would prefer a more heartier bread. We had the take out but Anne C. mentioned that they have some beers on tap and I would like to try some other choices; we’ll be back soon!

Fantastic little local pizza place. If you want a nice thick crust that’s delicious then this is the place to be. PRO: Home town feeling Huge youth sports community sponsor Outside seating Massive calzones(biggest you’ve ever seen) Delicious pizza crust Amazing pizza(Try red sauce, meatballs, ricotta it’s like eating pizza lasagna) Friendly staff CON: BBQ chicken pizza must be avoided. Way too much BBQ sauce. It’s a replacement for pizza sauce.

I went here after driving by. Ordered a medium pizza. It’s was less than average to me. I come from Philadelphia and New York, so this pales in comparison. The crust tasted pre made. I ordered a pie with bacon and needed to add salt. It was awful but I was very hungry at the time. The two stars was for the service only. I will never go back. To all who likes this place, great. I hope you enjoy it more than I did.
