I re-visited this Papa Gino’s location this Saturday, being my second visit(the other was several years ago). Definitely isn’t the most appealing location from the outside, yet the interior seating room is quite large for a pizza parlor and is consistently not busy and extremely clean. Plus, great pizza, I find that if you get pizza from Papa Gino’s, it really varies from really good to really bad, and this is one of the many ‘really good’ locations, which is another plus. Service and waiting time is pretty good, besides a few kinks they eed to work out. My total was $ 11.15 and I paid with a twenty dollar bill to get back $ 2.15. Uhhhh, what? Then the cashier(who possibly had a small problem, not really sure, and if so, still happy they are employing people of such). Plus, the manager straightened out the issue VERY quickly and was quite friendly(I think his name was Rich). Overall, great experience at the Weymouth Papa Gino’s. Ended up being a perfect spot for lunch through my travels in Braintree and Weymouth. Conveniently located next to Walgreens on Route 53 in Weymouth, at the junction of Middle Street(by the Walmart), and VERY close to Route 18 and Route 3. Good pizza spot in the East Weymouth area. 4 stars.

There is something about this particular location. I’ve lived in a lot of places and ordered from many different Papa Gino’s, and it’s been my favorite pizza ever. But this location can never seem to get my order right. The past 3 – 4 times I’ve gotten delivery, either my whole order is wrong(they delivered someone else’s order to me) or part of it is missing. The drivers are always nice, and they’re fast when they have to go back and get the right order, but I wish it would be right the first time.

Price to value, the food is pretty good and the location is clean. The pizza had a good balance of sauce and cheese. Steak and Cheese wasn’t bad either.

This longtime staple of my childhood is quite a mixed bag. I hadn’t had a pizza from here in quite awhile and figured on a quiet, snowy evening with playoff football on would be a good time. Being the savvy consumer that I am, I downloaded the mobile app to order. The problem was the app didn’t recognize Weymouth as a valid city. Ok… never mind. I guess I’ll call. The guy who took my order was hard to understand and spoke really fast. Good thing my order of «one large cheese» is quite basic. I decided to pick it up because I needed drinks while I was out. Swrvice picking it up was fine. I’m surprised the décor hasn’t changed here since I was a kid. I almost have to appreciate that it hasn’t, as it’s sort of out of a time capsule. Everything is the same, right down to the cheese and pepper flakes shaker and plastic cafeteria trays. The pizza was slightly under cooked, but otherwise what i usually expect from Papa Gino’s. Maybe it’s my improved diet and not having eaten this pizza in awhile, but I absolutely blew up my bathroom 2 times in 30 minutes the next morning. I do agree with a prior review that Gio’s is the best pizza in Weymouth. Capones is not bad, either.

When I called for a pizza and a salad the person taking the order asked me to repeat myself 3 times. I asked for a large Broccoli pizza and a greek salad. He hung up abruptly after telling me 30 minutes. When the delivery person arrived she only had a salad in hand– no pizza. I explained what I had ordered and she said she didn’t know what to tell me besides to call and reorder it since I wasn’t charged. I opened the salad to find there was no salad dressing with it and it looked like it had been stomped on. I called and spoke to the manager who said she would make the pizza and it would be sent out in 40 more minutes. She acted as though she was doing me a favor by not charging me a second delivery fee. Still charged me for the pizza. It has now been almost an hour and the pizza is still not here. I will never use this papa ginos again – awful all day long experience.

Called ahead last night so pizza would be ready when we arrived to eat there. A young girl answered phone — it was clear it was a) her first day on the job and b) she had zero training. She wasn’t even sure where the store was located — I just wanted to be certain that I had the right Papa Gino’s. Then she insisted on my address — why? I was going there to eat! When I finally ordered and arrived there, we paid and then sat in the dining room. After 15 minutes I went to the counter to inquire about the pizza. That’s when they discovered that it was in a box and stone cold. We had it reheated but it didn’t help — worst pizza of my life — stingy on the sauce and cheese — just a dry pathetic pie. NEVERGOINGTHEREAGAIN!

I have been a long time PG’s fan for pizza, but ordered in from this location for the first time tonight. I got home to find no food in the fridge and decided to order a chicken parm sandwich and a side of fries. Order came 20 minutes after the late end of the delivery window they gave me, and I opened up my sandwich to find it had no sauce on it. I called to see if they would buzz some sauce over, but was passed around from associate to associate for 5 minutes before finally catching the manager. He talked over me, telling me they’d bring a whole new sandwich in 15 minutes — I tried to tell him I just wanted some sauce dropped off(I’m only a few minutes up the street), but he continued to talk over me and — before hanging up on me — told me a new sandwich would be here in 15 minutes. Well, over a half hour later still no sign of them. So I call back, and the manager tells me the guy is just about to leave with my sandwich. At this point, close to 2 hours after my original order, I’m starving and don’t want to wait to see if they might show up with my food. So I asked the manager just to refund my money for the sandwich, and he acted really put out by it and like I had ruined his day. He finally agreed to refund the money and hung up, no goodbye, no sorry, no nothing. I know it’s just a pizza place and you can’t expect much, but what disappointed me was that they had ample opportunity to rectify the situation(I wasn’t giving them a hard time, just asked them to fix it), and they just couldn’t get it together. Everyone makes mistakes, but even though it’s cheap food you still want to get what you order in a timely manner. I won’t order from here again — next time, I’m calling Gio’s in Weymouth, more reliable and service oriented.

We have picked up from this location and everything was good. However, whenever we’ve placed an order online it’s taken about an hour. Today it’s been almost an hour and a half and nothing. We called 20 minutes ago and were told it was on its way. It’s just arriving now. This location is fine for pickup but terrible for delivery.

Came in, grabbed a couple slices of pepperoni and a soda and sat down in the booth. Tasted great and enjoyed the quick service. Nothing wrong with this Papa Ginos, and the pizza is better than GIOS pizza closer.

Yeah, I know — a Unilocal review for Papa Gino’s? Well I thought I’d just leave something for someone considering this location. I never get chain pizza, there’s far too many readily available mom and pops around, but in a pinch one night I gave this location a shot. Ordered and paid online, which was mighty convenient. Then the pizza showed up about 12 minutes late, no big deal, but it was also room temperature. I’ve often heard the complaint that some pizza crust taste like cardboard but I’ve never experienced that myself — until this pizza. Really, just like cardboard — the consistency too. The bill for one large and one small delivered came to $ 24, which really is way too high for something so average and cold. So yeah, just a head’s up to anyone considering Papa’s(at least this location) — go with Olympic instead.
