Never had«Thai» food before, but for authentic this isn’t quite what I was expecting. Pieces of grilled chicken, crunchy red peppers and onions in some type of soy sauce. I felt like I could have made that at home and was left underwhelmed. The lo-mein was good, that being said I have never experienced bad lo-mein… Todd B’s review from 12/27/2015 is spot on about the smell of potpourri coming from the bathroom and overpowering the entire restaurant, 4 months ago, you would think they’d stop doing that? If I go there again I’ll definitely be getting takeout.

When walking in don’t expect anyone to greet you right away and then when they do just remember that’s the bathroom that you smell and the potpourri is overwhelming As for the food I would say it was served in a timely manner and the workers there are very very friendly but the Thai basil chicken was underwhelming and the pad Thai was absolutely disgusting I make this at home and even I know how to not over cook the noodles we had Mai Tais that were flavored right but probably missing about half the alcohol Needless to say I won’t be back

Best Thai place around! I travel out of my way to make this the go to spot for all special occasion dinners. The food is fantastic, always fresh and flavorful. Some of my favorites are the seafood Gra Pow, the mango fried rice and the crispy noodle pad Thai. Their cocktails and bar selection have never disappointed. But the best part of this restaurant is the staff, they are always pleasant and friendly and provide excellent service.

THEPANANGCURRYISAMAZING, I live down the street and happened to notice it driving by, it’s in a plaza so it’s easy to miss it but you don’t want to trust me. Inside was very clean and cutely decorated(although I only ordered take-out so I can’t comment on the dining experience) but the young man who helped me at the register was very kind, will definitely be back!

I know when you go to a thai restaurant you don’t think about coffee, but this place has the BEST iced coffee. Definitely give their iced coffee a try. The food is also very delicious. The popular food items seem to be made fresh to order and not in bulk batches, a plus over competitors. Some of the menu items are prepared mildly different than what I’m used to. I can’t knock that they have their own signature, however sometimes times you want what you want. On the flip side it makes the items you do like that much better. I also noticed the prices are much much more reasonable than a lot thai places. Pretty much everything on this menu includes rice, where rice is appropriate, and it doesn’t cost extra on top of the good prices and good food. I noticed a lot of other places make you pay extra for rice on the sides. As such my favorite thai entrée is 14 – 20 dollars on average and here it’s only 11. I wish I could drink their iced coffee every time I had a coffee. The end :)

Good chicken satay, nice and juicy. However I had the worst Tom yum soup I’ve ever had. It was insanely spicy with a thick film of red oil on top, not appetizing! I couldn’t eat it. Also the peanut sauce was lacking… It was really thin and oily. I like a thicker peanut sauce.

Everything was spot on. Came here for lunch on a cruddy weather Sunday. Got two apps: satay and fresh rolls. The Fresh Rolls were ridiculously good. Fresh tasting, and large. I got the Spicy Basil Pad Thai, which could have used more spicy but was really good, with well cooked veggies and solid chunks of pork. Eugene got the Crazy Noodles, which he definitely enjoyed as well. Lunch prices were great too, definite value for all the food we got.

I had lunch here today. This place continues to be amazing. The food is so fresh and looks so pretty on the plate. The staff is very friendly and greet you with a big smile. Today we had Shrimp Pad Thai and Tod Mun seafood and Shumani for appetizers. Everything was really delicious. I can’t rave about this restaurant enough!

This place is a hidden gem. We stumbled upon this place after going karting at f1. The food, the service, the portions are great. The prices are very affordable, especially for lunch. My favorites are the red curry with chicken. The curry is packed with flavor. I also recommend the spicy basil pad thai. It’s delicious. Don’t forget the fried ice cream. ITSHUGE. It’s the size of a softball.

Had problem finding it. under Unilocal«nearby» it came up a different name. whatever… I was hungry, saw some sign that said Siam and I knew it was Thai food and … like I said. I was hungry. Ok. first blush like every other Asian interior. Maybe a few more fans and a few more live fish swimming around in a clean aquarium tank. Second blush was when I went to the bathroom. It’s to the left of the tiki bar… down a dark. did I say dark? I meant freaking pitch black dark. So I took out my trusty handy Iphone(plug for Iphone and a bash against silly samsung or old white man blackberry crackberry phones). This hall was so dark I thought I was mugged. but. no. I just really had to go to the bathroom. I got through it with my Iphone Flashlight App. Phew. made it. Food. actually perfect. Loved it. Not sure what location I went to, it says 1st but if they had three, do they name them all Siam 1st? Or. 2nd? Or. I would find my way back here to eat again. It was worth it. Great flavor(Panang Chicken) great quanitity, great service, great prices.

Called ahead like the Groupon said and when we arrived they had the table ‘reserved’ for us. We were the only ones dining for about half our meal. Kinda like the restaurant was closed just for us! Food was good, service was excellent, will def come back.

A definite fan of this place. Not everything is perfect. But, a good and fair priced meal with great service! I had driven by the spot a few times and thought nothing of it… one of many Asian take out places, right? Not so fast, walk into Siam 1st and it’s a nice sit down restaurant. Like momma always said: «Never judge a book by it’s cover!» The Tom Kha was just OK. I have had better, and would probably stick to the Tom Yum in this place, but that was the only item that we didn’t love. I came with a group of people and the service was great. The chef even came out during the meal to see how we liked it! The duck was delicious and so was the crispy pad thai! Definitely save room for the fried ice cream using Lizzy’s Ice Cream. Great way to end your meal! It is a little out of the way for me, but I will definitely be returning.

I saw a deal on groupon and living social so purchase and wanted to try it out. The places is not bad. The waiter was nice and friendly. I Like how i ask for more veggies on pad thai noodles when i order chicken and i know there only so much veggie there is on plate. when you just order chicken pad thai. So they were fine when i ask for extra veggies on my noodle dish. I went there once for take out and they were friendly to do it. The waiter remember me when i took my daughter there for the first time and few time. I will drive to this location it about 15 min drive to get take out. It better then thai places near my house. I would recommend this places to any one. it little bit drive out of my way but i would go here again. THe chili chicken is not bad. it has it sweetness to it.

Oops, we missed out on getting 10% off our bill for having paid by cash. There was a coupon in the take-out menu. Or we could have gotten $ 5 off our order since we had spent over $ 30. Yes, that was another coupon. Well, pick up a take-out menu on your way in, and maybe you can use one of their 4 coupons. Siam 1st is located in the strip mall known as Merchants Common, and since we were there for a relatively late dinner, we had plenty of parking to choose from. We elected to share a few dishes. I enjoyed the Crispy Chicken Pad Thai from the non-oily crisp chicken to the sweet traditional noodles. The rather dark pork Pad See Ew was tasty as well, but was lacking in gravy. I also liked the fried tofu cubes in the tofu eggplant sweet basil, but even their mild version was much too hot for my taste. I had to douse the heat with mouthfuls of the rice that came with it. Service we had here was fine, with the odd exception of the pineapple fried rice we had ordered. The original plate that arrived looked good, but oddly missing any hint of the titled fruit. When we asked what it was, we were told that it was another fried rice, and so it was whisked away. The replacement that later arrived had the correct curry color, with cashew nuts sprinkled in. But we still couldn’t see any pineapple. Nor did it taste at all of the fruit — juice or otherwise. Oh well. The veggies in it still retained some bite, but as a whole, the curry flavor sort of overwhelmed the dish. Prices here are pretty reasonable, with each of our dishes being priced $ 9.95. Teas were a little high though at $ 2 apiece, even considering the free refills.

I came here on the whim of a groupon purchase, because I’m pretty sure I’d have not given this place a second look otherwise. Not to say that it’s particularly bad or anything, but nothing so special really. So to the matter at hand. Per Groupon’s orders, I made a reservation for my girl and I. We get there a little early and they’ve placed a nice, little«Reserved» sign for our table… let’s forget about the fact that there were only about three other groups in the entire place. The setting was ok. Everything kinda glowed reddish and there were a couple of aquariums with the usual type fish. Food — We started off with the Siam First’s Tour. This is combo mix of chicken wings, crab rangoons, dumplings, spring roll and satay. I only liked the rangoons and the spring rolls. The satay was dry, the dumplings were slimey, and one of our chicken wings looked suspect, I’ll leave it at that. For the entrée I got the Panang Curry Chicken, while my GF got the Pacific rice(I think it was a special). The rice had shrimp, scallops, and mussels in it. The curry was good and the rice was great. I was definitely stealing some of mussels when my girl wasn’t looking. Now on to the service. Our water glasses didn’t ever get refilled and it took over 10 minutes after we finished eating for the waiter to come around so we could ask for the bill. That was annoying. Overall, I’d probably consider coming here more for a lunch than for a dinner.

Like Thai food, liked the other Thai place in this town, so I took a shot and purchased a Groupon for this place. Nice little place for being in a strip mall. Booths line the dining room, the bar is in the back, and a strange area is in the middle of it all with tables and fixed seating surrounding it. Décor is average. We were greeted pleasantly by the hostess, and waiter was friendly. My go-to dish at any Thai place is Green Curry. The ingredients vary at each place, but there are a certain number of staples. When my dish came out without the usual eggplant, I noticed right away. Our waiter hadn’t checked up on our food, so I flagged him down and mentioned it. He said he would check with the kitchen why my curry was missing this key veggie. I have to admit that eggplant is one of my faves, and the combo of veggies in green curry is one of the main reasons why I love it so much. This is why I was particularly picky. 15 min later my dish was back in front of me and it now had 5 pieces of eggplant, slightly undercooked. Besides this mishap, the flavor of the dish was average. My husband’s beef and broccoli dish tasted pretty good, with the perfect amount of spice. He also got a Thai iced coffee which was a pretty good. We shared a Sweet Mango Sticky Rice dessert, which was average as well. We would much rather go to the other Thai place in town.

The Thai food fairy has sprinkled her fairy dust on me pretty heavily. We’ve been going to one Thai food restaurant after another lately and I’m still not weary. One of the best things about a Groupon in my opinion, is that it gives you incentive to try places that you might not otherwise know about or might not have considered. Such was our experience with Siam 1st. Although it’s only one town over from where I live, it’s in a part of town I rarely find myself. So when I saw the Groupon being offered, I snapped one up. I’m happy to report that we had a most satisfying meal here in pleasant surroundings with a most gracious staff. It’s a suprising find in yet another uninspired strip mall. This place has a banner on the outside, declaring that TV Diner has made note of this place which to me doesn’t mean much since I think that show loves almost every restaurant they review. But we were happy to find that ultimately we agreed that this place is a keeper. We were dismayed however to walk in on a Saturday night around 7:00 or so to find it almost empty. There were only two other tables full. Only one other couple came in after we were seated. Initially, this lack of patrons concerned us. They have a nice beer and cocktail list including a Thai beer called Chang that our server told us had only recently begun coming into the US. It was a big 22 ounce flavorful beer. The menu is extensive and in fact comes in a spiral bound book. There is an array of appetizer, soup, salad and entrée selections from which to choose. As we perused the appetizer section, I was dismayed to see only one item that was vegeterian. I asked the server if I was missing something and were there anymore non-meat offerings. He asked us if we wanted to to have some vegetable tempura which wasn’t on the menu. We happily agreed to this and ordered that along with vegetable rolls. The tempura turned out to be a knockout fave. The batter was light, airy and not greasy. We loved it. The server said the tempura wasn’t on the menu because they are not always able to make it. It apparently depends what’s going on in the restaurant on a given night which I didn’t quite understand. But if you go: ask for it! As for the vegetable rolls, they were a little dry and bland. Not our favorite. For my entrée I ordered the Crazy Noodles which were a delicious flat noodle that came with a very spicy sauce accompanied by a delicious stir-fried assortment of vegetables to which you can add a protein. I added tofu. It was really very good and I loved the spice. My husband ordered a dish called Seafood Gra Pow with spicy basil sauce that he enjoyed very much although ultimately I think he would have preferred the heat a notch lower. His tolerance for spicy isn’t as high as mine but it was so good that eyes watering and sinuses clear, he ate it up. We were too full from dinner to try dessert although the ginger ice cream sounded compelling. We’ll definitely put this place on our rotation of Thai restaurants on the South Shore. My wish for this place is that they would add some additional non-meat appetizer selections to match the choices in the entrée department where I had no trouble finding something. And a huge thank you to the lovely staff: the gracious hostess who brought us to our table, our kind and friendly server, and the young man who brought our food and cleared the table. As we left a chorus of «Thanks yous, goodbyes, and come again soon» filled the air. Beautiful!
