I pretty much second Mindy L.‘s review of The Next Page Café. Perhaps it’s because my husband and I are among those«thirty-somethings» she mentioned in her review. I will preface this review by saying that I love live music(quality live music, that is) and I was very impressed by the group we saw here. The people watching was fantastic, of course, and I was amazed by the large group of people getting down on the dance floor. As she mentioned, the pizza is good… no frills good but I have no problem eating off a paper plate. It’s nice and crispy with just the right amount of cheese and really hits the spot after a few brews. Speaking of the brews, again, no frills here. As self-professed beer geeks there was nothing here we were too excited about but I was happy grabbing a seasonal Sam Adams brew(Rebel IPA on this trip) and then for purposes of nostalgia(read: college), enjoying a Miller Lite. Bottom line, it was a good time and I was impressed by the cleanliness of the place and the friendliness of the staff. We will certainly be back soon!

Wow, some reviews are really harsh! I don’t think, in my limited experience, some of the reviews are warranted. I’ve gone a couple times now(just moved to the neighborhood) and feel compelled to provide my qualifications prior to continuing with my review. 1. I’m not a «fifty-something» — I’m in my early 30’s. Who cares what the median age of the place is(unless you’re trying to score and in that case, this probably helps you out. You’re welcome.) 2. I wouldn’t qualify myself as «working class», but so what if I was? 3. I’m certainly not a «loud drunk» — wait, I’m going to amend that, I certainly AM a «loud drunk» but not at 2:00PM. More like 12:00AM. Given those three points, I think I can provide a realistic and balanced opinion of Next Page Café. It is certainly a «working class pub in a working class town» as someone else put it. No one has ever been rude or mean to me. Perhaps that’s because I don’t walk in and act disgusted or thumb my nose at the other patrons of the bar? Just a thought. Part of the major appeal for the place is the love for music. They get some great bands(I saw«The Dons» this past Saturday night… and me and my other«thirty-something friends» loved the band, loved the people-watching and loved how much fun everyone at the bar was having). Yeah, it gets loud — but it’s a bar! When I first came here, I was astounded at the cleanliness. The floors aren’t sticky — but if you are popping by after the second shift has started on a Saturday night… I’m pretty sure that the floors start to get messy. I spill on the regular… when I’m sober. So after a couple drinks, yeah… things get«sticky» but if you come here on an «off» night — the staff keeps the place pretty damn clean. Even the ladies room was cleaner than I had expected. I wouldn’t say to come here for the food. It’s actually not bad(the bar pizzas are really good), but you will be served on paper plates with plastic utensils. There are plenty of bars that just have a rack of chips covered in a layer of dust that grace the wall of their establishment. This is not one of those places. They serve decent food, the bartenders are friendly and quick to provide service and will often stop to chat for a few seconds before moving on to the next customer, and it’s a fun place to listen to great live music. I feel like some folks, thought their opinions are completely valid, might need to get off their high horses and have some fun! Other notes: CASHONLY.

very, very loud and antagonizing. I drive through this area all the time and this area is a residential area which means an establishment should take some responsibility when it comes to the noise pollution that they are causing. my friend lives in area and it is as such a fifty –five or older frat party that happens every single night. I was over his house next door and It was a Tuesday and I heard loud concert party blast music flood the streets. I said to my friend: «gees, I thought that establishment only had loud music Fridays and Saturdays my friend said: no, every single day. I said please tell me they don’t have it on Sundays. He said every single day; even Sundays. He attends college and he shuts the windows and hears the music no matter what. To conclude: this is not downtown Clubs In Boston this establishment is in a residential community. Have some care for the neighbors and have music on the weekday not every single day!!! two thumbs way down.

Sunday night, stopped in to watch the second half of pats game, 9 people at bar I sit chill, and wow. Talk about a crowd of drunks. I had to tape it. Unreal. After a few trying to get a beer was like pulling teeth bartender was too busy sitting on the cooler talking, I heard the drunks calling her name so I yelled for her by name she made her way over but wow. Service? If you want it on a Sunday night not happening here, ya put the juke box on while pats are on. Never again here. Then I get the bill and someone’s else’s glass of wine is on my tab. I was chatting with her so I let it slide but buyer beware Place sucks.

Not a fan. Went there after recently moving to town, we wanted to try every place in the area… ugh. Walked in on the Saturday night. There was a live band playing and the place is so small you can’t have a conversation with anyone its so loud. Feet stuck to the floor, entire place was filled with smoke from the kitchen, had to wait 10 minutes to get a drink and it wasn’t even busy. We were also the only ones under 40. Needless to say we drank our beer quickly and ran.

A GREAT Blues jam on Thursday nights, now run by a really good musician and total pro, Willie J Laws(check him out on youtube). It isn’t a fancy place, but I honestly think their little personal size pizza is some of the best tasting pizza around. You get some of the best music around, and on Thursdays — FREE pizza is put out at around 9pm. The crowd is local and they sure do like to have a good time, but always friendly and never scary.

Most of the other reviews are spot on. Good place to go when you’re already buzzed so you’ll fit in and feel comfortable. I think most the people in here get off work around 2pm and start early. Cheap pizza on Tues and its very good bar pizza. A watered down version of Southie or Charlestown bar clientele. All good guys/gals just there to hoist a few. Can be loud and have a few meatheads here and there, not a place to bring a first date(unless you picked her up in China Town 20 minutes before)

This place is a working class pub in a working class town. Some of these reviews make it out to be some seedy dive patronized by nothing but the lowest forms of life on Earth. I personally have never been to a bar that doesn’t have a few drunks sitting around. Just because the drunks at Felt or Saint are wearing $ 200 t-shirts that are two sizes too small doesn’t mean they’re not drunks. If you’re looking for a $ 20 pizza from The Fours or a steak from Morton’s than why are you in Jackson Square in Weymouth? It’s $ 5 for a pretty good pizza, they always have at least one good craft brew on tap, and they have pool, darts, and plenty of TVs for watching a game. The bartenders are friendly and funny and the patrons are pretty cordial. On Tuesdays they have $ 2 pizzas. I grew up in Brockton right down the street from the Cape Cod Café — probably the best bar pizza in the area. When I moved to Braintree there was nothing close by but cheap, bad pizza. When I found this place I was pretty psyched because I missed the feeling of security of having a good bar pie around the corner for emergency purposes. I guess I would consider myself a regular there. I probably grab a pizza and a few beers there with friends once a week or so. I even play Keno occasionally. I guess if that’s what it means to some of these reviewers to be some sort of degenerate that would frequent such an establishment, than call me a degenerate.

A total locals place. No real kitchen open for Saturday lunch, just crappy looking pizza. Does have Smithwick’s on tap however.

Good neighborhood place. Great Pizza. This is not a trendy place to be seen at as many reviewers before me may have thought. It is a place to chat with friends enjoy libations and good food. If that is scary to you, do us all a favor and stay away. There are regulars there but don“t worry they don“t bite. Buy them a beer!

Went there today with my family, 1:30PM or so. Nobody was there besides the staff. Sat down and ordered 2 pizza’s. The pizza’s took a little while, but the bartender(girl, maybe late 20’s) treated my kids fine, indulging them with basic chit chat. The pizza was excellent, small bar pizza that filled all of us. $ 13.85 for the pizza’s and small conversations go a long way.

The pizza was REALLY good — I rate it better than Town Spa or Lynwoods. And the prices very reasonable. And free music too from great bands. The crowd is a bit scary/crazy though, which actually adds to the entertainment value!

Probably the best bar pizza anywhere. Great local bar that has some of the best local blues talent on Thurs night«open mike» hosted by Bob«satch» Romano. Friday and Saturdays there is always feature Bands. Blues mostly and some rock. The place has a good vibe. Most night the dance floor is full. Drinks are reasonable. Also a good pub menu. Never a cover for music. Well worth stopping in, Guarantee you’ll come back again!
