Two stars, would be 1 but we had some good laughs so I’m in a good mood. Came here with my family for Father’s Day on my uncle’s suggestion that it was decent and not as bad as it used to be. He was wrong. The food was okay, but much of it was tough and seemed as if it had been sitting out for hours. Our biggest complaint was the cleanliness, or lack thereof. The first thing we noticed was that our feet were sticking to the carpet. I thought I had either stepped in gum or was imagining it, until my girlfriend told me her sandals kept sticking. She almost lost one and fell down. The highlight of the evening was the state of the bathroom. My dad came out first and said, «I wouldn’t use the handicapped stall if I were you.» Someone had clearly either taken a dump on the seat/floor or wiped some of it on both. I was going to post a picture here, but to their credit it was cleaned up by the time we left. The third thing we noticed was a gentleman who decided he would be more comfortable without his shoes on. Yes, he was walking around in a public restaurant in just his filthy socks. His socks were so dirty in fact that some of us observing thought he may have been wearing brown sandals. He was not. The icing on the cake to our evening out had nothing to do with the restaurant, but was a fitting end to the night. The car parked next to my aunt was filled with about 20 empty McDonalds soda cups piled in the backseat. All in all, great night of family entertainment and memories, but we will not be eating here again. That is all. Happy Fathers Day, Dad!

So I’m giving this place 4 stars, I debated giving it 3 stars but I think 4 is where it’s at. taking into consideration price and not comparing it to non buffets. The food here is OK. They have some sushi that is the bare minimum to call sushi but it’s still sushi. They have a hibachi station, were you can pick what you want and they will make it for you. On Friday nights they have crab legs, these crab legs are hit or miss and they break up the clusters into individual legs but it’s a buffet who really cares. The food is all ok, I like the walnut chicken but I wouldn’t say anything here is the best Chinese food I have ever had, at the same time you’re at a buffet, a very in-expensive buffet. You get what you pay for and this being one of the few cheap buffets I’m ok with that. If you want better quality Chinese food go to Hunan taste in Denville and you are going to pay for it. The biggest grip I have about this place… The ice-cream machine makes lack luster ice-cream. Its soft serve but it’s really soft serve. I think crushing up a Viagra and putting it in here might do the trick or bring in a large population of elderly people. Seriously though it need to have the temperature adjusted.

Easter Sunday was dismal At The Fortune Buffet. Most of the food was cold or barely warm. the same ribs sat out for the one hour we were there and we’re not refreshed with edible ones. This visit dropped it from 4 stars to 2. On a quiet Sunday they were taking advantage of their customers and trying to save a few dollars

Very cheap, plus we have coupons from the mail package. Not amazing or anything special. typical Chinese buffet. The items could be refreshed more often. Never really crowded. Good place to go if you have hungry boys to feed at lunch.

Went to this buffet last night after about 2 years of not going there and the food was AWFUL. The food was either cold, dried out or too crispy and flavorless. 4 people and we only ate one plate each and not even a full plate. I hated paying the check. NEVERWILLGOBACKTHEREAGAINNORWOULD I RECOMMENDIT. AWFUL! AWFUL. We were all hungry when we went home. Money down the toilet.

Food is not bad for a Buffett. Seems to be mostly fresh. Chicken on a stick and crab Rangoon rock. Service the last few times has been terrible. Once the server was vacuuming around our table while we were eating. Another time(today) the server was just rude and clueless. Had to ask for napkins, plates not cleared, asked for water with lemon, tea and a kids cup of water. My wife got an adult cup, my son and I got styro kids cups. No lemons with the water. When I asked she point at the Buffett. Would it be too much to ask for her to go get a few lemons in exchange for a better tip.

I’m not big on buffett’s, but I decided to go to this place because my family asked me to. The food was not that great. Some of the chicken were cold. The boneless spare ribs were mostly fat and also cold. The egg drop soup was rather salty, so I didn’t have much. I witnessed a woman getting lomain with the tongs but also with her bare hands. That turned me off so much and one of the reasons I dislike buffett’s because people don’t know how to act. Positive note: staff was friendly while we were paying. It’s fairly cheap, not sure if it was a lunch price or what, but it was $ 6.75/person. I’ll stick to PF changs.

This place isn’t bad. Fortune Buffet as it is now called located in wharton about a mile or 2 from rockaway mall, Isn’t that great either however. I’m pleased with the price. 17 $ to feed 2 people as much as they want is a good deal in my book. So let’s break it down. Pro: It’s a buffet, you can stuff yourself on a budget. Con: The food is adequate at best. Nothing in the entire buffet jumped out at me as standing out from any other Chinese place I’ve eaten. Pro: There is many, many different things to choose from. Including a dessert cart seafood cart american and asian carts. It really is a massive selection. Con: I was there about 11:15 am, According to their hours they had opened at 11. Why the was a lot of the food cold? By the time I got my plate back to the table, it wasn’t even room temperature it was just flat out cold. How? The main question is, will I go back? If I’m in the area id be willing to head back. Especially if I find myself real hungry and almost broke. It does seem to be a beacon for seniors also, That part is 100% true. It’s average.

OK. Having had so many poor(flat-out horrible) Chinese Buffet experiences, I have to say that Ming’s Court(okay, okay… Fortune Buffet) is still the Blue-ribbon winner. Lets face it– an egg-roll is going to taste pretty cruddy after sitting in a steam tray for an hour. This place is no exception. Even fresh, the egg-rolls here are«meh.» BUT the fried shrimp, sweet and sour chicken, Crab Rangoon, and Chicken-on-a-stick are all good. My first course is always a plate of deep fried stuff, a few dumplings and some Dim Sum. I usually saunter back over to the main buffet tables after my fried-food orgy… the white rice is a safer bet than it’s fried-rice cousin… trust me. The black-pepper chicken, honey chicken, beef and broccoli, and the Lo Mein are usually good choices. I’ll sometimes further the gluttony and go back for round 3… sometimes I’ll get a plate of peel-and-eat shrimp or a few crab legs if they look particularly large. If not, I’ll grab a bowl of hot and Sour soup(its always good) and a few more dumplings. This is the last of a dying breed. It’s hidden away between a laundromat and a Farmer’s Market(steer clear of that particular farmer’s market… I’ll review it later) in Wharton. The only major complaint that I have is with the bathrooms. They are poorly maintained and really bring the over-all ambiance of the place down a few notches. its a shame since having someone clean the bathrooms a few times per day is a cheap investment.

For the price and quality of the food, this was pretty good. Which may surprise you, because it rather hidden. I went to this restaurant twice at dinner time. I’m a buffet warrior that usually go up about three or four rounds, not including dessert. Each time I came back to my table with different food to try and enjoyed for the most part. Servers are very friendly and come over often enough. Entrée wise, pretty good. There’s a large enough selection to please both adults and children. Lots of chicken and fish dishes. I don’t eat red meat for health reasons(which totally makes sense to alternatively pig out on fried crap) but they looked plentiful. There are also non-Chinese food dishes and sides, in case children need simple mac & cheese, chicken tenders, or french fries. I usually don’t go for the sushi at most Chinese buffets and unfortunately, this is another one of them. Not necessarily bad, it’s just basic super market sushi and would rather save some room for more of the good hot food. Dessert bar was kinda on the small size, but at least the variation of mini cakes and pies makes up for it. Also can’t go wrong with a soft serve ice cream machine. To sum up, I’d say this place was a surprise. My only suggestions being to add more to the dessert bar and spruce up the sushi bar as it looks rather slapped in there.

I really like this place. We try to come when its busy so the food is nice and fresh. The only thing thats bad is that you never ever see good looking people here. I never look around as to not lose my appetite. They changed names to Fortune Buffet. Dinner is about 12 $ a person.

The buffet is now called«Fortune Buffet». Although the food was subpar, I was particularly not fond of the fact that the deserts and dinners were not separated. For example, the seafood squid was located directly next to the chocolate pudding and strawberry jello. Some might find this as a fun challenge, but as an adult I was alarmed at the inappropriate food coordination and had concerns about cross contamination…

When it comes time for me to fill my face with cheap food. I go here. Usually the lunch price is just right. I start out with the clams and«sushi». Before moving on to the usual fried stuff. The selection is really good. The fried chicken and other meats are always hot. But very greasy. The rice selection comes in 2 variety. Fried and white. I always choose white because there is no need to add more fat/grease to the meal than whats already in the dishes themselves. Usually I’ll pair up the rice with the different types of chicken dishes with broccoli. Lots of broccoli. There is a habachi grill but I’ve never had the patience to wait for it. The dessert selection is large. Lots of cookies and store bought cakes. some jello and fruit. but best of all is the soft serve. I do love me some soft serve. the lunch price is good. around 7 to 8 bucks. dinner imho is not worth it.

It’s Chinese food, and as we all know, it always sounds better then it actually tastes. The food is pretty good here. We’ve been ordering from this place since we moved here 2 years ago. Like everywhere else, they’ve got things they actually specialize in. The Honey Chicken is really great, the shrimp and chinese veggies is good, beef and broccoli is fantastic, Hot and sour soup– best I’ve ever had, Egg drop soup is great!, They have the best crab rangoon ever, delicious boiled dumplings, both they send free with a takeout order over 30 $. Their eggrolls are actually pretty good, the lomaine isn’t amazing, it tastes a bit bland, but it’s fresh and that can atleast be appreciated. Overall, as far as chinese places go(we’ve been to them all locally), it’s a pretty sure place to go– we’ve done pickup every time, I highly recommend them.

Don’t judge a book by its cover! My mother-in-law brought us here for lunch. It’s an all-you-can-eat buffet kind of place. I’d never been to one before. I was a bit apprehensive when we pulled into the parking lot. The outside of this place is dismal and looks run-down. The interior isn’t much better. The food, however, was actually quite good! I’m not an adventurous eater, but everything that I got(chicken with broccoli, veggie spring rolls, and fried dough for dessert) were honestly the best of its kind I’ve ever tasted! The service, though limited to drinks, was also very polite and prompt. This place is obviously a known-by-those-who-know kind of joint. It was pretty well packed, but there was no wait.
