First time there & it was great. Good beer selection. Blue moon served with fresh orange slice. My pizza was awesome, tasted husband’s calzone… hot & delicious. My daughter got a kids pizza & applesauce which she enjoyed. Had football game on & service was quick. Our server was attentive. Great experience, I will be back!

My husband and I love Old C’s and have been frequenting this location since college. We still go quite frequently has my husband has set himself a goal of getting his pewter mug(after 10 tours) by the time he is 30. They do a great job of changing the menu so after many years I am still not sick of the food. Seems there is always a new combination to try. We have been coming long enough now that some of the wait staff feel like family. The atmosphere is always great — perfect when we were a large group of rowdy college kids there for pizza and beer and still perfect now when we bring our 6 month old daughter for a relaxing afternoon. We have always been treated very well(even before we knew so many of the staff by name). Once I forgot my leftovers on the table and they were kind enough to make me a brand new calzone when I returned for it and found the table had already been cleared. Between the coupons and the beer tour prizes I find that we rarely have to pay full price for a meal and when we do the happy hour is great — half price appetizers and $ 3 mini pizzas and the beer selection is always top notch. The mini tours offer a great way to sample some new brews and get a fun t-shirt too. I have to say sitting out on the patio on a beautiful day is my own little slice of heaven. Great way to spend an afternoon.

We had finished our meal, which was OK typical fern bar chain fare, but couldn’t find our server to get the check. I started searching the restaurant for him(I was late for work) and wandered into the kitchen. OMG! It was filthy. There was garbage piled up in bags and grease dripping off of every surface. The staff was screwing around in there. It looked like the kitchen had not been cleaned in months. We used to go to this place all of the time, but I haven’t been able to face it since I saw the kitchen! Now I am worrying about other chains and the lack of responsibility that hired managers(corporate slaves) have for their locations. The little guy restaurant owners have a greater stake in their product, and i am now avoiding all of the chains.

I love Old Chicago– the whole chain! They are one of very few chains about which I can say I’ve never had a bad meal. And that’s saying something! However…today a group of coworkers and I came to this location for lunch. We arrived around 11:50. There were 6 of us. Our drinks came out quickly(non-alcoholic, unfortunately), but we waited and waited for our entrees. By 12:30, we got a little nervous. By 12:40, we asked the waitress to box up our lunches to-go, as we wouldn’t have time to eat them and make it back to work in time for our 1 pm meeting. They came out a few minutes later, all wrapped up and ready to go. During that time, a manager(I presume) came over to say that he’d noticed we’d been waiting«a little bit.» He came back with $ 10 free coupons for each of us to make up for this experience. Our total was $ 54 and change, so effectively he was buying us all lunch. I appreciated this gesture. I was expecting to get a little bit of money knocked off our total– not the whole meal free! He and our server were very apologetic about our meals taking so long. As I’ve mentioned in other reviews, I think it’s a dick move to hold your server responsible for a slow kitchen, so we all tipped her well and left. Of course I’ll go back, I can’t stay mad at Old C’s, but this lunch trip certainly wasn’t ideal. It certainly would’ve been more tolerable if we’d been having beers… :-)

I have so much love for The Ridge as I call it, mostly because I’ve frequented many OC’s and need to identify which one I’m heading to. But back to my love affair with OC Wheat Ridge. After moving out here, this was the first place in Denver where I felt comfortable: the staff is always friendly and the regulars are fantastic. OC, no matter which one you go to, consistently has an excellent beer selection, whether you prefer bottle or on tap. OC’s food is decent, but after having had it for many years now, I prefer to go here for the company and the brews. Great people, great atmosphere. I’m a fan of The Ridge!

I like to visit this place for lunch as I work nearby but for drinks I really don’t care for it. The jukebox is comically bad, the drinks are overpriced, the staff is full of boring, and the beer selection is overrated. Yep, they have lots of beers to pick from, but most of them taste like shit.
