Long wait with reservations, poor service, average food but above average check. The only hibachi around that you can get a table at for dinner on the weekend for a reason. Would eat here again for half the price.

Unfortunately you can’t give 0 stars to write a review. The owner/manager of this establishment is an asshole. Sorry no other way to describe. My girlfriend and I went in the Saturday before Valentines Day. We asked to sit in the bar area because we wanted sushi. The manager was working on his laptop. He allowed us to sit in there but it was obvious he was irritated. He immediately asks if we have coupons. We replied yes. He said you can’t use coupons today because it’s Valentines weekend as he turned his back to us and walked away. There were maybe three other parties in the restaurant. It was dead. There were no limitations on the coupon. And finally we called the Aurora location and they said they would accept. We went there and had a great experience. This guy has no regard for the customer. Sad thing is he’s probably the owner and cannot be fired. I’m amazed it stays in business based on the other reviews. He obviously could care less.

Maybe we went on an off night, not sure. This place is usually pretty good. Went with finacee her 2 kids(in their 20’s) and my 2 kids(10, 12). My kids are smaller, so they typically like the theatrics of the chef. Ours was boring. So much so that they were watching the chef’s at the other tables and watching all the cool stuff they were doing. Ours did nothing of interest. No onion choo choo train, didn’t flip his shrimp, notta. So that was disappointing. And the food there is pretty pricey, but the rice, which is usually good was very bland. The egg yolk sauce was bland, and overall not a great experience. I will not be returning. My thought is, treat every customer like it’s their first time there. Restaurants thrive from repeat business, and I will not be returning. I would rather spend my hard earned dollar at Kabuki Grill where their food is always good. Domo is hit or miss. The bill came out to about $ 200, and I would have been OK with that if the food was half way decent.

The food at Domo is delicious. The chefs always do a great jobs entertaining guests while cooking our food. Sushi is good too but nothing spectacular. We had their calamari which was good it insanely greasy. Only reason I’m giving them 3 stars is because we had a coupon which they said they would accept. Since our grandma was treating us to dinner she paid for us and after we left and got home we saw the bill and noticed that they didn’t use the coupon! We would go back to get the difference but it was too far to go back. The food was very good and portions were large but unfortunately due to our problem with the coupon we most likely will not be returning. It seems like we were not the only ones that had this problem with Domo(read other reviews) If they don’t want to accept a coupon then they shouldn’t be offering one to begin with and shouldn’t be lying to their customers.

The prices on there website are about $ 4.00 to $ 6.00 less than the actual prices. When I approached the owner she simply stated, «those are prices from two years ago». Well genius maybe its time to change them on your website… I use to love this place but the customer service is so terrible that I will no longer spend my money there. The fact that they«use the excuse» of a language barrier to pretend the don’t understand you is so rude in itself. They understand you they just don’t care. Sorry there are a lot of restaurants who do appreciate my business. After many years of coming here. I will not return!

Food was really good. The lobster was incredible with the egg and garlic! The steak was over cooked, I guess you have to ask for rare if you want medium rare, in places that chop it up and cook it on the grill. They need to spend some money on the old interior. And keep the floor clean, it was disgusting the night I was there. Would go back for the lobster.

The coupon fighting. I’m so sick of the coupon fighting. Just went again last night and had a groupon but didn’t want to get into it so we cancelled it. It seems the parking lot is back to normal as well. Every star is because our chef and meal were fantastic. Plus, I really love the recipes here. Off a few stars because the atmosphere isn’t improving(and in fact the parking lot is crumbling again), and I’m so tired of arguing over groupons and coupons. Stop putting out the offers if you don’t want to fulfill them. Seriously. It ruins a meal to argue over the check. The meals are crazy delicious! Please work on an environment that showcases that. Sadly, I haven’t been here and seen it full in some time. I hope you survive Domo, I love your food. Really love it.

The food was good and this was my first tome at this location. Service was really slow, not the cook at our table but the waitress left us without drinks for 15 minutes. We had to go find her for our check and there were only 2 tables. I am a vegetarian, when I said no meat just a vegetable dish she kept asking, like she never heard request, no chicken? No fish? I told her id pay for chicken sub in portobello mushrooms. Funny thing is the next group to sit down had a vegetarian too and she went through the questions saying they had no vegetable dish. i realized she was just veggie shaming us(very typical) — she probably gets a Vegetarian every ten people statistically but must make it difficult. The funny thing was they charged me for a stir-fry side, i received salad, rice, and veggies(no portobellos but it was 8 dollars instead of27. So i was happy with that. It tasted great, chef was awesome and saki was good!

My boy wants to have the hibachi dinner so the family went with a groupon. It is not a super nice place but served the good food. Kids really enjoyed the show of the chef and grilled meat. For me, I liked the grilled meat and sea food. The fried rice was a bit salty for me. The soup was the same. The services were OK. We were sitting there for quite a while before the waiter brought over the water and then another while to order. I think they were understaffed. We had to wait for everything. Another thing was the smell of this place. Probably lack of sufficient ventilatio or something. I could still smell the Hibachi on my coat when I got home.

Hibachi chef was nice and food was good. Reason for the only star I’m giving. We were told to make a reservation for dinner(6 of us). So we did. And waited 45 minutes while walk ins were seated ahead of us. Inside was run down and dirty. Men’s room was disgusting. One meal was half forgotten and when the server was told, she had to check with the manager and since it was a «combo» we could have chef cook the meal at another table and eat it there or take it with. Wtf? Needless to say we won’t ever be back.

I have eaten here several times, and while the food is decent, I won’t be back! I wanted to take my family out and thought this would be fun. I read the Unilocal reviews about all the problems people had with groupon(they only accept a certain number per day, etc) and CALLEDTHERESTAURANT to confirm BEFORE I paid for the groupon that I could come in and use it that night. The woman who answered the phone said, Yes, absolutely. When we showed up an hour or so later there was a sign about coupons and we mentioned to the owner that we were using the groupon. He told us we couldn’t use it, but offered us another coupon that was useless to us. Also, we had already spent money on the groupon. My husband explained that we had JUST called and the lady on the phone said we could use it. The man didn’t care and was really, really rude, even yelling at us to leave. Seriously, why sell a groupon if you don’t intend to honor it? And what about customer service? I was really, really, embarrassed and offended that he treated us like that.

I have lived in Glen Ellyn since high school and this happened to be a family favorite for many years. Unfortunately, it seems the restaurant has changed quite a bit. Firstly, don’t look down or up. The floors are filthy, grease drips from the vents onto the hibachi pans, and the overall cleanliness is a bit shocking. Secondly, the chefs are there to entertain. One egg spin and one catch and a bowl flip don’t really cut it for me on the entertainment side. Finally, the food. The rice was soggy and was smothered in teriyaki sauce, the shrimp was burnt and the scallops my husband wouldn’t even eat– he thought they may be off. So, after coming here for 20 years I have to say I won’t be coming back EVER. It was filthy, unpleasant, and the food was less than mediocre. Sad sad sad.

I dined here on Christmas day, it was my first visit at a Domo 77. Upon entering there are 3 signs written on white copy paper and black sharpie that says No Coupons. We had a groupon for 20 off and the host said we couldnt use it, he said use this and handed us a $ 25 off coupon. We appreciated the coupon but we are still puzzled as to why the groupon was not accepted. We ordered 2 martinis, I had the raspberry martini amd it was delicious. We also ordered sushi and the rolls we had were very good. I ordered the shrimp and steak and my bf had the steak and scallops. The chef put on his little show as he cooked which wasnt impressive but the food was very good. I was happy with my entire meal amd I will try them again, I still have a groupon. :)

I went here with family that had a groupon. While the environment isn’t perfect, we really enjoyed the«show» of the food being prepared. A man, who I believe is the owner, is very nice and enthusiastic. The other staff was very nice as well. My favorite part about my meal is they offer the option of adding«french garlic»(which is like a garlic breading) to go on top of the cooked meat, I had it with chicken. My only gripe is the vegetables they sauté for the tables are a little limited in variety and are mostly onions.
