Food was terrific, but the service was terrible. Once my husband and I were seated, it took over 10 minutes for anyone to acknowledge our presence and drop off a couple of menus. It took several more to put water in our glasses. We ordered an appetizer which was awesome, but took at least 20 minutes to get a cheese tray. About 20 more then to get the salads that were part of our entrée and then about 30 more minutes to get our entrée, which, for the record was delicious. We were so irritated with the atrocious service though it was hard to really enjoy it. Several times we contemplated leaving and we are patient people. We went to a concert at the Capitol and felt we were allowing plenty of time to have our meal and get to the venue(even factoring in the fact that some other reviews mentioned slow service), but we wound up missing the opening act completely. Who would have thought it would take over an hour and a half to eat!!! It was truly the worst service I have ever had in a restaurant. Too bad because the food was truly wonderful. So, I guess my advice to anyone considering dining here would be to go if you have at least 2 hours to work with, don’t mind spending a lot and are willing to wait 30 minutes between courses. There seemed to be plenty of staff working, so I don’t understand the painfully slow service and at no time did anyone acknowledge, let alone apologize for it. Will not be back. Terribly run establishment.

Dined here for the first time last Thursday evening. The interior is light and airy and has an upscale, modern feel. More importantly, the food was delicious and beautifully presented. I enjoyed the Caesar salad and the Sesame Ahi Tuna. The salad was nice and crisp; dressed perfectly. The Tuna was cooked just right and served over soba noodles with a broth that subtly pulled all of the flavors together. Service was friendly, thorough and non-intrusive. Big shout-out to the kitchen staff: my dining partners ordered the arugula salad to share and the order was split in the back before serving. Though I live in Denver, I will be working in the Wheeling area for the next few months and can’t wait to try some of the other menu options.

I would like to write a review but I can’t because we were never given the opportunity to eat here. We were visiting Wheeling to see a show at the Capitol and I called to make reservations. I asked the girl who answered the phone what time they stopped seating people and she told me 9:30. So that’s what time I made the reservation for. We arrived early, around 8:45, and all of the employees were standing around inside but the doors were locked. They watched us try to open and the door while looking confused and they turned their backs. Wouldn’t eat here if they paid me to do so.

So it’s a cold night in Wheeling, Wv. If you are wearing flannel, i guess it’s protocol to be treated as a peasant here. Had dinner here once in the summer, food was not bad, service ok. Will not be back after tonight’s experience. Went down the street to River City, had a great dinner and a great waitress.

Decent place if your looking for a classier place to eat. Food is good but not great. Service is always slow.

Just more proof that Wheeling has no clue what good food is… My husband and I decided to try this place out, and we went on a slow early weekday evening. We were the only people there except for one guy sitting at the bar, and the server sat us on the outside patio. We waited… We waited more… We waited even more… I’m pretty sure the server forgot about us despite her having no other customers, because after a good twenty minutes she came running out there with a panicked look on her face. She took our drink orders, and we waited… waited…waited… It took another ten minutes. At this point we were finding it comical. We ordered dinner. He got the steak and I got a fish dish that I can’t remember right now because it was so forgettable. My husband’s steak was full of gristle, poorly cooked, and the beans he got as a side were practically raw. My fish had the same flavor as a piece if loose leaf paper and the potatoes tasted like a salt block. Horrid. Horrid service and embarrassingly bad food. It’s also overpriced to the point that I almost refused to pay the bill. I’ve had better at sketchy truck stops. Avoid this place at all costs. Expensive does NOT equal good.

Amazing food. Bruschetta and calamari were delicious. The steak was cooked perfectly. Chef came out to see us. Service was fantastic. Highly recommend.

I had dinner here for my birthday. We had the calamari and shrimp tempura for our appetizer. They were delicious! For entrees I had the crab cakes with risotto(fantastic) and he had the pork belly special(pork belly cooked 3 ways). I was jealous that his was so good, but i didnt want to share mine either! Great wine list. Tatsy martinis. I would go back and I highly recommend!

Very well prepared food. I had the lobster stuffed cod, a real indulgence. Rich and flavorful. Great service, cozy atmosphere(minus the loud men at the bar trying to get the lady bartender’s attention). My only wish is that the vegetable accompaniments for the main course were larger. Really it was like three bites.

I’m not sure if this restaurant is still open or not it’s been at least a year since I’ve eaten there. And there is a reason I haven’t eaten there in a year! The last time my husband and I went there for dinner they were horribly understaffed. No one greeted us at the door or showed us to a seat, once we sat down no one came over to get our order and when we walked up to the bar to get our own drinks there was no bartender working. Someone dressed all in black finally came out from the back to take our orders and rattled off some kind of special. my husband got the fettuccine Alfredo with seafood and I simply got a salad. After at least 45 minutes my husband’s meal came out, and it was just a big bowl of fettuccine with no seafood get it at all. The server was unapologetic and at that point we just wanted to leave. I can only say I hope this place has gotten better since the last time I was there but I’m not willing to give it a try again

Two couples for dinner. Around the block from the hotel. Nice service and the server, Linda, was very personable. She treated us as if we were local friends with whom she had worked before. Friendly and accommodating. Food was OK. What we ordered was good, proportions fine and cooked nicely. I mean OK like A-OK. Menu had a lot of choices and one of us remarked that anyone would be satisfied at finding something that they would like. Drinks were full-bar made and excellent. I had ordered a gin martini, got it bit with blue cheese stuffed olives. To many that is a treat, but to me, blue cheese is yucky. It was no big deal as Linda took it back and replaced it. What we also appreciated was that there was no rush to clear the table. People sat chatting and drinking long after their meals were done. Very cosy.

Very good food, I eat here for lunch quite often. I really like the balsamic grilled steak penne and the gourmet pizzas(which are quite large). The servers are very nice and they are receptive to pick-up orders as well. Parking is easy to find, there are always metered spots open a block east on Eoff St. Dinner prices are definitely set at «fine dining» but lunch is very affordable. The quality of food you receive is excellent and the portion sizes are just right.

So… A great dining experience in wheeling. Great meals for both of us. Very nice service. Tasty wine list. Sure it is a bit spendy for this town, But worth the price. Nice to see a place that does so well with a smaller menu… Pick a few things and do them well… They did. We ordered menu items and specials. First class!

Such a shame, Good food, TERRIBLYRUN! I’ll try and be brief… I asked the server to wait till my guest arrived before bringing out my steak. Well while I’m finishing my salad, out it comes only to be sent back by my server. The chef didn’t care and sent it back out to me. Again it was sent back only to have the chef have it sit under a heat lamp for 45 min. My guest arrived and ordered, before her salad came out there was that steak again! Nice and dry, over cooked and not hot. What was a med rare steak was now mid-well to well done. I was told I had to eat it then an I wasn’t getting another one. I was told I had to pay for it or my server had to pay for it. When asked to speak to the manager, I was told there wasn’t one and the chef was the owner. He refused to come talk to me(even though he had 2 sous chefs) and the waitress told me she’d rather not repeat what he said about me. This really happen folks, I didn’t exaggerate one bit. This chef/owner is an asshole and has no business running a restaurant. Pathetic

This is a great addition to wheeling. Sadly it’s not that busy because the people in wheeling don’t have enough money or have never enjoyed a high class restaurant. The chef really knows his stuff. Great place.
