I live in Wheeling and had to stay here once because we got stuck in downtown after work during a snow storm. This place looks nice when you walk into the lobby, but the rest of the hotel is a dump. It smelled like old cigarettes on the non smoking floor. My room didn’t have a fridge, but the room next to me i also paid for did. There were a lot of cracks in the walls. The knob on the thermostat was missing, so it was blasting heat when we walked in and the only thing that I could do is turn it off. The furniture had a lot of signs of wear. If I had a black light I would have probably fainted.

I had to spend a few nights here because this is where my Boss booked it. It was a nice hotel and the staff was great. If i have to come back to wheeling for a visit again, believe me, i will be back at the McLure. People that are expecting the Hilton for the money that they pay for the McLure, should just go to the Hilton. Some people you can never please.

Stayed one night it’s out dated rundown hotel with a smidge and just an iota of charm. The hotel in general has a musty dirtiness about it. The elevators are horrifying I feel as if I’m going to fall at any moment. Onto the room, overall eh dark color, no lighting just lamps, dirty shower heads, exposed piping poorly painted walls, commercial toilet like at a public restroom, just overall gross. The restaurant in the hotel is sub par at best. But the lesson out of this is you get what you pay for you want cheap you get cheap. I hope they remodel it or tear it down.

Stayed in the McClure hotel last night. We will not be coming back. The entire hotel smelt old and like smoke. The hotels AC was struggling very hard, and when I asked for a different room, I was told«we are aware of the AC issues, there’s nothing we can do. Try opening a window.» It was 81 degrees outside. The carpets had burns in them, the covers and sheets were old and scratchy. The towels were old, stained and scratchy. The room had no modern amenities or plugs. It was just… Old and run down. The wifi was not useable because it was so slow. Just wanted to get the truth out there for anyone looking to stay here. BEWARE!

Very out dated hotel. Clean enough, but a little musty. The hotel cleaning staff was very nice but the front desk staff had an attitude and was Playing on her phone. I wouldn’t recommend staying here unless you didn’t have many options. Luckily my work is paying for the stay.

We stayed at the McLure hotel while in town for a wedding. We had been warned by our friends that the hotel was a little outdated, but that is quite an understatement. This hotel is where dreams go to die. The sheets looked dirty, the furnishing looked shabby, but even if I could get passed that, the customer service that me and my friends experienced was awful. When we checked out on a Sunday, they ran our credit cards before giving visibility into the final cost of the stay. When I looked at the receipt they had overcharged by $ 60. They did this for EACH of the people in the wedding block. When we pointed it out they said that this couldn’t be corrected until the manager was in on Monday because she would need to credit us back the difference. I have been calling multiple times a day for the last few days trying to get in touch with said«Manager» and each time she/he is either not there or in «a meeting.» I am assured that the manager will call me back, but as of right now– no call back. It is the same for everyone else that was overcharged. I can only assume it’s because they don’t want to honor the amount that THEY quoted us. Super Shady and very bad business.

No pool. Bathtub was dirty. Mediocre accommodations. Just because it is the oldest operating hotel in VW(according to them), doesn’t mean it is the nicest.
