Let me start by saying this was a $ 20 lunch for two, so I was absolutely not expecting anything but quick and passable. Sadly, even that did not happen. Upon arriving, the delivery guy rang the bell, and literally two seconds later actually OPENEDMYDOOR and just walked in. When I(as I was heading down the stairs to answer the doorbell) pointed out that that was unacceptable, he actually laughed. Both appetizers were abysmal failures. My roast pork egg roll had not ONE single scrap of pork. It was 100 percent wet limp cabbage in an oily yet still not crisp wrapper. My friends Shanghai spring roll(at a far higher cost) was half the size yet exactly the same inside. More limp greasy cabbage. The oil itself tasted very stale and in desperate need of changing. As for the lunches, I had Kung Bao chicken. To be honest, there was a large amount of chicken, for both container size and price, and a decent assortment of vegetables. That said, the chicken was tough, stringy and dry. Giving me a lot of something too unpleasant to eat is not doing me any kind of favor. I ate the veggies and the rice. The sauce was too thin to coat anything and pooled greasily on the bottom, so my Kung Bao chicken became a quarter lunch portion of vegetables in a very small amount of thin brown sauce. My friend had the Mei Fun. To be fair, while it was not remarkable, it was edible. Did not have a lot of flavor — could definitely have used a LOT more curry flavor — but it was edible and really, for the $ 7 it cost, exactly what was expected. As for the beverages, they made a substitution(we did not agree to it, nor were we asked, despite them CLEARLY having our phone number, as it was on the receipt). Instead of the 2 liter Coke we ordered, we got a 2 liter 7-Up, which neither of us cared for, so we wound up without a beverage. Had they called us — as they should have, since they took our money for a product they did not deliver — we could have agreed on a different substitution we would have been ok with. Them choosing for us — and the fact we wound up with an unwanted, unconsumed and useless beverage — was very off putting. So of four items ordered, one was passable. Our drinks were completely wrong. As I said, this was meant to be a cheap easy lunch, and I was not expecting anything above the level of what McDonald’s would be to Chinese food. I got one somewhat edible dish, a case of extreme thirst, and a trespassing delivery guy who thought it was amusing to just walk into my home. It was a $ 20 experiment, and I am certainly not crying about it. As said, my expectations were low. I just thought everyone should know just how many things were wrong, as it really was probably the worst delivery experience I have ever had the misfortune of encountering. I would not waste $ 2 on meal for four from here. ABSOLUTELY positively NOT recommended.

If you are desperate and have to order from here, have them deliver. The place is so dirty and disgusting you will lose your appitite. Last time i was there they had chicken wings in a dirty milk crate uncovered and on the filthy floor.

The worst!!! No redeeming qualities other than they delivered quickly. I guess they aren’t too busy, with good reason.

This is a take out place. Crummmmeee. Filthy. Dust, dirt, grime, furniture from Gawd knows when, nasty. Is the food good, I got it home and it was barely average. If the front of the house is so grimy, well, never again. So much better around.

My friends and I just ordered delivery online from this place. I ordered broccoli but instead received something with chicken. I can’t eat it because I’m a vegetarian. I called the place and not only did I not get an apology, they said they could«credit» the order for«next time» or send the correct food in about half an hour. I told them this was unacceptable because half an hour is too long for a place that’s less than a mile away and messed up my order and there would be no next time. Instead of trying to find an actual solution, the guy started yelling and eventually hung up or put us on hold. This is an average, cheap Chinese joint in white plains. There are plenty of others just like this one, so you would think they would care a little more about customer service. Apparently they don’t.

I believe this restaurant has either changed owners or changed what foods to offer. They now have Vietnamese dishes that are quite good. Ordered takeout recently with Grubhub, and was pleasantly surprised. Bun Tom Cari was very good. A little spicy, but not too hot. Ga Xa Gung in aromatic and delicate. Ga Nuong Xa good, but a tad dry. Delivery was on time. No issues with order details. All in all, very good. Definitely ordering from here again.

Chinese Take-Outs are a dime a dozen. What makes Hong Kong Chef a little better than the rest here is that the portions are generous. My lunch special(in the photo) included: * Orange Chicken with Brown Rice * Spring Roll * Wonton Soup * Chow-Mein Noodles. * Yi-Pen Hot, Soy & Duck Sauces. All of that is $ 5.25. You can alternate either soup or a soda. A tasty bargain with speedy delivery even during the height of lunch hours. It’s an office favorite here. I eat it because it’s good.
