Woman behind the counter needs anger management. My wife ordered 2 lunch meals on Saturday. Gave us shrimp instead of chicken and missing an eggroll. Went all the way back, she said that’s what I ordered even though she has a shellfish allergy and wanted 1.50 for a new eggroll. when I wouldn’t give in she gave up with a «whatever» face unappologetically and began bagging orders angrily while occasionally mumbling something angrily in chinese. the food is already usually bland there. I was only going out of convenience but I won’t even do it for that anymore. the cook was cool though and seemed nice. was glad to see other reviews calling her out on her rudeness so I know it isn’t just me.

Waited for the«B» rating to change before returning. Person behind the counter had a bad attitude. Is it «MY» fault your credit card machine is not working, whereas everyone else was working on that day… why the hell should I tell you when I placed the order, shouldn’t you be letting the customer know. Let the food behind, I hope they enjoyed it and didn’t re-plate it for someone else. This is one of the only stores where you have to ask for the freebie when all others do it automatically. WHYBOTHER ??? Food was only fair and you shouldn’t be in business with such poor business skills.

If I could leave 0 stars, I would. My first time here and my last. I got my food to go, eating it at home and found a roach in my food. Avoid at all costs. Still trying to mentally get over this.

Green garden has been my Go to Chinese takeout place for years. The food is great and decently priced for the amount of food you get in your order. Their delivery time is unbeatable, so quick! Never disappointed with Green Garden!

This place is solid. If you’re in the mood for Chinese takeout, this place won’t disappoint but it won’t blow you away either. Food is hot and fresh when delivered and they accept credit cards, delivery is quick. Their fried rice is a little better than your average takeout spot but overall nothing really stands out. This is good but basic Chinese.

Hahahaha some people seem really upset by the B rating this place has. Yet they’ll probably go eat street cart food the next day without issue. I don’t know if it still has the B and it doesn’t surprise me or bother me too much, because some of the best-tasting places(and some of the seemingly cleanest) in Whitestone have B’s(cherry valley had a C or a B for a while if I’m not mistaken. McDonald’s has a C right now actually, and nonna’s next door has a B. This place has an actually pending letter grade at the moment so we can’t even say for sure that it’s still B. I guess we’ll C about that) This leads into the fact, you know, that this is takeout Chinese. We gotta understand this here. I don’t think Jennifer in the other review understood this, she seemed a little more caught up on treating it like some actual restaurant. Of course it gets 1 star for that. Burger King deserves 1 star as well if you’re trying to eat authentic diner food or something like that. Sorta interesting how every bad review had to mention the B rating. Perhaps these reviews all came in from people expecting something they shouldn’t have been? My stance on takeout Chinese is that it doesn’t have to taste high quality or fresh or something like that. No Chinese takeout spot will ever have that. Green garden makes the most of what it has, though. Every selection from beef on a stick to egg rolls to the wontons to the fried dumplings to the chicken and vegetables are all my favorites out of any place around here, so that’s why it’s getting a 5 from me. (I think kings chef has better boneless spare ribs but whadyagonnado) (PS Unilocal says this place«is a must» when in flushing. As much as I love it, it’s not really a must if you’re visiting the area. Flushing has a hundred other places you can go to and sit down and enjoy more«authentic» food)

I love this place! This is by far the best Chinese takeout restaurant! Very polite staff and their food is always on point! I don’t live in this neighborhood, but whenever I visit, this is the only Chinese restaurant I go for. You will not be disappointed! I recommend their egg rolls and their General Tso’s chicken. Their cheese wontons are phenomenal!

Omg this place is a joke! The place has a B-rating for a reason. They restaraunt looks so disguising and they had no customers, so that always a bad sign. They were cooking but I beat it’s all deliveries, so the customers have no idea how they cook their food. So hesitantly I ordered a just simple rice dish. As I was sitting in the restaraunt, I was watching them cook in the kitchen. What I saw was just wrong. The lady in the front was cooking a beef dish. She put raw beef on a cutting board and then she put some vegetable on that same board. This was just plain wrong. Then she put chicken on that SAME cutting board. I mean as any good cook knows you don’t use the same cutting board for chicken, beef and vegetables. I think she and everyone their needs to go to ikea to get another cutting board or at least turn it over to use the other side for vegetables. The name of the restaraunt should change from Green Garden to Green Garbage. Because that what the food smells like. After not even five minutes leaving this«restaraunt», the food that I ordered smelled so bad. I had to just toss in the garbage. If you need Chinese food, please do yourself a favor and order from somewhere else. They are probably five other Chinese restaraunt that are much better and where there are people that know how to make good Chinese food!

Horrible place… rude cashier! Poor food, dirty kitchen. Menu brags A rating. .place has a B rating(not surprised) worker handled money then food without washing. There are soo many better, nicer, cleaner places in the area to go to. Only reason we tried here(has bad rep in the neighborhood) was because we were in store next door. We should of gone down the street. Instead we wound up with poor food and poor service Never again

After reading the Unilocal reviews for this restaurant that raved about everything they make being«fantastic», it’s «my favorite Chinese restaurant», and«egg roll and dumpling are on the point,» I had to experience what I was missing. So I drove out of my way to get a taste of «the best Chinese restaurant in the area.» The first thing you notice when waking in is the“B” grade hanging in the window from the NYC Department of Health. Not quite as inviting as an «A», but the reviews were fantastic! I ordered a beef and green bean combination(fried rice and egg roll) and some wonton soup. The egg roll tasted like a commercial brand(like Amoy); it had very little other«stuff» in it besides chopped cabbage. It was small, but not greasy. The wonton soup had a murky yellow tinge to it and was absolutely tasteless; salty and non-descript. An oil slick(see photo) formed on the surface that looked disgusting. There we’re few pieces of scallion in the broth as well as a few(and I mean few) pieces of pork. The wontons were soft and«doughy» in the center and filled with a few pieces of ground pork(not shredded or chunks.). Some of the wontons were hard in spots. The fried rice was the all-too-common yellow rice with some bean sprouts and a few cubes of pork. The kind of fried rice that is served in most ordinary, uninspiring Chinese take-outs. The beef had been soaked in a corn starch bath to give it the illusion that it is softer than it really is. What your left with in your mouth is the texture of slimy beef. The green beans were OK(which is what saved this review from being terrible.) So many better choices!

My favorite Chinese food place! I can’t believe it has no reviews yet. I moved way out of the neighborhood a few years ago, but when I can get a ride I make a point to get my Chinese food from here. To be honest, I just stopped eating it altogether after the disappointing selection of places Elmhurst has to offer. The egg rolls, lo mein, wonton soup, General Tso’s– all your staples are here and they’re awesome. Service is super friendly. The only issue I sometimes have is that their General Tso’s can come a little light on the sauce, but the texture is absolutely perfect. Sometimes that dish can come out gamey and tough, but not here.
