Food good but service horrible. Waitress was polite, but VERY slow and forgetful. It wasn’t busy at all so there was no reason for it.

Never had a problem with this restaurant. I have gotten multiple items on the menu and have never been disappointed. Prices are reasonable and food tastes very well. It has a big parking lot and seating never seems to be an issue.

If I could give it zero stars, I would. Nothing wrong with the food, average American fare, nothing special. The problem is I can no longer trust them with my money. Let me recount what happened to my family. This happened maybe two years ago but I am a new-ish Unilocaler. We had a large party stop at Jamie’s for a bite after a family event. We’d been going there for years. Probably 10 – 12 of us. Lots of alcoholic beverages, bottles of wine, and food, a sizable bill, and we tip very generously. When we settled the bill, the majority of it was cash, with what was left over placed on a credit card. All processed, signed, we left, perfectly happy. Cue the next day when police officers show up at my aunt’s house where just the teenaged kids were home. They were looking for my aunt and stated that Jamie’s had reported that she walked out on the bill, since it was her credit card that was used. They then spoke to my aunt on the phone, who had to leave work and go home to comfort her scared kids who thought she was arrested and to talk to the police officers. She showed him her receipts proving she had paid and the restaurant had processed it. The officers then wanted to talk to various other family members. They then reported it back to the restaurant who stuck by their story. My aunt then had to go down to the police station. Finally, the restaurant calls and says that their waitress and her boyfriend had pocketed all the cash, tried to destroy the credit card record, and said we bailed on the bill. Basically they caused my family a lot of stress over their own dishonest employee. You’d think after doing all that to fairly regular customers, they’d want to make it right. Nope. No offer to comp the meal, no offer of a gift card, not even an apology. We aren’t even sure if they fired the the waitress or not. We refuse to patronize that business ever again after the way we were treated. All it would have taken was a genuine apology, but they couldn’t even be bothered for that. A bummer, since my grandpa was fond of the place and since he’d passed, we’d eat there just to remember him. I say eat elsewhere, since the food is nothing special. If you do eat here, watch your money. Don’t pay cash. Save the proof you paid. Buyer beware.

Food is awful… I go in just to see Cory… and the football squares. Bartenders always very cordial

Three times in the last two months the bartenders have seated their regulars ahead of us. They have always confirmed with us that the next available two seats will be ours. Then a couple of their regulars walk in and they are given the seats. We tip very well, never complain and we’re still treated this way. We won’t be patronizing any of the Jamie’s again.

My husband and I went here a few years ago for the Sunday breakfast Buffett and it was pretty good. This past Sunday was awful. The only thing I tried that was ok was the scrambled eggs. Dry/cold hash browns, dry waffles, French toast sticks that taste nothing like French toast, thin unflavored bacon, and undercooked/soggy eggs Benedict. I kept trying to find something I could eat and just kept striking out. Then we got the bill… Yah $ 33. That was an expensive lesson. We typically go to a local restaurant who’s breakfast is actual food and it has never cost more than $ 21 for two.

I have always loved the food from Jamie’s. I used to go to the Braintree location, but since moving back to Whitman We have been here several times. I love the food, but the service is always aweful. We wait a long time to be seated even when they are not busy. The food takes forever to come out. It is especially annoying when you have a young child whirh you who is screaming for their dinner. We will probably continue to get take out from them just because we love the food, but most likely will not be dining in Any time soon.

I have heard this place may be going out of business and a new place is coming in. If this is the case its the best news to come out of this restaurant so far. I have been here twice and it was awful, that was about 6 years ago and a swore to never go back.

Fool me twice, shame on me. If it were possible to give negative stars, that would probably be more appropriate. I used to go to the Jamie’s in Braintree all the time both sit down and take out and loved the food, prices, and service. After moving I wanted to give the Whitman location a try. The first time I went here I sat down and order the steak tips. «Medium rare» tips came out as charcoal, but seemed like even if the done-ness had been gotten right, the taste would have still made it a horrible experience. A few years later in a bind my wife and I decide to order take out on the way home. We ordered a half hour in advance of when we would be there and were told it would be a 25 minute wait on the food. This would be perfect as we’ve learned stopping the car for more than 5 minutes will wake our infant up in a rage. After we arrived, my wife went inside and the minutes went by. A half hour later(an hour since we ordered) she finally came out with two mismatched plastic bags of take out and took over trying to soothe a now red in the face baby. I made sure the order was complete and headed home. I opened up my Alamo Chicken Sandwich to find two full chicken breasts spilling out of two soggy halves of Texas toast. The taste was still alright, despite being soggy and impossible to hold in my hands. Oh, the french fries were also soggy. My wife’s Greek salad came covered in onions and black olives, which she requested be left off. Hidden under a later of feta was old, soggy, brown lettuce she threw out. She went with feta on pita for dinner. Two awful experiences, but I guess the second one is my fault, right? I figured if I saw my own review on Unilocal in another couple years, that would keep me away from making another mistake! Never again!!!

Easter brunch was great. I’ll have to try the Jamie’s closer to home for their regular menu.

Great dinner and service. We ordered a seafood special and scallops from the regular dinner menu. Delish! The French onion soup appetizer was also wonderful. Nice, homey atmosphere. Would not hesitate to return for a tasty broiled seafood dinner. Thanks for the nice evening.

I’ve been going here for years now and I honestly don’t know why. They are cheap so there’s that but that’s basically it. The service is usually good too. The food is pretty terrible. Haven’t really had anything good, I’ve tried a good amount of it too. If you are looking for a good place to get dinner just keep driving.

Ordered take out. Jamie’s own employee asked what two sides my wife would like with her meal. When I arrived to pick up our orders, a manager type advised that their employee was incorrect and the meal only came with one side. Fine-I think the better customer service oriented response would have been to explain that and leave the 4 – 5 little broccoli crowns with her $ 16 meal, but what can you do. While I cannot put my finger on it, the mashed potatoes that came with my meal were used with either bad potatoes or sour milk… there was a smell/taste coming from them that I have never tasted in fresh mashed potatoes before. It is unfortunate, because we have previously had somewhat decent experiences with Jamie’s as long as we have stuck with typical bar food-i.e. burgers/fries/sandwiches…will think again before going there again.

Good Food, Nice Place, fair prices. It is what it is, a neighborhood pub, but the menu is extensive. Try it

We went on a Friday night at around 7:00 and didn’t get our entrees until 8:00. The server apologized several times for the kitchen being backed up. The food was all pretty good but not outstanding. We had buffalo chicken tenders for app and turkey dinner, calzone, and fried seafood platter between the three of us. The drinks took a long time and the margaritas were very small.

We’ve been here quite a few times now. We usually stop in on Saturday nights, and the bartenders are incredibly entertaining and efficient. We’ve tried the table service, which we weren’t incredibly impressed with, so I think we’ll stick to the bar. The food is good, the atmosphere is fun. Great place!

usually i lurk, not post but today’s experience was more than unique. im not sure what was worse. live ant on table, dead bugs on windowsil, flavorless overcooked meal, or the waitress that couldn’t seem to remember to check on or acknowledge us despite the place being a ghost town. price might have been comparable but next time i will head further down 18 to mcdonald’s

I’ve always heard that this place wasn’t good but i gave it the benefit of the doubt and tried it. The prices are’nt bad but unfortunately for this place the food is not good. I went with a group of 6 for lunch and it was surprisingly busy. We waited almost 30 minutes and even longer for our meals. It seemed like the wait was due to a combination of our waitress along with the kitchen. Between the six of us we had the turkey dinner, the chicken pot pie, the hot dog, the fried chicken and the seafood medley. While non of the food was terrible non of it was great. It was just ok /a little less than mediocre. We have all had similiar meals at other local establishments like the Abington Ale House and The Charlie Horse in BW, and while their food is a little more expensive, it is definitely much better and worth the few bucks. We definitely wouldn’t return here. The quality is just not there. We don’t eat out often as i’m sure many families don’t and we want to have a great, and at least good meal when we go out. We unfortunately didn’t get that here.
