Bomb food!!! I love this place me and my husband go here anytime we go for Chinese all foods good had great flavor chow mein is sometimes old but there constantly replacing it so it can’t get old too fast which is nice. Smoothies, n milkshakes are original n tastey. Yes made to order sushi is good too… But if u want quality tasting sushi go to an expensive sushi joint duhhhh… so u get what u pay for but its good when u got a craving for sushi…

This place has been on my radar since it opened because of how close it is to me. Went today and got 2 combination plates and a spicy tuna roll. The rice was dry and old, the chicken was just over all bad. The tuna roll was made to order and when we got home to try it we could not hold down one piece. Overall the place was a huge disappointment.

Chow mein and rice were the worst we’ve ever tasted, orange chicken was mushy and bland. Out of the 3 combos ordered we only ate the beef and broccoli.

Highly disappointed because the 5 times before going here was awesome(big portions, free boba) and now itty bitty portions and no free boba. I also noticed the food wasn’t as fresh and they have a «B». I really wanted to love this place.

Hubby and I ate here last night. Great customer service, good prices and the food was good too. The fried rice was a little dried out, but flavor was good.

Average Chinese fast food. Nothing special. Their Boba is great and scared to try their sushi as I only trust sushi bars to have the best sushi. Unfortunately this is the only option in this area in regards to fast food Chinese but I’d keep driving if you’re in no rush or have a crazy craving for Chinese food.

Had a China bowl = pork chicken beef broccoli on rice Too much fat on the chicken pork over done as well as the broccoli(should have never been served) Also I was charged $ 1.50 for Arizona green tea when the can was marked 99 cents! I don’t think am that is legal. Not going back.

Hey If i can eat local Id rather support the local merchants. But a big warning sign of «BAD Food Ahead». Would the the mixing of cuisine. I should have god-damned known that sushi and Chinese fast food dont mix. Was going for a fast single item bowl but OMG all the items look stale and old. Figured hey give the sushi a try. How hard can you screw up California roll? Apparently you do that with cold mushy sushi rice and stale hard ingredients. Well, I’ll just wait for this place to go under and anxious to see the next owner to open up.

Cool little spot. Curry chicken was good and guy taking orders was nice and explained the meals to me. Didn’t try the boba drinks but since this is close to my house I will be coming back to try them and the sushi!

wish I can put no stars! DONOT recommend coming to this Chinese food joint. Even if you want a quick meal. The food is awful. I ordered the one item combo and the orange chicken had no flavor. Food was sitting there for awhile and no customers in there at dinner time

Good food, it’s a typical fast food Chinese restaurant. Great drink choices for boba milk teas, coffee, and smoothies.

This is your average Chinese fast food. Typical 1&2 item combos, tasty enough to satisfy a craving. Do not expect Chinese restaurant style food, remember this is quick and convenient. Prices are very affordable, they also offer milk teas and boba drinks. The employees are very friendly and the restaurant is nicely decorated and clean. I like being able to support small business coming into the area.

You could tell that running a restaurant is new to them. But I will give them time to get it together. The food is cool… orange chicken is crunchy and I love it! And I usually dislike orange chicken. The teriyaki chicken looks old sitting in the pan but when they serve it, it looks decent. I’m going to come here Thursday.

Opened over a week ago in the small plaza on La Mirada/Mulberry in Whittier is a fast food chinese restaurant(formerly a donut shop) in the corner next to the liquor store. I drove by it often waiting to see it finished so I could try them out since usually I will go to Panda/Wok Express or other spots nearby my area, so you can imagine my excitement much like Jon B living so close to this place. So on a Saturday drive I ended up seeing the big sign on the building saying«GRANDOPENING» and so I decided to pull in and see what the full was all about. as I was ready to walk in I also had noticed a small advertisement for being new saying«buy any 2 item entrée and get free thai tea».well that can be such a nice gesture to welcome themselves to this community, well. I was wrong about that and Ill explain later. As I entered the empty restaurant, there seems to be a mother/son team that work together. Food is your basic run of the mill chinese food from orange chicken(spicy too)/bbq pork/beef&broc/etc. Nothing too fancy to set itself apart from other places but it wouldve been nice that the meals in the trays were labeled on the glass to identify what was what other than just being listed on the menu with no pictures. I proceeded to order two 2 item combos. one being the two orange chickens and ordered another bbq pork/orange combo and proceeded to check out. Once I was given the bill I asked them for the«free» thai tea that was listed outside and the gentleman said«that was for only one day when we opened».I questioned it in my mind that you have a grand opening and advertise something that was only good for one day, then maybe you should remove the banner so you dont give people the impression something is free when it isnt. Anyways got home and tried it out. and I cant say Im impressed or blown away by what they offered, not to mention everything didnt seem to have any spice or flavor to break itself apart, like the chicken except the spicy one which just had peppers thrown into the mix. The bbq pork was absolutely terrible and was chewy and bland and I would NOT recommend reheating this stuff for the next day as it loses much of whatever flavor or sauce it originally had the first time. The only good thing about the food is that the portion sizes for the chicken are huge and and I mean BIG. I could say I got more chicken ratio than Ive ever had at Panda and those guys sure love to screw you over on portions for the price you pay. They also do bobas and shakes but I didnt bother to try as I was only there for the food aspect. They also have sushi but apparently its not ready yet(why list something you dont even have ready to sell?) Like Jon B said, I will give them one more try in 30 days and if they dont change it up and make an effort to do better or Ill just stick to what I like and know and avoid this place all together. I wouldn’t be surprised if this place survives past 6 months to a year if this pattern continues.

I had such high hopes for this brand new restaurant nestled within 100 yards from my house. Sadly, my first experience has been extremely disappointing. We came at approximately 3:30 on Sunday afternoon, and upon review of the steam table it appears they have not been busy. The food had that opaque film on it that shows its been sitting untouched for a fair amount of time. The choices are your standard fast food Chinese fare. We sampled the orange chicken and I was already concerned for what was to come. Changing from a very large order(my family generally orders so that we have leftovers for a couple lunches in the days following) to a smaller sampling was certainly a wise move in hindsight. We got a small order of orange chicken, broccoli beef, sweet and sour chicken, and chow mein, and got a Thai iced tea to drink. We did take it home, but again, we literally live 100 yards from this place, so it’s not like the quality of the food may have changed during travel. The orange chicken was mushy, and somewhat bland, and not very saucy. The sweet and sour was also mushy, but the flavor was present… I was thankful for that. The broccoli beef was decent; nothing to get super excited about, but of our 3 proteins, it was the best. The chow mein… not good at all. Very bland, and my wife and eldest daughter actually did not swallow their bites. They claimed a stale taste, although I’m not sure how chow mein gets stale… to me it was very flavor free, and incredibly disappointing. The consensus between myself and my wife were that it tasted like frozen entrees that had been heated up and placed on the steam table. Overall, this was a very disappointing experience. The inside of the restaurant is nice… they cleaned it up well from what was the old donut shop. However, the heat inside the place was unbearable if you were to choose dining in. It was over 100 outside today, so I try to be a little graceful, but I feel bad for their employees to work in that. The gal was very friendly, the gentleman helping us was kind but not exactly mr personality. The one huge success on this trip was the Thai iced tea. That was actually very good, and we wouldn’t hesitate to order it again. China Wok Express is on a one month probation with us; we will return in about a month to try it again as I feel it’s not fair to black list a restaurant on one visit. Perhaps that will let them find their groove and maybe sway our opinion. Until then, we will continue to visit our favorite Chinese spot in La Habra… which is a 20 minute drive away.

It just opened like 3 days ago and are still working some things out. Clean and service is friendly. The food isn’t bad, but I’m not in a hurry to come back based on flavors and choices. I decided to try my favorites and was not pleasantly surprised but neither too disappointed. It was just about what I expected. This place, for now, is your average fast food Chinese restaurant and would be a viable option to grab something quick to eat. They have things to look forward to in the near future though, such as sushi options.

Nice, clean Chinese fast food that just opened in South Whittier. Simple menu including 1-, 2-, and 3-item combos, egg rolls, slushes and smoothies. Sushi is also on the menu, but was not available just yet. Had the taro smoothie with boba, a 1-item combo and some orange chicken. All really good. Fast and nice service. Will be coming back for more.
