Sushi here is good. Be weary, it’s standard at best, and VERY expensive. I have paid $ 60 to sushi places elsewhere and walked out so full I could have not eaten for an entire 24 hours. Here, it was… well…it left something to be desired. It was packed, but it was a weekend. I waited 40 minutes for two rolls. I dunno, might not be back anytime soon.

This place is great. Everyone is very friendly and the sushi is always great. They give large portions and the fish is always fresh. Plenty of parking and great location as well.

Horrible experience! The Chef was screaming at the waitress infront of everyone! Horrible customer service! The chef completely made a full of us after we requested our food spicy he added chunks of habanero to our food, all of it!!! After I complained he laughed as if it was a joke. Food is over priced and not worth it!!!

3.5. Very friendly. In fact, I’d say they were almost TOO welcoming, as they allowed this annoying couple to walk in five minutes before closing and order food for dine-in, even after they were kindly told that last call for the kitchen was already done. Having worked at restaurants all through college, I can only imagine how annoyed they actually were. I almost wanted to tell that couple to beat it(MJ style), but didn’t want them to take it out on this place on social media. Lots of interesting rolls aside from«the usuals». They were definitely hit or miss, but they all had fairly generous portions and decent quality fish. For people who don’t like rolls, they’ve got a pretty broad menu of other things as well. Good value. Between the two of us, we ordered $ 40 worth of food and we were absolutely stuffed. We had to force down the last few pieces. Not the most authentic nor delicious sushi experience, but not a bad spot if you’re the kind of person who wants an upgrade from chains like Kabuki but finds«real» sushi too intimidating.

Great sushi! I really like the teriyaki beef bento box with the crunch roll. The Miso soup is very delicious also. Good vibe, good music and awesome service! I highly recommend Joy Sushi and will return when I’m in Whittier.

Tried a couple of things here. Their menu has different items, not just sushi. The B.C.F. Roll is delicious, and so is the Godzilla roll. Tried a couple simpler ones that were good also. I’m giving it 3 stars because I was highly disappointed with their«ramen.» I ordered the spicy ramen soup and it was literally a .50¢ Maruchan noodle bag that they cooked and mixed with vegetables. I used to eat them so I know what they taste like lol. In that case I could’ve made that at home. It was a busy Friday night so the service was okay. The place gets full so be ready to make a wait.

I «enjoy» joy sushi during the day, however the night hospitality was a bit rushy… they made last call before 8:30, then denied my order at 8:33… food was good though.. maybe I’ll just come during the day instead … bummer

I’ve been to Joy Sushi several times and have only found it to be mediocre. Most recently I stopped in and had the Caterpillar Roll and Spider Roll. The Caterpillar Roll had only a very small amount of eel, with the roll mostly comprised of imitation crab and avocado. The Spider Roll was a little greasy and the roll was cut too thin, making it difficult to eat. The tempura I had had in the past also tends to be on the greasy side. On the plus side, the wait staff is very friendly and service is good.

Super service like no other sushi place we have gone to. We go very pay check I get to treat my sweetheart. His favorites roll is the BCR. We have even ordered take out and it’s just as perfect and when we dine in. I would suggest this place to anyone and everyone who love excellent sushi with perfect service.

If your craving sushi and near Whitwood, this is a good choice. Happy Hour options reasonably priced. Overall sushi prices fair. Quality of sushi is good especially for the price. Inside there’s TV depending on where you sit. Sushi counter. Mellow low key vibe. Allot families or small groups. Never too crowded but hardly ever empty in the evenings.

Look for Brad Pitt and JASON! My family and friends had an awesome lunch here thanks to both of them. The food was excellent and innovative. I really enjoyed their food and service. Sushi was so fresh that it melted the moment I put them in my mouth. The sauce was not salty at all, so I was able to enjoy it as much as I wanted. I know I will be back here for more.

Frequent customers. My boyfriend has been coming here long before I came along, the guys call him by name every time we walk into the restaurant. We always have the best food and time when we eat and drink here. I recommend eating at the bar if your a small 1 – 4 party and a table for anything over that. The ambiance is casual and clean inside and outside. In just a short few months I’d like to say I’ve ordered or sampled(from someone else) about 80% of their menu, but I can’t say that because Brad Pitt & his 2 sidekicks are always switching it up with specials of the day. Have no fear & order what you like believe me you won’t be disappointed, I’ve never been.

Last night was my first time at Joy Sushi and I had a fabulous experience! The sushi was fresh, well prepared, and extremely delicious! What set this place apart from most sushi joints I’ve frequented is the superb service! We sat at the sushi bar and«Brad Pitt» was absolutely endearing, hospitable, and extremely hilarious! My bf and I both really enjoy our food on the spicier side and Mr. Pitt was quick to whip up a special roll with a spicy kick for us right away! He was also very accommodating as he changed the channel to the kings game when I asked if it was possible to do so! Both my bf and I had a great time! Thank you Brad Pitt for your fantastic service and delicious sushi! We will definitely be back!
