Good but the smoke is annoying and some of the people that wander around sketch me out

I just have a soft spot in my heart for Mimo’s! Can’t remember the first time I ate here, I was so small. It’s great to just stop and regroup whether with others or solo. I usually get the carne asada burrito. Another great choice is their chai latte. I’ve had the Santa Fe Chicken sandwich which was okay, but I’ll just stick to what I know they do well. Chai latte, Carne Asada burrito, Baklava(!!!), and the little chocolate mousse pudding things. Word to the wise, though: Their burgers are a bit of a disappointment! I hope this little Whittier establishment stays for as long as I live! I love Mimo’s!

So, I eat here every so often and it’s always hit or miss. Today was a definite miss. Not only did they mess up the order, my friend’s turkey sandwich looked awful and tasted even worse. The turkey was so rubbery and chewy. It was all bad. I won’t be back after this experience. I also may or may have not gotten food poisoning from the place. Bummed.

Service is great. Food selection is wide. Breakfast all day. Quality of food is what you pay for in my opinion. I love the breakfast burritos here!

Ah, Mimo’s how wonderful are you? I just love that you have a nice little outside area to eat & do a great amount of people watching. The food is so tasty. I’ve had salads, sandwiches, & even breakfast here and I am always pleased. The coffee is really good too!

i think this has got to be one of the nicest and cleanest little places I’ve ever dined at. It’s in a cute little shopping area. And the food is fresh, including their bakery products. I used to live right up the street from it so would walk down there to eat. Their lattes I remember with a piece of cake or scone. And the menu has an assortment. I highly recommend Mimo’s. i miss it. I think it’s a mom and pop — family owned café. It’s wonderful.

Mimo’s food is the freshest, and not greasy at all. I usually get the spaghetti, spicy chicken sandwich, sandwiches and hamburgers and breakfast is amazing here too. They have a big selection of desserts too. Their chocolate chip cookies and brownies are to die for. So fresh and chewy and soft. They also carry cheese cake, apple pie, and other pies. So much goodness to choose from. You can bring your pets and enjoy your food outside while people watching. They have great customer service too, very friendly staff.

Way surpassed my expectations. Not much to look at, but the attention to the detail and prep of the food was top notch. Spiced to perfection. A group of 5 of us almost walked by, but one of us had such positive things to say, we stopped. Al Fresco — The Patio is urban, and fun. What an eclectic clientele. Just weird enough to be interesting. The service? Everything with a genuine smile. Look at the desserts? «We can box anything for later…» Okay, so maybe there are fancier places, but basic, solid, tasty and fresh, Mimo’s has their act together. We had vegetarian options, cold, and hot foods, all just great.

I really want to like this place but if you want to eat outside, good luck. You’ll taste cigarettes. Seriously there are always people smoking. Any time of day you go. The regulars chain smoke the day away. Really off putting. I wanted to take my daughter but contributing to her getting second hand smoke is not cool.

Burger was fine, but needed a little salt. Fries were good. Price(a burger/fries/drink special) was nice. Seating wasn’t very comfortable but I enjoyed being outside on the patio. Dogs are allowed outside.

DISCLAIMER: YOUNGMALEEMPLOYEEDISRESPECTSANELDERLYMAN Dear Ramon(said owner) Today, as I was waiting for my food, I witnessed one of your young male employees verbally abuse a customer who was also an elderly man, stumped over, who could barely walk, more less bend over, for supposably not cleaning up after his dogs(THEREWERENODOGSINSIGHT.) The way this young man was shouting and demeaning this poor, old man was unacceptable and so freakin rude and embarrassing to watch, I just could not just sit back and watch him disrespect an elder like that. When I told your employe he should have more respect for his elders, he then began to SHOUT at me telling me all the reason why his behavior was justifiable. Hey kid, Im sorry, but there is NEVER a reason to be so disrespectful to anyone, especially a fragile, almost helpless ninety year old man, and if you would shut you loud, flamboyant, disrespectful mouth for a second, you’d realize how he can barely walk and you want him to bend over and pick up his dogs mess? If you knew manners, you would just do it for him, as any employee should! After requesting my money back(there was no way I was going stay there) and telling the cashier I didn’t not feel good about supporting them, the kid went at it again, pointing his finger in my face and telling me don’t interrupt his conversations! Um… conversations are when two people diplomaticaly discuss things, not yell and shout in innocent peoples faces. When I told him he was rude, he pointed his finger in my face and said«your not my boss, you’d don’t pay me, so shut up. Um the thing is I kinda do. but not anymore. As a business owner, I’d never tolerate this behavior, right or wrong, from any employee. I have hundreds of local clients, and I will share with them all, both personally and on my email search engine, to not support this business that has an employee that abuses the elderly, so long as this kid is employed there. SHAMEFUL!!!

We seen this place on Unilocal and decided to give it a try. We have been on a kick lately trying out new breakfast places so why not give this place a try. Nice and small little building with an outside patio and dog friendly. We went in, looked over the menu and placed our order. We sat outside to enjoy the nice weather. I ordered a coffee and had the 3 pancakes, two eggs, two bacon and two sausage. I was really excited for the pancakes but was disappointed. They tasted a little rubbery or doughy I was expecting a nice fluffy airy pancake but that was not the case. The eggs, bacon and sausage well you can’t go wrong with that. My wife had a Greek omelet that she enjoyed that came with potatoes that she was. It a fan of. They were not very flavorful and had some wheat toast. Would we go back to give it another try? Not sure but it was cool to try a new spot.

I love coming to Mimo’s early on a Sunday morning before it gets packed. The view from the outside of the café is great. It has a great view of Uptown Whittier. The service here is very friendly and accommodating. The prices are amazing! The menu has an array of food selection, however, not everything is particularly good. Although, one of my favorite meals is the Greek Omelette with a hot chocolate on the side. It comes with country style potatoes and your choice of toast. I recommend coming during the morning and sitting in the patio area. It’s a great place to eat and catch up on emails or even with a friend!

Pleasant outdoor patio area, and attentive employees. You can then enjoy a pleasant walk in Uptown.

What. Is. THIS?(see photo) I ordered a turkey sandwich. What I received looked more like a bad filet of fish, all pink and spongy. And don’t forget the old tomato ends with brown stem included. Blech. The breakfast burrito I had yesterday was also a huge disappointment — 90% potato and some burned bacon bits. We are regular customers in my office and we all agree something just isn’t right with Mimo’s anymore…

Went here for breakfast. Husband wanted to check this place out. I thought this place would be a big restaurant. There’s plenty of outdoor seating. There are even outdoor heaters. There were tables inside as well. I had the Denver omelette with wheat toast and potato hash. I had an orange juice to drink. The omelette had green peppers and ham and cheese was melted on top. It was delicious. I had wheat toast with butter on top. The potatoes had a little flavor to it. Some sort of spice was added to the potatoes. It was flavorful. I enjoyed my meal. The servers and the ladies behind the counter were really nice. The young gentleman that served us was really nice. He made sure we were okay and kept checking up on us. He even offered to turn on the heater for me. Now that is what I call customer service. If a server goes out of his way to make me feel comfortable, then that server gets 5 stars from me. It’s a great place for breakfast and brunch. There is street parking. Place is within old Downtown Whittier. Cool place. Come early because there were a lot of people that came in after us. Highly recommend!

Really nice outdoor atmosphere. It’s a small café, with breakfast and lunch specials. Interior is small, but majority of the seats are outdoors. In Uptown Whittier, it’s a nice spot to eat, drink coffee, and watch the streets. The service is quite friendly. You order at the counter and they bring out the food. Today, I got the Tilapia Lunch special which was under $ 9, It consisted of seasoned tilapia, salad, fries, and a drink. It’s not particularly unusual in terms of flavor(It was not unlike the tilapia from let’s say California Fish Grill), but it’s quite pleasant. The fries were tasty. I put balsamic vinegar on my salad and it was pleasant. I got hot tea(jasmine) since it was chilly outside. There are many regulars who come here. A group of 2 – 6 is probably ideal, mostly for outdoor seating. There’s street parking, but there are also different parking areas about a block away. The street scene is quite cozy with that old town atmosphere with pawn shops and record shops and such. A good amount of Uptown Whittier has that old town atmosphere that is quite charming.

Perfect spot for a café in Uptown. Have yummy breakfast, lunch and dinner. You can sit outside and people watch while eating. They have tasty pastries and a variety of items on the menu to choose from. My favorite breakfast item is the Greek Omelett. Lunch is the spicy chicken sandwich combo. Prices are to par with the food.

My first time here… When I arrived I asked where the restroom is located and was told that I needs to go across the street by the parking structure … What?!? We sat outside in the lovely patio. All was good until our food arrived and suddenly all the flies in Whittier were upon us… So here’s the trick… Cover your food with a napkin and pull out bites as needed. I ordered the club sandwich with potato salad and is was ok. The salad lacked any flavor, so save the calories and get the fruit.

I cannot believe I haven’t written a review for Mimo’s! What can I say? I come here way more often than I should but it’s walking distance from my casa(ok all of Greenleaf is walking distance from my casa) so I come here for breakfast, lunch, ice cream, lattes, etc. I am a big fan of their Chorizo plate for breakfast because I am a big fan of everything that comes from a pig… ok not everything but you catch my drift. I am also a big fan of their ham and cheese sandwich(told ya) because they use the Thanksgiving ham on it not the thin excuse of deli meat they use at Subway. My son loves their ice cream cones and shakes because they make it with real ice cream. Vanilla latte is a must, it’s all frothy and makes you feel giddy inside. The first time I came here(a long ass time ago) the girl at the counter was a bite of a you-know-what so I was like, yea I am not going to like this place. But I gave it another shot and everyone has been tots friendly especially a young guy and girl. They come out and ask you how you are doing and they bring you water too. Only thing is they don’t have a bathroom so better pee pee before leaving home and bring your hand sanitizer. This is a nice spot to come and sit outside and people watch the freaky crowd that live in or visit Whittier. You can find me here eating, blogging, or staring at strangers until they become uncomfortable.
