Ok, I have been here before and didn’t review. I remember before ordering something(not sure what it was) but after ordering and paying, I was told that they didn’t have it. Today was no different, ordered a meatball sandwich and a hot roast beef sandwich. After paying for the meal, was told they didn’t have any meatballs. Then I noticed the person making my sandwich put the meat in the microwave to warm it up. Really? I would expect to pay a premium price for a sandwich that was prepared correctly. I’m definitely not going back. Subway and Jersey Mike’s don’t do that. Also, the people who ordered after me got served before me and it seemed they knew the guy preparing the sandwiches. Hmmm. Maybe I’ll open my own premium sandwich shop there in Uptown.

I was recommended to try this place out by one of the nearby businesses that I was visiting. Pretty typical sandwich shop. I ordered an egg salad sandwich. It was light so for those who are more health conscious this might be something you’d want to try. My boyfriend ordered their BBQ beef sandwich(I think that’s what it’s called). That was delicious! Full of flavor and very satisfying. I think this place is worth the try if you’re craving sandwiches. There’s a good variety of them. Don’t forget to get the hot pickled carrots they keep on the other end of the counter!

Came in ordered a club They let me know that it came with 3 slices of bread. I am watching my carbs so I asked if they had anything with just two slices of bread. Sherrice recommended to get the deli club and it was amazing I got the deli club with a side of potato salad and I absolutely loved it

Wouldn’t come back to this place. I ordered a chicken wrap. Girl at the register said it came with lettuce and tomato. The menu said it included sprouts. When I requested them, Mr. Sandwich said no. Wow! The menu also indicated it came with dressing. I asked what kind. She said mayonnaise and mustard were the dressing. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’ve never heard of those two being dressing. She must have seen the perplexed look on my face because she offered vinaigrette. I said yes, add that. I watched as Mr. Sandwich MICROWAVED my chicken breast and prepared my sandwich. When I received it, it was tiny(certainly not worth the almost $ 8.00 I paid for it), chicken tasted, well, microwaved, and there was no vinaigrette in it. It was as bland as bland can be. PLEASE invest in a toaster oven instead of microwaving chicken! Disgusting. I should have gone to Subway instead!

Came here after a 6 and a half hour drive. We were hungry and new to the area and we’re looking for a quick bite to eat, so we checked Unilocal and found this little gem! Our sandwiches were delicious and really fresh! The girl at the counter was super nice, and she seemed to know all the regulars&their orders, which says a lot about a place! I can’t wait to come back down to SoCal, I’ll definitely be coming to this place.

One of my favorite spots in Whittier. It’s a little pricey for a sandwich, but everything is super fresh and high quality.

Seriously, no lie, when I die I want to come back as a piece of ham so that employees at Mr. Sandwhich can lay me in one of their beautifully crafted sandwiches. Or, better yet, I want to come back as a tortilla so that I can hug all those gorgeous veggies they put in their wraps. This is thee best sandwich shop I have ever been to. Not only is their food made with love(like the way cat lady’s love their cats) but the employees there are super sweet. I absolutely recommend this place!!!

OWNER: LISTENUP. 1st the sandwich was warmed in a microwave. That’s horrible. 2nd sandwiches warmed in microwaves should never be $ 7.00 and change. 3rd it’s ok if you take your time and properly prep your food, line and mise en place. 4th nothing was special about anything I had. 5th the service was great. Your place was clean. The cook stayed clean and was exceptionally fast. 6th…get rid of your microwaves 7th get ride of your microwaves 8th repeat 6&7 9th take a chance!!! Try something new aioli, garnish, bib lettuce different cheeses… anything!!! B4 someone comes in with a better place and takes your sandwich business. Get creative and give uptown Whittier what they deserve… a great sandwich place. Carry on

I have worked in Uptown Whittier for 5 years and this is one of my favorite places to go. The sandwiches are pretty good but it’s the service that keeps me coming back. Everyone is so friendly and David, who makes the sandwiches, is amazing. 4 stars as it can be pricey compared to a standard sandwich shop but I keep coming back and will continue to do so.

Just had a pastrami sandwich! I’ve had pastrami from many places. This is by far one of the best pastrami sandwiches in the L.A. Area. David is a sandwich master. I recommend stopping by if you are in Uptown Whittier.

Don’t try to do take out and expect your food ready! I was wanting to take my kids food for after a school performance so I called and hour ahead of time, I also let them know my situation«we where running a tight schedule»! When I show up people who worked there just stared at me, I was kinda like, «is anyone going to help me»! Finally someone gets up to help me and I give them my card to pick up my food! Then mr. Sandwich comes walking out with a big block of ham! I ask as they are trying to figure out how to work the Credit card machine or what ever they use, if they going to start making my sandwiches now! and they said yes! I thought that me calling an hour a head of time was enough time since there was nobody in the store to make my sandwiches! so now my kids don’t have food for after their performance that really pissed me off! I’m giving them a extra star because my sandwich decent the last time I went here! That was the last time I will give them my business!

I had a tuna sandwich on rye. The sandwich was excellent! The folks are friendly and attentive. I paid $ 8.30 for a can of diet Pepsi, chips and a sandwich. There are plenty of tables. The place looks clean. Its a busy sandwich shop but they are quick.

Nothing special. Too pricey for a basic sandwich. I got a turkey(the budget option) and I did add avocado and it was $ 7 and some change. That’s all I ordered.

If it’s the most basic, made-to-order deli sandwich that your hankering for, then Mr. Sandwich is your deli heaven. It ain’t fancy(and neither is the ambiance), but it’s fresh and delish.

You get a bad review because you won’t let me try your food. I’ve gone out of my way several times only to find that you are closed during business hours. Please be a little more considerate!

Great little place to eat when you’re in uptown. David is been here for ever and he makes a mean sandwich. They cut all the meats fresh. Once you’ve had Mr. sandwich you will never want another sandwich from anywhere else again.

The sandwiches, salads, wraps are DELICIOUS!!! The sandwich maker guy is so nice and it’s easy to see he takes pride making the food. Love it here and the prices are so great. Cold turkey with avocado on wheat and hot pastrami are my favorites. Recently I tried the protein salad and it was amazing as well. Only recommendation: call ahead with your order cause they do get busy around lunch time.

This place is awesome!!! From their sandwiches to their customer service. All around great! I came here for lunch and had a turkey avocado sandwich and was delicious. They got homemade Jalapeños con Zanahorias!!! I normally wait for the second visit to write a review, but I was impressed with the Tuna Sandwich and the jalapeños. My husband had the ham and bacon club sandwich($ 8.25). For the price of the club I expected it to come with a drink and chips. When I saw them slicing the ham and layering it sky high, I was like okay, not bad. My husband said«It was good… Worth every penny.» ‘My son had the mini meatball sandwich and enjoyed the meatballs, but not the bread. I want to come back and try the soups. They only have soups M-F. The guy said they make everything from scratch which always wins me over. I do think it’s a little pricey, but they’ve been in business forever so I guess people don’t mind. I’m glad I have a local sandwich place that isn’t subway.
