Came here and ordered pupusas and horchata, all delicious. Greeted, seated, ordered, and served in a very timely manner. Options to sit inside and outside. Very good customer service

Well Gaby was amazing but there prices are pretty expensive but I’m sure I’d probably try it again since I normally go back for the service and Gaby was great

My family and I have been coming here for years. We all agree that this is a good local family Salvadorean restaurant. As loyal costumers we have seen many changes throughout the years. Both positive and negative. The restaurant itself is much more colorful and vibrant with the addition of the outside patio rooftop, lights, plants, artwork and music. No matter how fancy a restaurant may look bottom line it’s ALL about the FOOD. In terms of food quality some days the pupusas /other food options and drinks are spot on! 5 out of 5 stars! While other days the food tastes completely different. Which is why I am giving it 4 out 5 stars due to lack of consistency. I believe this is due to the changing of management and/or ownership every couple of months/years. They are always hiring new cooks, servers, and waiters. Personal red flag. This makes it difficult for my family and I to build any relationship with its l employees and trust we will receive the same quality food we like and have enjoyed all these years.

I swear if I was basing this review solely on their pupusas, five stars hands down! On the other hand, the service is subpar. We were seated in the patio and were left unattended after we received our food for one full hour. After complaining to the cashier as we were paying I asked for a to-go refill on horchata and she denied my request to which I asked for a manager. What a mess! The manager explained they did not offer refills on horchata and that the restaurant is small but they were busy and I should understand the lack of service. The manager did end up giving me a refill, but made it seem as if I was asking him to comp our entire meal. From here on out I will only order pick up.

Great authentic salvy food. My brother drives from San Dimas to Whittiter not to see me but to get Sol Maya. They are the bomb!

So glad to have found this place. Clean location, cute patio and good food. Very reasonably priced. Have had pupusas, yucca con chicharron, pan con pollo and everything has been delicious. Today will try salpicon and pollo asado… yum. :)

–a hole in the wall gem– It’s actually a cute salvi spot. I mean, my people really have no sense of decorating their restaurants. So, it was to my surprise that the décor and ambience was nice. I suggest you sit in the patio, it’s a cool spot to eat. heads up! parking is limited slow service, but the food and friendly staff make up for it. I’ve tried their pupusas, salpicon, horchata, ensalada(drink) Pupusas: revueltas are a must! those are my fave. pupusas de revuelta have cheese, pork, and beans. Goes great with salsa & curtido Salpicon: shredded beef or turkey, diced with mint and onions. It’s served with a side of rice, beans, tortillas, and salad. Horchata: like another reviewer said, it’s not like the mexican horchata. don’t expect it to be. While I love the mexican horchata, it is sweet unlike the salvadorean horchata. it actually tastes very similar to the spanish(valencian) orxata. SO good! Ensalada(drink): It’s a delicious fruit salad beverage.(they make it delicious here) I’m very picky about this beverage and where I buy it because when not made properly, it can be flavorless. Overall: Delicious food, slow customer service, cute spot, friendly staff.

So I had been to this location before they remodeled. I love authentic Hispanic foods, but one thing I don’t like is the small dingy feel of some places. This place has great food, and looks nice inside; the patio area also looks tropical with all the plants. Pupusas were delicious, my ensalada drink and husbands horchata were also on point. Needless to say we will definitely be returning.

The food is exceptional. The pupusas are delicious and not too greasy, the empanadas de platano are the best I’ve had from any other El Salvadoran restaurant. The ensalada drink is delicious and refreshing, it’s my new obsession. The location is very small however, they take great pride in keeping it tidy and clean. The servers are great and very pleasant. I’ve visited many El Salvadoran restaurants and by far this one has very authentic home style taste, you can literally taste the quality in comparison to other places that can be very«eh» lol parking is a challenge since it’s a very small little strip. My daughter loved the platanos fritos and yuca frita, she’s a very selective eater since she became a toddler, she only eats really yummy foods. I will continue to visit this little gem and I hope the quality never changes.

This place was a pleasant surprise. We went here for our coworker’s birthday. I didn’t realize this place was Salvadorean. It’s in a tucked in strip mall, difficult to find if you’re not looking. It’s a nice hole in the wall. *Chips and Salsa — The chips seems super deep fried, but they are very good. If anything they are the best super deep fried chips i’ve ever had. The salsa is very hot, and should take precaution before trying. No i’m kidding, but it is hot. **Guacamole — This guacamole had a great display. It was art that you can eat. I eventually tore it all up in my mouth. It was a very tasty guac and it was a good partner with my food. ***Huevos Con Carne Asada — Eggs, Carne Asada, Casamiento(rice mixed with beans), Cheese, and a Chili Pepper. It was a delicious plate. I ended up eating with the salsa that came with the chips. I chopped the chili’s and mixed it with the food. It was a party in my mouth. The egg was fried to perfection. I was totally satisfied with my meal. I think the only gripe is location. This could be the best Salvadorean food I’ve ever had, but then again, I don’t remember eating Salvadorean food ever. THank you for the meal.

Pretty good! Not fantastic, but pretty tasty! Had the Breakfast Tipico Maya #2. The Pork and Cheese and the Squash Pupusas were good. The fried banana and the beans were good as well. Bought a cake on my way out. It was good as well. All in all, every thing was good, but not spectacular.

This has to probably the best Salvadorian restaurant in Whittier then again I think its the only Salvadorian restaurant in Whittier Lol. My wife and son’s had the pupusas and they loved it, I ordered the steak skewers for $ 10 plus change they were very delicious and the portions were big I had to take half of it home. The waitress was super nice great service I highly recommend this place.

I’ve been to this place twice and I have to say it does not disappoint! Being half-Salvadoran myself, I brought my Korean and Filipino friends to try what my people dine on. Surprisingly, they LOOOVED it!(well, maybe not the Filipino bastard ;) –Food: So obviously we had to dine on El Salvador’s traditional Pupusa dishes and gat damn they’re better than my own abuelita’s! They’re proportionally made just right with the perfect blend of ingredients in the curtido(pickled cabbage [similar to kimchi, but not spicy]) and tomato sauce. If I were to recommend any to newcomers, I would recommend the most pupular: queso(cheese), revuelta(pork/cheese), or jalapeño. –Drinks: Try the Horchata! Salvadorans have their own kind of Horchata that is a chalkier tasting version of the Mexican variation. It’s an acquired taste, but I absolutely love it! My friends did as well. Ambiance: Actually not too bad considering the location. The owners have actually done a really nice job painting the walls a nice shade of gold with typical Latin American art on the walls. The tables and décor actually look very nice. –Service: The waitresses there were actually very kind and helpful. They realized that my friends were totally oblivious to the cuisine and joked at our silliness. They were very hospitable. –Overall: If you’re interested in a sample of Latin American cuisine, I’d definitely recommend this place. In both of my experiences, I cannot think of anything negative to say other than a slightly long wait on our first time. Definitely try it out!

This place seriously has the best pupusas around! And I mean from the South Bay to Whittier it is the best pupuseria! They are perfect in every way, just like they should be! Even better when the cheese oozes out a bit and gets a nice crusty crunch! They are cooked fresh to order(so give yourself sometime to enjoy a delicious Ensalada)! Pupusas Specials on Wednesdays for $ 1.75(Cheese & Revueltas only)! I love the Revueltas Pupusas and the Loroco! The wait staff are always friendly! What a hidden gem in Whittier!
