Didn’t liked them pupusas at all. Cheese seems cheap and water is from the faucet… Wouldn’t go back sorry.

I had such high hopes but they skimped too much on the cheese… go for the breakfast, not the pupusas.

The pupusas were fantastic. The huevos rancheros were also great. The ratings for this are probably a little off because it really caters to Spanish speaking community. Our waitress did not speak English. Looking at the smiling faces eating around us, most would probably give 4 stars or higher. Our service was fine. Definitely would eat here again. Very authentic according to my wife.(She is from Central America)

I have to say I was very disappointed with both the food and service at this establishment. I LOVE pupusas and there’s were mediocre to say the least. My husband got a steak torta and it was extremely dry. The waitress brought us drinks and never came back to refill, we had to walk to her. Took 35 minutes for two pupusas and the torta. Never going back and not recommending at all.

Just finished eating… food was amazing service on the other hand wasn’t so great. I don’t speak a single word in Spanish and the waitress only spoke Spanish. Even after talking to her in English she only spoke Spanish to us. It took her awhile to come to us for drinks, it took her forever to bring the drinks to us. Not once did she check up on us to see if things were ok. She brought us our food, and didn’t bother to ask if we wanted refills. I ate my food without a drink, and my husband ate his food with half of a drink. Other than that, everything was good, food wise that is

What you know about that Salvadorian food. Pupusa nice authentic a Salvadorian cuisine it’s like a flat bread burrito price is 2 bucks each. I had the cheese and pork Pupusa. But I feel it’s a little to cheesy for me

Bad Service from the very beginning I walked in. girl was very rude all pissed off I have no idea why. I ordered pupusas de chicharon to go. My order was all wrong They gave me cheese and very small just like a happy meal. what a ripoff. Never again… its sad we tried to support small business like this one and we get crap.

Not a good place. Had to wait 15 minutes to get our drinks then 45 minutes to get our food. It was cold, bland, and unappealing. Customer service is horrible I asked the woman for a menu and she rolled her eyes at me. Do yourself a favor and just go to Denny’s.

Just got back home from ordering take out… we have ordered/eaten from here many times & it did not disappoint. However, lately the food has been lacking! We USED to love the pupusas but now the red sauce they serve is like water with no flavor, the cheese pupusa is not Salvadoran cheese but a cheap mozzarella or something! It’s not Italian food & does not taste good! We ordered a chicken soup & the broth had no flavor & tasted like hot water, the chicken was dry & seasoning.we tried to season it so it can taste better but no luck, we ordered platanos fritos & wow the beans! Which used to be tasty & thick came in a cup that looked like alot of water mixed with beans! I literally had to make my own black beans on the side to enjoy the platanos! The only decent thing we got was the atole de elote which didn’t have any CORN& the cream for the platanos! I’m sorry El Zipote you used to have really good food & would go often but the quality has gone way down & we will not be going back anymore. I’ll find another Salvi place even it’s far…

Just finished eating!!! Sadly I was disappointed with the food! It gets three stars because the place was very clean and the staff was very friendly and attentive. The food lacked the real authentic Salvadorian flavor. Every time I try a new Salvadorian restaurant I always order pupusas, pastelitos, ensalada the fruit drink not a salad, and atol de elote. The pupusas lacked flavor and they did not use Salvadorian cheese which gave them an awkward taste. The pastelitos were too soft and soggy instead of crunchy and the stuffing was so plain. My ensalada drink only had apples and way too sweet. Where’s all my other fruit??? The atol de elote was very sweet and had no maize! What??? elote means corn!!! I always like to try new Salvadorian restaurants because there are not many close to my house, but sadly I won’t be coming back here.

As a Salvadorian I don’t feel the pupusas are authentic, and they took over 40 minutes just to bring 6 pupusas really? I’m positive they don’t take long to make! If you are looking for good salvi food try mayras in Downey instead of this place !

Best salvi place around here honestly. Pupusas are pretty good. They have a good hapoy hour if you get off work early enough to catch it. Delicious soups and meal plates though. must try. When I feel like having something that tastes homemade this is the first spot I come to.

Total waste of money, time & patience. Waited 45 minutes to an hour for 5 pupusas. Restaurant wasn’t even busy, only 3 tables were being serviced. Waitress passed by me multiple times & didn’t ask if I needed anything. My soda was warm & it was flat. I tried to be optimistic & thought maybe the food would be worth the wait but I was wrong. It was bland & it wasn’t even the right thing I ordered. I left my(practically untouched) food there & paid the check. Never coming here again. Never!

It’s ok. Could be better. Pupusas are smaller than from a place I go to in the OC(look up El Chinaco in Costa Mesa) but a bit cheaper. The chicharron(pork used for stuffing them) was insipid. It has to be just right, not salty not tasteless. Not too dry not too watery. Prices are very reasonable.

If your looking for authentic pupusas this is the place. Staff is nice and it can get a bit busy during lunch hour. They have fresh drinks and the regular sodas from a can. It can take a while to get your order but here is a tip. TIP: you can call your order in and it will be ready by the time you arrive.

I love the pupusas here! The service is great, unless it gets busy. We went around 4:30 or so on a Thursday.(They have .99 pupusas on Tuesdays and Thursday, and only sell canned soda.) We ordered 6 pupusas and it took 20 minutes. By 5:30 most tables were occupied. She also came by and checked on us a couple times. Luckily I speak Spanish so it made everything easier. We’re definitely coming back. The reason they only got 4 stars was because the music and the 5 o’clock news were both blaring and it was annoying. We saved our conversations for afterwards, trying was pointless.
