Just hosted a graduation party at this restaurant, they have a beautiful courtyard with bistro lights and a fountain. All the guests commented on how beautiful it was, it’s a bit of a hidden gem. We had the entire courtyard to ourselves with very little interference from the actual restaurant(the restroom was shared but not a big deal). Fred(the owner) was so great and accommodating. My every request was filled without hesitation. He gave us the area and we were allowed to set up and decorate as we saw fit. Food was delish! The only suggestion/critique I have is that the cocktails were a bit pricey and should be served in a real glass. They were $ 8-$ 10 depending on what you ordered and served in a small clear plastic cup. The price of drinks is comparable to the area but for that price a real glass would add a bit of class. Overall, it went very well and my grads and guests were happy. Thank you Mission Square for helping to make our event a success!

This place was perfect for our event. We had a college graduation party on 6÷3÷16 for my daughter. The setting was perfect with running fountain, brick floor throughout patio, trees, plants, and just the right amount of lighting. The linens and wooden chairs made the place look so quaint and simple which is perfect. The food was delicious with healthy portions(people couldn’t stop talking about it) My experience with the Fred at Mission square was pleasant and streamlined. We called him and explained we attended a previous event there and wanted to book our event. He gave me the available dates in June and gave the day that we could go over pricing and planning. We met with him and left the deposit. Three weeks prior to the party we went in to sample the food and selected our menu for the event, we paid the balance the week of the event. The streamline process was easy and stress free. Thank you Fred. We will definitely use The Mission Square for future events and we will be back to eat Italian dinners at the restaurant(love the bread). P. S. Went to a graduation party the next day at a reputable hotel and the food did not compare to The Mission Square

The waiter gave himself a $ 45.00 tip. He also charge the party for the piece of cake meant for the birthday girl $ 13.00. The soda was flat. The Ice tea tastes nothing like ice tea. The waiter was lost and seemed to have checked out. My friend was disappointed in the party. I will not step foot in the restaurant due to the above mentioned grievances put forth.

I was looking for a outdoor venue for my son’s first communion and emailed this place. The owner called me right away and told me it was available for the date I requested and asked me to come by on the weekend to see the patio since there would be an event going on. He did mention he wouldn’t be able to book it then since he would be busy with the ongoing event but to call Monday to get things going. So there we go like a bunch of idiots. The owner(Fred I think was his name) wasn’t even there but we saw the patio, thought it was cute and I made a note to call first thing Monday morning. Monday morning: I call only to be told that there was another event already booked for the same time so sorry. He told me that he books the space a year in advance(yea fucken right) ok then WHYDIDYOUMAKEMEWASTEMYTIMETOBEGINWITH? The guy is nice, the place is nice, I am assuming the food is good but I think they need to hire someone to actually work on their events because clearly this man has no clue. I wouldn’t recommend them as an event venue… and I am an event producer so take my advice for what it’s worth.

My parents hosted a party here for my sisters college graduation. Unfortunately this venue didn’t deliver all that was promised. I really feel like Fred is biting off more than he can chew. The red flag should have been when we sat down to discuss party plans with him he was very unorganized. we asked to try samples of his food, he said he doesn’t normally offer samples until people have booked a party with a down-payment. Wtf? No. if your food sucks we need to know before. he finally agreed. The food was good. We booked a party for 40 people in the outdoor courtyard. The courtyard has a beautiful fountain that we loved & we were told he’d be getting new linen, new chairs, & new lights. We also informed him we wanted a cake & candy table. He said he’d order extra black linen for those tables too. Great! 3 days before the party we pay the remaining balance. Minus a few dollars because he added gratuity to the bill that didn’t add up. He taxed the linen rentals(sales tax on a rental?!) and he added gratuity to the entire bill. Gratuity should only be based on food, not rentals, and BEFORE taxes. My sister, has worked in the restaurant business for 10 yrs, Fred is doing it wrong. He said it was fine even though he paid $ 700 out of pocket for new linens and chairs for the party. ummm, no, you informed us that you were purchasing these items while we were booking. I don’t give any cares what u spent out of pocket, that’s part of being a business owner. That wasn’t special just for us. How tacky. day of: There is a small room to the side of the courtyard that we were told was part of our venue, but he had another party going on in there while ours began! It wasnt too bad except that there are windows on the door and they kept staring at our party. Awkward. That party ended 2 hrs into our own party & those guests literally had to walk through the middle of our event to leave! Furthermore there weren’t any signs for the restrooms. It was word of mouth to find out where they were. Fred needs to invest of a nice cloth tarp or tables with umbrellas. There are these trees with purple flowers that provide great shade, but they shed leaves, twigs, and flowers very frequently. Foliage was falling into our plates and drinks all night! Eeww! Oh, the table cloths for the cake table and candy table were not provided as promised. He only purchased new black linen for the FOUR tables outside. So we had to use a tacky plastic one for the cake and white for the candy table. Wasn’t what we paid for. we were charged extra for special linen for 6 tables, only got 4. Oh, & the beautiful fountain we loved was GREEN! the water was green & the fountain was not running. «The pump broke» ummm, we have a pool, it takes a while for your water to turn GREEN. He knew about it for a good while & didn’t fix it. Who does that?! The food was good, thank God, but he didn’t make enough. The first people who got served were served two spoonfuls of everything, nice portioned plates. By the time I got to the buffet after most people were served I barely got one spoonful. I was still hungry… whatever, at least my kids were full! Oh, & when I asked for a high chair Fred expected me to rummage through his utility closet to get it, pointing out the room, «Oh it’s over there in the closet» I looked at him like he was crazy. He got it for me. We paid gratuity for wait staff that was never around, partly because Fred understaffed the event. My sister started bussing the tables before they finally got the hint that they should clear dirty dishes. The bar was frequently unattended with our guests waiting around for staff to walk by and take their drink order. Fred needed at least two more servers. He ran out of soap in the bathroom, he said the other party used it all, then he grabbed the soap from the kitchen that the staff uses & put it in the bathroom… what did the staff use after that?! The kicker though is when the party is booked from 6pm to midnight, it gets cold during our party & you ask him to turn on the heaters that you’re told are included & he tells you«oh, there’s no more propane because the other party used it all. You have to take the tanks and get them filled if you want them to be turned on.» WTF?! YOUARERENTINGANOUTDOORCOURTYARDFORANEVENINGPARTY. FILLINGPROPANETANKSISYOURDAMNRESPONSIBILITY! I seriously dont understand him… OH, ANDTEACHYOURSTAFFNOTTOSMOKEDURINGOURPARTYINTHEMIDDLEOFOUREVENT. 6FEETAWAYFROMMYTODDLER! WTF?! Fred doesn’t really know what he’s doing when it comes to event planning. The party was still a success, but that’s because our family is awesome & we have a great time no matter what. Fred is cheap, promises the world and only delivers 2⁄3 of what he says. he made his staff dress well for the event, but he was in jeans & a tshirt. Very unprofessional. The price is reasonable, but like the saying goes«you get what you pay for»

The worst dining experience I’ve had in a long time. I have to admit the food is good but when the service is bad, it all goes down… Let me start by saying that before we went in there, we kind of knew what we were getting in to, but had some hope that we could be wrong. The owner of this restaurant used to run another restaurant a few years ago and that didn’t last very long. And what really bugs me about this person is that he has what it takes in terms of food(of course except for his cooking times) because it is very good, but he just refuses to invest in management and training his staff. Why??? Slow slow service: 45 minutes after I ordered food for the kids, we were still waiting for it(plain pasta and steamed veggies… seriously?) I ordered a fish, they didn’t have it, then gnocchi, didn’t have any. The owner must have known we were pissed because at some point my husband walked inside to check on our food and minutes later he just walked by us instead of apologizing. That’s unacceptable. I could go on but honestly I can’t recommend a place with such bad management. I’m sorry for the waiters and hope they find a better job. One thing is for sure. We will never come back here again.

Delicious Italian food !!! Ingredients were excellent quality. Staff was very helpful and friendly. Environment was quaint and classy, a nice romantic candlelit dimly lit dining experience at night. Husband had the lasagna with a side of mashed potatoes, I had the pesto linguini with shrimp and scallops(I forget the actual name of the dish), and a bowl of tomato soup. Everything tastes super fresh. The bread was hot and delicious. We would definitely go back NOTE– this restaurant is easy to miss. There is no prominent sign. Look for the green overhang and definitely use your GPS. The name of the restaurant(or even any sign indicating there is a restaurant at that location) is non existent

I was first here for dinner with my sister and cousin in April. We chose it because it is centrally located for the three of us and it is close to the house my cousin’s daughter was in the midst of purchasing. So as a bonus she was able to join us for a quick glass of wine before heading off to meet with her realtor. I should have reviewed then, but just never go around to it. I do remember we all enjoyed it very much. The food was very good, great service, and we enjoyed a beautiful California evening out in the patio next to the fountain. Fast forward to yesterday when I attended the wedding of my cousin’s daughter. Her new house is 4 – 5 blocks from the restaurant so she and her fiancé have been a few times and enjoyed it, so when they began searching for wedding locations and wanting to stay within budget, they could not pass on what The Mission offered. The outdoor patio was a perfect the location! Intimate without being crowded. Tables were arranged so it was easy to move around. The food of course, was good and served in an adjacent room buffet style so it was not out in the cool evening air. We were most impressed with the servers. Mostly young, but they were on top of everything, and so courteous! They worked they butts off! Wow! If they weren’t doing it ahead of time, all we had to do was ask and it was taken care of. It was a wonderful and enjoyable evening. A most appreciative thank you and congrats to the event manager and his staff! You rock!

I truly enjoyed the food here. Service was alright, however the pizza was amazing. I will definitely be coming back here again. I truly enjoyed the music as well – this is a place I would take my friends to to catch up. Location is a little hidden, but once you enter you feel secluded from the world. Wonderful. Looking forward to my next trip here!

Love me some italian food. Another place i came to in which l had no idea was here. It is located right across from the Radisson on the penn side. The time I came, there was a wedding reception going on right outside so the nice and quiet dinner was interrupted with loud music. It is really small on the inside, not too much decoration going on, and didn’t seem too much like a restaurant. The service is good, and the menu is of course in Italian, but has the description of each in English right underneath. If you want wine, they do not have a wine menu or anything for you to see. Our waitress was very nice, but did not know too much about wine or the names of them. She had to keep going back and forth to check. I don’t blame her, I understand it’s hard to know them all, a menu would help her job. My buddy order the lasagna and I order a pasta with shrimp and scallops. We also ordered calamari for an appetizer and it is not fried, it comes out fresh which was good. My pasta was good as well, not the best I have had but definitely not bad at all. If you want to use the restroom it is outside in the patio area. Being that there was a party outside, I had to walk right through eveyone taking pictures. I would come back another day to give it one more chance, hopefully no outside events are going on. Prices are fair.

Horrible experience at this place. I will make my review short since my fiancé wrote a detailed review ago. I was looking for a good restaurant for very important day of me, my fiancé, and my family. I was searching thru Unilocal, found this place, chose to go to here because;; 1. pictures seemed very nice 2. description says«yes» for reservation 3. description says«quite» for noise level. However, it turned out to be it was a complete lie. My fiancé made reservation and we arrived 10 minutes early, and all tables were full and very very loud. The male waiter said we came early so we had to wait. Ok that was fine. But guess what. We waited 30 minutes without any further notice. We decided to go to different place and was about to leave. My fiancé gently informed the waiter about our situation, and he appologized to my fiancé and told him that he will set up a table in 5 minutes right after that certain table is done. Are you stupid kidding me? Party for that table was still seated and middle of their convetsations. Even though they left right away, it would take more than 15 minutes to clean the table and set up again. You, the owner or manager, need to change your Unilocal description to «no» for reservation, and«loud» for noise level. Dont waste customers time and ruin our special moment with false information.

I start off by saying I spoke with Fred and it was only about Monday(11 – 30) when i called to inquire about his restaurant. I had only 4 days to figure out a venue for our physician office. Fred was more than accomodating and made room for my party of 30. He arranged a preset menu to include chicken, salmon and a filet mignon. Everything came out great! I definitely recommend this restaurant to everyone.

Lesser known than most places in Uptown Whittier, mostly because of location, this is a small restaurant(More of a room than a restaurant) with only eight tables inside. There’s nothing on the building that says«The Mission Square» on it. Your only clue will be the big windows, where you can see people having dinner inside. Just walk in like you’ve been there before. The room has a romantic, almost antique feel to it. The set up is very simple. Broken in wooden chairs, clean white table settings, lounge music, dim lighting. The atmosphere is calm and comfortable. The complimentary bread they serve is excellent.(Soo sooo good) The menu has different pizza, pastas, and salads to choose from. The prices are around twelve to sixteen dollars a plate. The wine prices are not on the menu, but two glasses cost me twenty dollars. They also don’t have their wine listed, so you’ll have to ask your server and they’ll let you know what’s available, or you can bring your own bottle and pay their ten dollar corkage fee. We had two pastas and two glasses of wine. In the end, I spent around $ 68 for our meal.(Total with tax and tip) Kind of expensive, but we enjoyed ourselves, and our meal, and even the wine.

:. Whittier, California .: Lesser known than most places in Uptown Whittier, mostly because of location, The Mission Square is a small restaurant(More of a room than a restaurant) with only eight tables inside. It’s the only restaurant located at the address listed. Some confusion may occur when you fail to see any signs that confirm your arrival.(There’s nothing on the building that says«The Mission Square» on it.) Your only clue will be the big windows, where you can see the guests having dinner inside. Just walk in like you’ve been there before! The restaurant has a romantic, almost antique feel to it. The ambience is nice. Clean white table linen, lounge music, and dim lighting all make for a calm, comfortable meal setting. You can sort of smell the age of the building, which sounds funny, but I believe adds to the experience. The Mission Square is one of the more historic buildings in Uptown Whittier. The broken in wooden chairs and simplicity of the set up create a nostalgic atmosphere. The complimentary bread they serve is excellent.(Soo sooo good) The menu has three main options to choose from: Pizza, Pasta, and Salad. Each option contains about eight to ten different types of selections. The food here has an authentic Italian taste to it. So if you’re more into American Italian, this might not be the place for you. In comparison to popular chains, it’s more Buca Di Beppo than Olive Garden. Everything we ordered had a really fresh taste to it. My pasta was very memorable. The food pricing is on the menu,($ 12-$ 16 per plate) but the wine prices are not. They also don’t have their wine listed, so you’ll have to ask your server and they’ll let you know what’s available. A glass of wine will cost you $ 10, which I found to be a bit much considering they don’t have much of a selection and the wines they do offer aren’t exactly anything special. My fiancé ordered a peach Moscato and was given one of those small single serving size bottles of Myxx(That one wine by Nikki Minaj) We thought it was kind of funny. When it comes to the wine, you’re much better off bringing your own bottle and paying their $ 10 corkage fee. Overall, I spent around $ 70 for our meal.(Two pastas and two glasses of wine.) That’s kind of a lot, and in the end I wasn’t sure I felt like this place lived up to it’s price tag. But after further consideration, I really did enjoy myself, and the food, and even the wine. So I guess I’m cool with it. Although I would definitely have to take the pricing into consideration the next time I come here,

I love this place! The food is amazing and the restaurant is slightly hidden, which makes it awesome. They miss the 5-stars due to the wait times. There is usually no more than 1 waiter, so if there are multiple parties, expect to wait. My last dinner visit, we waited over an hour for main dishes. I still wont stop visiting. I just plan my visits around their workload. Kudos to them for being honest as well. The waiter was transparent in letting me know he is quite busy and food might take some time to come out. Must try!

I’ve been wanting to write this review for quite some time and have finally come around to it! First off, upon arrival this restaurant was not what I expected. It is really small and feels like you are in someone’s dining room. At first my boyfriend and I felt a little awkward because you can hear other people’s conversations and it’s just a wide open square room with tables close together. Thankfully within 10 minutes we felt very comfortable, especially when the manager(owner? waiter?) was very pleasant and made us feel right at home. My boyfriend brought me here for my birthday so we decided to order wine to celebrate the occasion. I love Pinot Noir and since my boyfriend is not a big wine drinker, he ordered a rosé. He didn’t even tell us the brand and they didn’t have a wine list, but both glasses were so delicious. Just perfectly paired with our food somehow! The food was delicious as well, everything tasted homemade. The bread was pipping hot out of the oven, the way it should be, and just fantastic! They also brought out a delicious complimentary dessert for my birthday with a candle, which was lovely. We both loved The Mission Square and would definitely come back. The only reason I didn’t give five stars is because I really would like to see them expand, get another waiter, and get a wine list with a happy hour. The definitely need a happy hour.

LOVE the food here and the server and owner are super sweet!!! Just wish they had even one more server and or cook on weekdays(not sure how it is on weekends) so service was a little faster. It’s not the place to go if you want to grab a quick meal at all. But, I love the ambiance, the sweet server and owner, and of course the food!!! So I’ve gone a couple times when I’ve had a little more time for a meal… Their homemade bread with the garlicky olive oil is amazing!!!

Honestly, read the bad reviews and conclude that some folks need to stick to Olive Garden or Frantones, which is fine, but if you love Italian I challenge you to find better in Whittier. Granted the staff can be spread a bit thin at times, but the food is amazing and any server we have been helped by has all the info to walk you through wine selection or any other dinner out request you may have. Ambience inside or out is enjoyable and sets the mood for an eating experience not the norm. It starts with what every great dinner table must include, melt in your mouth, delicious, hot, fresh baked bread. After that the selection guarantees satisfaction. Try and see and taste for yourself.

This place is amazing from beginning to end. It was a little hard to find because it doesn’t have a sign outside, it just says Italian restaurant. The service was amazing. We ran out of bread and they baked us a fresh batch. The owner came over and talked to us for a bit and was very friendly. I ordered linguini de monti and it was amazing. Great combination of favors with the right amount of seafood. I travel a lot and seriously one of my favorite Italian restaurants. We were suggested panna cotta for dessert(probably spelled wrong) and it was amazing too! Same family as the flan, just a little lighter. I highly recommend this place.

I feel kind of bad giving this place only 2 stars because despite the friendly service that was provided by the waiter, the food was just not up to par. I don’t think I’m very picky when it comes to Italian food, but when I’m paying quite a bit of money for a dish that tastes like something I can make a better version of at home, then it’s not impressive. Food: Bruschetta is one of my favorite appetizers of all time but I didn’t like the way they made it. It was presented more like flat bread instead. I also ordered the linguine with clams and not only were there pieces of shell in my pasta, the dish was overly salty. The pasta didn’t taste fresh and certainly did not offer the perfect al dente consistently that I was hoping for. I didn’t bother to order any desserts. Service: Extremely slow for such a tiny restaurant. We watched other tables that showed up after us receive their food before us. We also received our bruschetta appetizer after our main pasta dishes. Our waiter was nice but we didn’t see him much after he gave us our food. Unless they make some changes to their menu, I don’t think I will be coming again because I don’t think their food is worth the price.

This is for you MANAGER! Please take some time to read my posting and train again your employees when you have to be absent from the restaurant. It was one of the most important nights for me and my fiancé. First dinner out with my future in-laws on my fiancé’s birthday but«The Mission Square» ruined it all. We have our favorite placed called«Seta Lounge» Italian house which is 2 minutes away from this place, however, due to the Unilocal rating me and my fiancé decide to check this place out by inviting her parents. My hope was to have a pleasant dinner night so made a reservation ahead. I have no idea how this restaurant have been manipulating the reviews on the Unilocal but as soon as we stepped in, I felt this night will be a mess just like the tables on the patio which was not even cleaned from other event/party. Reservation was at 7:30pm but I arrived earlier so that my future in-laws can be seated right away and order our dinner. Guess what? They did not even save a table for someone who already booked in advanced. Most of us came straight from work feeling very hungry but they kept us waiting outside the patio area where it was filled with left over foods and drinks… it was really cold and I couldn’t feel so bad for my future father/mother in law! I had to call«Seta Lounge» to make sure there are seats available for us and decide to leave after waiting till almost 8pm. I don’t care how nice the food is and how reasonable the price might be, manager should remind them what the meaning of RESERVATION is! Due to the terrible experience we had here, the dinner at «Seta Lounge» was much more impressive. Not only will I visit this place again but will never recommend to anyone around me. P. S. The interior of the restaurant is not so romantic for couples so keep that in mind. It’s just a small square room wide open… tables very close to one another with no booth as well.

Came here with my boyfriend for a date night for some good Italian food. The Unilocal reviews looked good so we decided to give it a try. We arrived to the restaurant and there was only one other table in the entire place, which I thought was kind of weird. Then when that table left we were the only people there for the rest of the night. Our server was also the only person working in the entire restaurant. We sat on the patio area in the courtyard which was nice. We started with the caprese salad and that was really delicious. I love good caprese salad and this place nailed it. It’s probably the only reason I am leaving 3 stars, instead of 2. Then for dinner, I wanted the gnocchi and our server told us that they did not have any gnocchi that evening, which was kind of a bummer. I would understand that more if the place was super busy and they ran out, but we were the only people there for almost the entire night so I thought it was a little strange. So I went with the risotto and that was okay, it could have used more flavor. I highly doubt I will back. This place just had a weird vibe and my dinner was nothing special, on top of the fact they didn’t have my favorite Italian dish, even though it was listed in the menu.

Yes. Yes. Yes. Just yes for everything about this place. My bf and I went to an early dinner Saturday evening with no reservations. We noticed there were lots of «reserved“signs so we were a little nervous we weren’t going to be able to be sat, but we did! And fairly quickly too. There were only 2 people serving. One was the owner and the other a server. They gave us time to look over the menu, ordered our wine and brought us water right away. I had read the Unilocal reviews before coming so I knew the bread was to die for. I was kind of bummed they didn’t bring out to us until the food was served. But oh my it was worth the wait. It was DELICIOUS. Came with olive oil, basil and garlic for dipping. So good! I ordered the mushroom ravioli and my bf the fettuccini. The fettuccini was ok… But wow the ravioli was the best I’ve ever had. EVER. It was rich in flavor and tasted very fresh. Highly recommend this place. Needs a little more decore inside but has lots of potential! Great for groups, date night or even a girls dinner.

What a delightful treat! We came here after our first choice for dinner was inexplicably closed, and I’m so grateful that first choice was closed. We showed up when there was a private event filling the outdoor square, so service was a little scattered and distracted at first, but they made up for it in the end. We had to wait until after the appetizer(prosciutto-wrapped cantaloupe) was served to get our bread, but it was so fresh out of the oven that we slightly burned our fingertips trying to pick it up. The cantaloupe was at peak ripeness, and there’s just something so simplistic and wonderful about that sweet melon wrapped in salty cured ham. I was really feeling the risotto, but risotto only comes with seafood meat options and I don’t mess around with seafood. The kitchen was more than happy to switch out my surf for turf, leaving me with an extremely delicious bowl of chicken and spinach risotto. Would definitely make a return trip here if I ever end up in Whittier again.

We had our wedding reception here. Gorgeous hidden gem! I found them on Unilocal when looking for an Italian restaurant in Southern California that’d be outdoor and enough setting for my guests. We paid for 82 people. We decided to get buffet style dinner with came with a custom menu. We chose; salad, bread, steamed veggies, seasoned potatoes, veggie pasta, red meat pasta and chicken marsala. Unlimited water, ice tea and lemonade. We chose full cash bar. The food was delicious and my husband and I raved about the food to our friends and family. During the wedding as we mingled with our guests we were informed that by the time they got to the buffet line there was hardly any food left, after complaining to management they filled the trays but the servers had already taken all the plates… that is the only reason I gave The Mission Square a 4 star. They are a 3 story villa style restaurant that is, like I said before, a hidden gem! They can for 300 people(I know crazy right) and they allow DJ and photo booth. Definitely come check them out! If you have an event here, just keep and eye on the amount of food your guests get and make sure they are all fed. I’m so sad some of my guests didn’t get a chance to eat, either because no more food or no plates to eat on. Oh and btw, 79 people ended up coming so there should’ve been enough food.

This quaint lil gem in uptown Whittier made for a lovely night. Thank you Unilocalers. The atmosphere is cozy, romantic and chill. The service was great, we were greeted with smiles by all. Kevin our server was the man. He recommended the perfect wine for our meal. So that brings me to the food: I had the filet mignon and she had the lasagna. The filet was so tender and juicy and was topped with a delicious sauce. My gf really enjoyed her lasagna as well. We both cleaned our plates and no we’re no just fattys. The bruschetta was delicious and the bread was so soft and right out of the oven hot. Why not 5 stars you ask? Well, I don’t just hand out 5 stars willy nilly so I’ll say 41⁄2

If you are looking for a local, romantic, and long night in Uptown, this is it. Came here for a birthday dinner and the overall experience was positive. The location is rather hard to find, being that there aren’t any signs signalling it’s location. I called ahead and inquired about patio seating for a group of 8 and corkage. They said they would accommodate and informed that corkage would be $ 10. Totally reasonable. Yes, service was really slow, but it was the same when it was a different business the last time I visited a few years back, Maybe it’s something with the distance to the kitchen? Not sure. Regardless, we were all pleasantly surprised when out food arrived. We ordered 3 pizzas, 2 salads, caprese, and calamari as appetizers. Totally filled us up and even forgot about our respective entrees. On top of that, they serve this ridiculously tasty bread served with olive oil, basil, and garlic. I would genuinely come back for this alone. Mouth watering. The entrees eventually arrived and the owner/staff could not be more pleasant. At the end of the meal, they served a great dessert and comped the corkage fee for my birthday. If you get the chance, request the patio, enjoy the courtyard fountain, and take in the lights. Just make sure you leave plenty of time for dinner. Thank you, Mission Square for a great evening!

I love the atmosphere here! They have dining outside and also inside. You can also throw a party outside. Love the concept if this place. I love that the have a garden of herbs outside and one of the waiter was actually picking some of them to use in a dish! The only thing negative I have to say is that the place is understaffed. We waited a while to be seated. The food here is really good though! That fluffy bread they serve comes out piping hot and dip it into their olive oil, it melts in your mouth! Filet mignon was cooked perfectly! If you haven’t, try it!

I came here with a couple of friends for some wine and dessert. Fred the owner was very welcoming. The wine was delicious. We also ordered 6 panna cotta which I thought was too much but it’s wasn’t, it was sooooo yummy and not too sweet. I haven’t tried the food yet but I’ll be back :)
