This place no longer exists, at least not in this location. No surprise, as it was gross and abominable slow service! No loss to the restaurant community.

I’ve noticed some people having shitty ordering experiences. That really sucks. The first time I went there only a couple of tables other than mine. The order was taken promptly, I got the lamb gyro with order of hummus/pita bread on the side. The order –definitely– took longer than I would have liked/expected to come out. Service was friendly like others have said. I was alone with my phone and not famished so the wait time didn’t really matter to me. If I had been in a hurry/very hungry/with hungry people I’m sure this review would be lacking a star. That wasn’t the case though and we don’t live in the hypothetical.
The food came out and the hummus was okay. It wasn’t bad or anything I just prefer a different kind of Hummus. But I didn’t go a Gyro House for the Hummus. I would’ve gone to N&J Bakery if I wanted fantastic hummus and pita bread/chips. I came for the gyro and holy shit-balls was it fantastic. The Baklava was delicious as well. I was very pleasantly surprised by the gyro and baklava, so much so I ordered a to-go order a few days later so onto that experience.
To-go ordering! I called them, they took my order(same thing I ordered the first time), they gave me an approximate time, I arrived when they said it would be ready, it wasn’t ready right that second but was with-in 5 minutes so I paid, took it home, it was delicious. This is about what I would expect from anywhere so no complaints. That one guy who went when the hummus machine was broken– holy crap that sucks. I personally will be going there again(today actually) but I definitely wouldn’t blame you if you didn’t. Hope if you do go again the experience isn’t as suck-tastic.

Nice authentic place. Complimentary tea is a nice gesture. Excellent lamb gyro, best I’ve had.

Delicious food! The young host described all of the foods to me and told me how to pair certain foods. Everything was hot, delicious, and full of flavor. Chicken was juicy, meatballs were ah-maaaaazing! Even the salad was vibrant and bright with fresh veggies and house dressing. I want to try that baklava!

I ordered food from here since somebody stuck their menu on my car, parked in the WSU parking lot. I was interested in trying new places out. I called the order in but it was not ready for pickup when I got there. I had to wait an extra 30 – 45 minutes. The cook was really behind. Apparently their hummus machine or whatever broke down. I ordered 2 meals but the 2nd meal couldn’t be made. The lady came out to ask me to order something else. She recommended the lamb shank which was not on the menu. She raved about her lamb shank and said it was very good. She said she could have it ready soon. I said ok. I should of asked her how much it cost. I think she charged me $ 15 for the lamb shank. It was more than what I wanted to spend. The reason I didn’t ask because everything on the menu were $ 8 and under at the time I went. I didn’t think it would be so expensive. Anyways, my brother tried the lamb shank and said it was tasteless. He took a couple of bites and gave up on it. Since it was $ 15, I ate it instead. It was ok. It wasn’t as good as the lady raved about it. The lamb shank came with plain yellow rice and that was it. It was not worth $ 15. I was so disappointed! The lady’s young son was the waiter. He broke his arm but he was still working for his mom. Poor kid. He was talking and entertaining customers while they were waiting. Some customers came in to order and the stuff they ordered were not available. They had to order other things instead. I think they were trying to order fries but had to get salad instead or something. They had to wait for a long time too. I really really want to like this place. I would like to support a mom & pop business but this place is a mess. There’s a groupon for this place. Should I give it a 2nd try? Maybe they learned and things are better now?

Stopped in for to-go food, expected 10 – 15 minute wait. Young man took my order wearing«sliders». Didn’t write anything down. Gyro w/hummus for the side, Greek Salad to share with the wife. Came out 2 times more to ask the very same information. Felt embarrassed because he was trying so darn hard to be good at his family’s business… so he offered me some hot tea, it was a nice gesture — but I noticed after finishing the tea that the crystal cup/mug it was served in was filthy! Slowly losing my appetite now. Then Mom comes in from an errand and another future server in tow — there are only 2 of us in the entire restaurant — both getting to-go orders. She took my order again — 2 separate times. Wow, now we are up to 5 times to get the order. 35 minutes later — I took home a gyro with french fries, a huge side of hummus with gyro meat on top and the Greek salad. Not only was the meat so thinly slice — the hummus actually had a sour taste and smell. The Gyro was pretty tasteless and the french fries I did not order were frozen restaurant bulk bags of frozen processed potato sticks sent to the deep fryer — they hit the trash. I often go to Las Vegas and marvel at a restaurant named Sephano’s Gyros near UNLV on Maryland. They have a system, move a lot of food and have the menu down to a science with less than 5 people running the entire restaurant the same size as this place. Wichita needs a good east-side«To Go» Gyro. Spangles, Pita Pit and some others are pathetic versions. I actually left the young man a nice tip. It wasn’t his fault — the management(parents) have minimal experience running a business and if anyone needed to see a food handler card, I’m certain it wasn’t available. I hope they tune in to an occasional restaurant show and learn a few things — I was not impressed. Sorry Unilocalski’s — move along and try N&J Bakery or Bela Luna.

The Gyros and Baklava were the best my husband and I have ever had. Although the wait was a little longer than expected, everything was super fresh when it arrived and was well worth it. Pretty sure the owners are the nicest people in Wichita. We are excited to go back to try the buffet! Gyro House is quite a find and we will definitely be going back.

THEBEST baklava I’ve ever had. Wonderful, authentic food served by the nicest people. The owners love making good food and sharing it with their customers. Lots of great vegetarian options, too!

Another great experience! After speaking with the owner, I was able to finally put my finger on what’s different about the kafta kabob — they use 96% lean meat, so it’s less moist(less greasy). This is a very big positive for me — but the difference in taste may not appeal to everyone as much as it does for me. Good authentic food and friendly service(owners) at a fair price. I’ll be back on a regular basis :)

The food at Gyro King is excellent! I had the gyro(you almost have to, it being the name and all) and the humus, and both tasted 100% authentic. The food is made when you order, nothing pre-made at all. The service was wonderful as well, capping off a great experience. If you are vegetarian and worried about their selection of vegetarian, I am sure they would accommodate you if you asked. I would absolutely recommend!

Very limited choices on the buffet and the menu. There is only one vegetarian choice on the menu/buffet also. The choices they had weren’t satisfying either. The service itself was fantastic. The waitress when made aware of my the aforementioned thoughts, chose to not charge me for the meal. She was very pleasant about the whole thing.
