Taco Tico

I call it Taco Barfo. Every time I have tried to eat there, I get sick. My husband loves it, so I’ve tried multiple times and.locations. Same end results. Never again will I even try.

Been eating here as long as I can remember!
Their logo used to be little man in a sombrero taking a siesta and the name TACO TICO in a diamond pattern. The napping mexican probably disappeared right after Sambo’s changed it’s name to Denny’s for those of you old enough to remember the early 70’s.
Back to Taco Tico… stopped there for tacos this afternoon because they are only 50 cents on Sundays and Tuesdays. Our favorite sauce is green chili and they actually put it on the food for you. Most places just give you sauce to put on yourself which is a messy job when eating on the go (driving).
I love their enchilada’s, tacoburgers, sanchos, and burritos too. I have been frequenting this location ever since we moved back to Wichita about 4 years ago now. The employees and managers are always friendly and do a good job.
I remember they used to have crushed ice for their drinks back in the day and when they changed the ice along with some of the recipes in the late 80’s they lost my business until word got out that due to customer demand they had returned to the recipes we grew up with.
I know it’s fast food and probably not as good for you as other types of meals so I only have it about once a month. It’s nostalgia for me really.
I can remember as a kid my Dad always took me to the restaurant of my choice for my birthday. I can still see the puzzled look on his face when I was about 7 or 8 and my answer was Taco Tico!!!
Some decisions just shouldn’t be left to kids.
