Mellow Mushroom

Went there with my family for a quick bite to eat in our way to the airport. We’ve been here before for the pizza but we were looking for light food. The salads tasted fresh and we’re just the right amount of filling.

I love pizza but haven’t found many pizza’s that are even mediocre in the tri-​state area. This was my first trip to the Mellow Mushroom. I was pleasantly surprised. We ordered a large house special. 2 pieces were filling and i had to take the rest home. The toppings were real (i.e. fresh mushrooms and large strips of bacon) and generous. The crust was dusted with parmesan and definitely something you ate not threw out. The crust was thin but substantial enough to hold up the toppings. I also liked te ambience of the place, casual, with good music playing. The waiter was attentive. The manager even stopped by. Overall, great food and experience.

We’ve eaten here a few times but forgot to Unilocal past visits. We are Deweys fans but I have to say that the food at MM trumps them. (No pun intended). We had the house special well done and it was excellent! Great red sauce and plenty of fresh toppings. We will be back. Good draft beer selection. Chelsea served us and we left very happy.

Worst service I have had in a very long time. Bartender was only interested in one customer, the rest of us were abandoned.

My wife talked me into trying this place when we visited before moving to the area. I am so glad she did! We’ve only been a few times, but every different pizza I’ve tried has been a ‘wow’! Doesn’t get better than that!

*SIGH* I have always loved Mellow Mushroom, but this last time I was here the service was definitely lacking. After the hostess seated us at our table, no server came by. 15 minutes later, the hostess was walking another group to their table, so on her way back, I stopped her to ask if she knew who our server was as we hadn’t seen anyone yet. She said she would take care of it. Our server came to the table shortly after, but there was no apology or explanation, and once we saw him, we knew he had walked past our table NUMEROUS times in the 15 minutes we sat there with no acknowledgement whatsoever. Throughout the rest of the night, it felt like our server paid us far less attention than his other tables, and I thought service was a little slower than usual. Maybe he felt embarrassed or awkward about making us wait so long at the beginning, but to me, it seems he should have paid us MORE attention to make up for it, rather than essentially ignoring us. As usual the food was quite tasty, and they have a pretty great beer selection. The Maui Wowie is my favorite pizza, but if you want something unique, go for the Red Skin Potato Pie. Sounds weird to put potatoes on pizza, but I promise it doesn’t disappoint. For those who are vegan or gluten-​free, there’s a nice selection of food options. I’m sure I’ll be back here eventually, and hopefully the service improves by then.

Mellow Mushroom is GREAT! It’s just down the road from us, so my family and I go pretty often, and the pizza is just excellent!
The soups are also — WOW! I wish they were bottomless, because I’d probably eat at least 3 bowls of the tomato bisque they have.
The service has been good every time I’ve gone here, unless it’s really crowded, but I can understand that. Mellow’s a place everyone should try, and I hear they even have burgers now!

Mellowterranean pizza is the best. Hands down the greatest pizza ever. As for the establishment it’s one of my favorite places to go with family, friends, dates, random forever alone time you name it. The atmosphere and servers are the best since everything is just so chill. If you haven’t been I recommend getting a pizza but if you want something smaller I highly recommend getting a calzone since they’re equally as great.
Pizza. Beer. Sports. Atmosphere. Seriously what else do you need?

I got the house pizza which is similar to a supreme pizza which I loved. They had a lot of other great sounding pizzas that have clever names with mellow mushroom incorporated in the name. They have a good amount of beer on draft that not most places do which was great! I have noticed these popping up more and more so they must be doing something right. I will be returning to try other pizzas and their calzones sounded amazing. A little on the pricey side when other pizza places have been nothing but lowering prices but it is delicious and will for sure fill you up! Worth a try if you like pizza and beer!

Chelsea deserves a raise! My first time at mellow mushrooms, she was amazing! Very attentive, had great suggestions, refilled our drinks and remembered lemon, what beers, etc. She was excellent! Food was great– had the magic mushroom medley with sausage. Lots of beer on tap. Great place!

This visit was by far our BEST! We have been here a handful of times (out of convenience) — The service was always awful, but the food was really good! This time we had a serious game changer… Our server was amazing, and the food was even better than ever before! The manager visited our table often delivering food, and he was great. My only complaint this trip is that it took us standing at the hostess stand for well over 5 minutes and flagging someone down to get sat… Not to mention there is another manager walking around with the loudest most annoying keys ever! That sound almost made me crazy for the hour we spent here. Aside from that, GREAT PLACE TO EAT!

What a groovy pkace ;). My server Lee was polite and very helpful with suggestions. You can substitute like for like, protein for protein, veggie for veggie on their specialty pies. They have a great selection of draft beers. I got a beer flight… $ 10 and hop-​i-​licious. My veggie was fantastic and the other half house combo was even better.

Visited Mellow Mushroom in Wilder after an afternoon at nearby wineries in Northern Kentucky. We had to wait about an hour for table on busy Saturday night. They have a variety of interesting pizzas — our group went with the Jerk Chicken pizza — liked the mixture — Jerk chicken, onions, mushrooms, green peppers and pineapple all grilled together. Topped with pesto mayo, Roma tomatoes, spinach and feta.
Only negative is it took about an hour to receive our pizza after ordering, we were so hungry. If you’re in the Wilder area stop by and enjoy some good pizza.

Mellow Mushroom is such a cool place! I love pizza (who doesn’t) but I’m not into the «normal» pizza. I want my pizza to wow me, make me say «holy moly I didn’t know I could get that on pizza.» Sure you can get the «normal» pizzas like cheese, pepperoni but then you can choose from the pizzas that aren’t that normal.
By far my favorite pizza that you can get from Mellow is Holy Shiitake, of course a place with mushroom in the name has to have a bomb mushroom pizza! It has an incredible white sauce on top that is very hard to explain (you just have to try it).
I have also had the Thai Dye pizza. Of course it has tons of Thai flavor but the really yummy part is the curry chicken all over the top!
And my third favorite pizza from Mellow is the Maui Wowie. It is an awesome spin on a ham and pineapple pizza, the spin is it has jerk chicken! Oh my its so good!
Just don’t forget the beer blends they have, I suggest the black and brown. Enjoy!

I had just had pizza so I opted for two appetizers. (One was free since Kate followed them on twitter.) My first one was the hummus with pita and the second brushetta. I didn’t care for the hummus at all. Hummus is always hit or miss with me, but this one was a huge miss. It was dry and bland, kinda weird crumbly texture. I took one bite and that was it.
The brushetta on the other hand was awesome! I could eat that everyday. It was topped with tomato, feta, cilantro, and a thick balsamic glaze. The crostinis were good, but it was amazing when I took the top off and used the pita from the hummus as a scoop. Seriously one of the best appetizers I’ve had in a while. I ate them all!
Lauren just got pretzel dippers meal. The pretzels were good and the apple slices are always a win with kids meals. Nothing super exciting, but it did its job.
Kate and Ali shared a pizza. I think it was ½ cheese, ½ pineapple and ham. They really do have awesome cheese. I remember one that had pesto and balsamic and ricotta– it was crazy good.
I’m glad this place is so close to my house. The beer selection is large, and the food is good. Worth the trip out to WIlder to eat.

I love, love, love their pizza dough! I tried a calzone today, and I’m not sure that I will ever go back to eating pizza! They offer a nice variety of pizzas, calzones, salads, and various appetizers (all of which are ridiculously good). The service is good, and they even offer trivia on Wednesday nights.

The regular pizza was ok but the gluten free pizza was disgusting. Probably the worst I have ever had. Price was extremely high for the quality of food we ordered. $ 90 for two pizzas, two salads, a bowl of soup and an appetizer plus four drinks.
The waiter seemed like he was high and could barely function. Very bizarre experience.

This place has the best salad with the enlightened salad! Their other food is yummy too.
The wait staff is consistently great, every time that I come in here. I’ve been in here like 5 – 6 times already and every time, I’ve been impressed with the staff’s professionalism and courtesy.
I can say that I’ll DEFINITELY be back here, because of the food and the staff!

Best gluten free pizza around. Tons of fun combinations. I highly recommend the white pie. The portabella mushroom appetizer is awesome as a meal of you aren’t super hungry. Their pizzas are more pricey than most but are huge and well worth it! We typically do takeout but the atmosphere is pretty fun if u wanna stay in as well.

Really good pizza! I ordered a mighty meaty medium pizza and it was great. Crust was thin while the edge was thick. Lots of meat for toppings. Highly recommend it.
It wasn’t very busy so the pizza arrived within 18 minutes after my order. And it was hot.
Concerns included the temperature of the place. It was FREEZING inside. Only 75 or so outside so that wasn’t the reason. Patrons were going out to their cars for jackets to wear.
My waitress, Shelby, did a great job. Even sent home a take out tea glass with my left overs.
