I’ve given this place so many chances because I really want them to do well. I actually really like the food, but the overall experience is always so disappointing. If I were rating just on food I would give them a 4, but the service is horrible and slow. We went in to try it out again after seeing on their facebook page that they were under new management. We went in the day that was posted and it was a huge disappointment. There was only one other table before ours and it still took over 45 minutes to get our food. We all had hoagies, that should not take that long and when they were finally brought out mine was cold. Plus after we ordered 20 minutes went by before they came out and said they were out of meatballs(my husband ordered the meatball hoagie first). The new management was nowhere to be seen, you would think after posting that they would be out on the floor greeting and talking with customers. They seemed really under staffed and I am sure were doing the best they could under the circumstances. Another disappointment for me is this restaurant used to be non-smoking which was a big plus for me, but now they allow smoking. Unfortunately I don’t think I will be going back anytime soon. Maybe a few months down the road when the new management has the opportunity to maybe make some improvements and deal with the growing pains.

They just re-opened. Very nice beer selection(if you consider both draft and bottles). Food is good. They did take out tables to put in two pool tables with the re-opening. Service was a little slow after the re-opening. I am hoping this is just getting the new folks broke in.

5 stars for great food & service. Under new management & now allows smoking. They told me only after 9:00pm but I was there at 5pm & they allowed patrons to smoke. Not great experience to go somewhere that I shouldn’t need to bring my inhaler. Also set up now as more of a college bar and not family friendly like it used to be. Since they allow smoking I won’t be back. Too many other great non smoking happy hour places to go that is non smoking.

Ducked in here for lunch with some coworkers today, we all went the two slice route. Pizza came out hot and delicious, some of the best I’ve tasted this side of NYC. The pizza is loaded with sauce which helps to make this this pizza an experience. It wasn’t quick, and the orders were brought out wrong, 2 outa 4. But the pizza held up its end of the bargain.

It’s a win or a lose here. You just need to figure out for yourself what you like and don’t like. For me, I’m not a huge fan of the pizza but love the garlic knots! I just think it’s ridiculous that they turn into a «club» on Thursday nights and charge a $ 5 cover to even get in even if you just want to order a pizza.

My girlfriend and I stopped there for lunch because we were around the corner picking up tickets at the Bank of Kentucky Center. They have a great lunch deal with 2 slices of pizza and a drink which is pretty inexpensive. There was only 3 other tables filled when we got there, which we thought was odd for a Friday near a university. Well, once you eat the pizza you’ll know why. It’s just OK. If you’re in the mood for pizza and don’t want to get a chain place, and you don’t want to venture out of the area, definitely go here. I would definitely pick it over any chain pizza place. But, definitely not a place that I would think of when I want a good pizza.

Food is always very good here but I’m only giving 2 stars since the service is always very slow and unfriendly. It just doesn’t seem that the owners and employees care about the customers. Every time I’ve been here(at least 4 times), no one says a word to you when you enter or leave. I’ve only ordered the BBQ chicken pizza pie and garlic knots. Both are delicious, although $ 20 for a «large» pizza that doesn’t feed even a family of four is way too expensive.

It’s probably my favorite pizza by the slice restaurant in the area. I’m not often in the area for lunch, but when I am, I try to stop by Rainero’s. Possibly the best place to eat near NKU.

I admit to doing something really fat last week — I ate an entire cheese pizza by myself. In my defense, it was a small pizza and it was pretty thin crusted compared to other places in the area. But still. It was that good. I did get a little of the heartburn that RJ talked about but I don’t know whether to attribute it to the actual food itself or just the vast quantity of it that I consumed. Anyway… rich sauce, perfect amount of cheese, great crust texture. Best of all, I got it for 50% off thanks to my Entertainment Book coupon! They have lunch specials and pizza by the slice too. When I came in the dining area was almost all full and there was another customer behind me for a takeout order. Yay for local pizza joints.

Good pizza by the slice, good salads made to order, good subs, and very friendly staff. It can take a while to get your food so if you’re rushed you should probably avoid it. I’ve been 2 or 3 times and look forward to my next visit.

Okay my choices today BW3’s, Subway, Taco Bell or Raniero’s All located in the same shopping strip. I was leaning towards Subway for a Quick sandwich in familiar environment. Since there was inside seating and pizza by the slice I figured why not have an adventure. Clean nicely appointed dining area. Friendly helpful service. I chose the Sausage Pizza Combo 2 slices and a self serve soft drink $ 6 and change we’re off to a good start. Because of its raised position the fountain drink machine spit soda on my jacket and shirt. Not so good. My 2 slices of HOT pie were delivered in a good amount of time I was not in a hurry. Pizza looked and tasted a little bland but thin crust and large slices seemed like a good idea. It is now 6 hrs later and I am still feeling bloated and uneasy about my lunch choice. I would try Raniero’s again for sure a different menu item in their new location but today I am looking for the Tums.

As a displaced New Yorker I’ve become horribly jaded when it comes to the term«New York style pizza». Big chains like Pizza Hut and Domino’s pizza have pretty much turned«New York style» into an simile for«big». But I’m still a sucker for it, so I’ll try it anywhere. Fortunately I stumbled upon Raniero’s one day. It’s a small place, usually pretty quiet(though it’s near NKU so I imagine at certain times it gets crowded) and the pizza is AMAZING. Maybe it’s been so long since I’ve had a great NY slice, but this stuff made me really happy. That said, I haven’t been able to eat it in a while because I’ve gone vegan. But if anything was to make me go back, it would be this place. Go there and let me experience it through you vicariously. Please.

It’s always nice to have a neighborhood pizza shop and the recently opened Raniero’s Pizzeria seems to fit the bill. A small place, with an unassuming location in a strip mall, it’s made more homey by old black & white family pictures on the walls, presumably from«the old country». They offer pizza by the slice or a whole pie along with a range of starters, salads, hoagies, and desserts. I went for the lunch special which includes a slice of pizza, a salad, and a drink and is a great deal at $ 6.35. The house salad was fresh and crisp, but primarily iceberg lettuce(you also have the option for a Caesar salad for the special). The pizza slice was generous in size with a nice thin(but not crunchy) crust in which you could taste hints of garlic butter. Mine was just cheese, but they do have a range of toppings and specialty pizzas as well. Based on my one experience, I wouldn’t recommend making a special trip, but if you live in the Highland Heights/Cold Spring area, stop in for a slice or carry-out a whole pizza(no delivery), because I want to keep my new neighborhood pizza joint!
