My husband and I both had the surf and turf dinner special. He had the prime rib with jumbo shrimp and I had filet and scallops. Our steaks were cooked perfectly, seafood broiled perfectly. The service was amazing! We would definitely go back.

That was just tragic. If you are looking for a steakhouse stuck in the 80’s you found it. The menu is uninspired and the steaks are unfavorable. Add the windowless rooms plus the high prices for unflavored beef and you have the sure makings of a culinary tragedy.

A very nice stop — we didn’t feel like waiting for Captain George’s line, so tried the Barn. It was not too dark, and not at all greasy or dated like others had suggested. Somehow it managed to be decorated with old barn equipment and still feel slightly upscale while still not making jeans feel under-dressed. Everyone on Unilocal said the waiter Essam was the best, and I thought«what are the odds he’d be our waiter?» but he was, and they were right. What a classy gentleman! The starter is a creamy spreadable cheddar with sesame sticks and crackers, and then they also bring you bread. My shrimp bisque was just right — very creamy! The salads had their own tri-dressing caddy, as did the toppings for the baked potatoes. His steak was perfect and tasty, and my scallops were good as well, though I wish they had come with a wine-less sauce option. He also enjoyed his local beer«Old Stitch» The Barn is a hidden gem for steak and seafood. We’ll be back when we have room for desert!

I was warned but I didn’t listen. We wanted to go out and get a good quality steak. I knew things weren’t going well when after about 30 minutes they sat a party of about a dozen very loud customers next to us… in a nearly empty restaurant. suddenly a quiet dinner with the wife was going to be ruined by a loud group and some horrible food. for starters, a 42 $ porterhouse better be good. it was awful. It actually tasted like it was going bad and was actually grey in color. It was tasteless as I was informed they did not season the steaks so the flavor of the steak could stand on its own. Bad idea in this case. this steak was such a low quality I put salt, pepper, butter and A1 on it to be able to eat it. I made it through a few bites. btw, I never put anything on my steak. not one grill mark on it. it was cooked at too low a temperature. the whole thing was covered in a greasy film. That kind of steak should come out sizzling. I’m fairly sure it never got hot enough to sizzle. appetizers were pretty good actually(clams and bisque). I’m not sure why the pretzels and cheese spread is a thing there because it’s not good. Easy cheese and pretzel sticks? the only bright side in this monumental waste of money and time was the service. Mike was our waiter and he was fantastic. the other upside is my pets are getting ¾ of a porterhouse. not going back.

Steaks were delish, and the service was fantastic! Highly recommend asking for Essam — he’s great! And JC, the executive chef, won’t disappoint. We’ll definitely be back again.

Way too expensive for the quality of the food and the atmosphere. Very dark inside. Waitstaff was attentive. The prime rib was good, but everything else in the fish family we ordered was mediocre, and the barn fries with Old Bay seasoning were terrible, no fat on them to meld the taste of the spices and just inedible. My brother’s French onion soup was greasy. The best thing I had was the crab and lobster bisque, which had real cream and sherry. A nearby diner’s mashed red potatoes looked good though. So if you go, stick to the meat and mashed potatoes and try the bisque.

While the service was excellent, the NY strip was the most bland piece of meat I have ever tasted. In fact, everything we ate had no flavor, the fries, the steaks, the garlic mashed potatoes, all bland. The crab imperial added to the steak dinner was more of hard thick cheese than crab. We decided to skip desert, not because we were full.

Amazing! What a gem! Steaks were among the best we’ve ever had! And the service was stellar! Essam was our server and we have never been treated with such class, respect and genuine politeness! He engaged us with witty banter and had fantastic suggestions as far as what sides we should order with our steaks! We will go back the next time we’re in Williamsburg and we will ask for Essam’s section!

First, the restaurant is very dark, which I don’t care for. Tables are dated a kinda sticky. I had the jumbo shrimp, garlic mashed potatoes and salad. $ 19.99. Salad was okay, good greens and only one cherry tomato. I asked for no olives but got one anyway. My shrimp was over cooked. I informed the waiter once he finally came back and checked on us and he offered to either bring me new ones or comp my wine. They were also not very seasoned. Potatoes were bland as well. Husband had a steak. Cooked as he ordered and tender but bland. Barn fries were spiced with old bay which he didn’t care for. I was also underwhelmed by the cheese wiz-cracker appetizer. They brought rolls a little later but they were like rocks. Overall not a good value for the price. If I’m paying $ 20 for a meal it better knock my socks off. This place falls very short. On a positive note, the service was pretty good and our waiter was attentive. Just very disappointed in the food.

I came here last night and overall, A-OK is the best I can say. It was a little strange, overall. We arrived apparently later in their hours and were met with an empty desk. We saw several employees pass by, doing whatever. When we were finally treated to someone who was actually working and we were seated. There was only one other party in the restaurant and they were on their way out. Anyway, our waitress, Taylor, was pretty alright. We had arrived later in their hours, but still pretty far off from their closing. We were treated to a strange basket of crackers and thick pretzel sticks with a little dish of hard, bland cheese. It worked well with the sticks, but don’t dare bother with the crackers. They’ll crumble the moment you try. Taylor took our orders and they all came pretty quickly. My mother and brother both ordered the regular cut of the sirloin. I ordered the broiled seafood trilogy(shrimp, scallops, and mahi mahi). Taylor gifted them with free extra sides of broccoli in addition to their potato sides, which was incredibly nice. For my side, I chose the wild rice. No extra side for me, but I didn’t ask for one, so that could have been why. My dish came with four sea scallops, three shrimp, and mahi mahi. The scallops were alright. I’m not sure how they were prepared, because there was no crust. The shrimp were all well done. The mahi mahi was excellent. The rice was okay? There could have been a bit more flavor to it. Taylor DID bring us some hot rolls, which helped the meal. Overall, I’m not in LOVE with the joint, but it could be worth visiting.

Disappointing… I am not sure what steakhouse some of these people posting positive reviews have been eating at. To begin with they brought me crackers and cheese whiz while I was waiting on my meal. I kid you not. The meat was not seasoned at all. You would think that for the price the steak would have been cooked on a wood fired grill. Well you would have guessed wrong. The meat was cooked on a gas grill. If I wanted a unseasoned steak cooked on a gas grill I could have eaten down the road at the Golden Corral for a lot cheaper. I also bought a slice of chocolate cake and it cost $ 9…

You must go here! We were in Williamsburg for 5 days and loved this place so much, we went back a 2nd time during our stay. Food is excellent and service is superb. Steaks were deliciously seasoned and cooked perfectly. We also had the chicken Cordon Bleu and the lobster tail and crab legs are all excellent. We also enjoyed the mother load dessert but were a little disappointed by the chocolate cake. Otherwise only had rave reviews for this place. We loved our waiter Angelo!

After making a pretty good journey to Williamsburg Virginia my wife wanted to go to a restaurant to eat. The Aberdeen Barn was where decided to go. The sirloin steak heavy cut wasn’t season very well at all. The service was great but if you going to a steakhouse the steak better be really good cook and it wasn’t seasoned all so it’s kind of a downer for me would not go back. Especially for the money we spent there was definitely not worth it.

I must say this was truly the worst dining experience I’ve ever had in a long time. While the food was okay, the service here was way below par. I mean the busboy was more personalible than our waiter. I actually got confused and thought he was serving us. The restaurant was dark and not very well lit. I really felt like I was actually eating in a barn.

I’m glad this place is around because it reminds me very much of some meals I had with my family during my childhood. It’s very old-fashioned and there is a level of service and hospitality you don’t get many places any longer. I loved the cheese spread they give you to start the meal and the cocktails were very well made. Here’s where they fell short… our Caesar salads tasted like the dressing was pretty much a delivered product, lacking the pungent garlic and anchovy flavors one might expect from an authentic Caesar. The greens were of good quality and would have been so much better with the right dressing. My steak was also of good quality, cooked correctly, appropriately tender for the cut, and pleasantly marbled… but there was no seasoning whatsoever. I resorted to using the table salt from the shaker, but you just don’t get the same wonderful effect salting a steak after the fact. It would not take much for this restaurant to snap all the way to 5-stars for me, and maybe I had them on an off night. All this being said, I would try them again for the cheese spread alone, but if the meat doesn’t have seasoning that would be my last visit.

We ate here for my birthday in August while on a trip from out of towm. Our server, Michael, took excellent care of us and sang a surprise yet classy, «happy birthday» to me at the end of the meal. The décor is interesting, and I thought it added to the charm of the western theme. And the most import and part is of course, the food. He had a bone-in cowboy at the waiter’s suggestion, and was extremely pleased. I had the princess filet with mushrooms, and a lobster tail, which were all amazinkhhfi In all, we can’t wait to return!

Aberdeen Barn would have been considered fine dining in 1985. It is dark and cozy inside, with leather booths and rustic tables. It has very much a steakhouse bistro feel, but in a barn. The food is fine and the service is just lovely. It kind of reminds me of wedding food — traditional dishes, and everything is soaking in butter/oil. Great kids options, and their baked potatoes come with a DIY toppings tray(yay!). Go ahead, load up on bacon and sour cream. Our meal started with a basket of salty pretzel rods with a cheddar cheese dip + butter. And then they came out with a basket of hot rolls. Talk about carbo-loading. Go with the dill or rye roll — yum. My scallops were very good, and the portion size was ginormous — about 10 medium sized scallops. Bill’s prime rib was huge, and he said it was delicious. The kids went surf and turfing and got an 8oz lobster tail and a small steak. The serving size of the kids plate seem like adult portions — so come hungry! We had the most lovely server — he was a very sweet older gentleman, and came by to check on us often.
